Great value for money a brilliant place to stay if you have children / teens as there is space.close

Communication with host was brilliant. Having two bedrooms and a lounge is so much better than a pokey hotel room.

The pillows were not the most comfortable but that is personal preference.

Great stopover at a lovely town

Lovely little town with a supermarket nearby and a bakery around the corner. The host was very friendly, welcoming us when we arrived and giving us good tips about the area (in good English). The rooms were comfortable and had blackout blinds on the windows. Cooking facilites were enough for our purposes (including a kettle and a dishwasher).

The flat worked well for us but may not be so suitable for small toddlers as the window heights on the first floor were low, the stairs were steep and there was no high chair or baby gate for the stairs or child-friendly/plastic cutlery. The light on the stairs did not work.

Great stay, convenient location

Eric was very helpful. The location is fantastic and the whole town is walkable. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and the parking in the area is all free. We felt very safe in the town for the few days we stayed. We stayed here primarily for easy access to Plopsaland de panne in Belgium, but found this was also close to Dunkirk and spent a lot of time at the local beach. We would recommend the property to anyone.

One of the best..

I have stayed at 30 places through booking in the last two years. This one was by far the best. The owner was very helpful with booking e-bikes for tours in the area. He gave us useful tips for the trip. The apartment was well equipped with everything you might need, such as a toaster, kettle, coffee maker, hairdryer etc. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable. The bedroom was perfectly dark for a quality sleep.

An enjoyable few days in Bergues.

The location was excellent . We loved the town walk and the Walls walk. Visited the Waffle factory on Eric's recommendation and purchased some to bring home. Very pleasant hosts.

Superb

Our stay in Bergues was wonderful and we shall definitely be returning. The town was charming and friendly. Our accommodation was very comfortable with everything we needed and more. You could very easily self cater at this property but the local restaurants were excellent too. Our host Eric was fantastic, he ensured we had everything we needed for our stay and provided valuable local information. Thank you Eric!

Absolutely brilliant apartment we had everything we needed.

It was a really nice town but all the sit down restaurants where either fully booked or closed on a Friday eve. I guess this is a fallout of covid but the property we stayed in had full cooking facilities.

Stylish, comfy stay. Wonderful host in a beautiful town.

We loved the appartment, Eric was a wonderful host. We changed arrangements mast minute because of travel and he was perfectly accommodating. Eric spent time giving us advice about things to do and was helpful when we needed things. The cleaner was understanding when we left a little later than planned. The appartment had a well stocked kitchen with everything we needed. We liked the fun design style and everything was comfy. Location perfect for town centre and free on road parking always available.

The only thing we were confused about is that the main building front door was the same key to first floor appartment door so since the alternative appartment downstairs' key also unlocked the main building front door we felt we needed to question whether the downstairs appartment key could therefore open our appartment door. Eric was quick to answer and respond this wasn't possible which reassured us.

Nice accommodation at a reasonable price in an interesting little town

The hosts were very communicative and met us at the property to hand over the key. The whole place was very clean and well equipped for a short stay. There were shops etc within a short walk.

The room layout was odd in that you had to go through the bathroom to access the upper bedroom. This could cause access issues sometimes especially if there was someone downstairs using the sofa bed then using the bathroom . Not really a problem for us and could be resolved by reconfiguring a couple of inner walls

Excellent place to stay

Lovely apartment, very clean and everything you need for our stay, the owners Eric and his wife were there when we arrived after calling us for arrival time, they were very friendly and told us all about the places we could visit so very helpful, also had a free bottle of apple juice for us. Would definitely recommend this apartment as could not find a fault

Exceptional

Everything as described, or even better. There was even a dishwasher and, even though it was not published as a possibility, there was a foldable baby cot. The apartment is only a couple of hundred meters from the city centre, where there is also a supermarket that is open until 21.00. For the parking, we found a spot directly in front of the apartment and it was free of charge.

The only thing I missed (and it's really nitpicking) were small cooking pots, for example to heat up milk for children and similar.

The property and location are perfect in every way. It has the best equipped kitchen of any holiday rental we have ever stayed in. The host was friendly & helpful, the double bed was very good. Nice to have a dishwasher too. Lovely gift of beer & biscuits with plenty of coffee pods for the machine.

Everything you need and more!

The location was perfect to explore the region. The walled town itself is lovely to explore. We loved trying all the different bakeries while we were there each morning before setting off for the day. Everything you could need was in the house. Eric, the owner, is an absolute gentleman. He was so helpful and full of wonderful suggestions and ideas from day trips to restaurants. He even helped us make a reservation at one. It's such a great area with loads to do whether you want to explore war memorials, museums, shopping, markets or just lounge on the beach. This is the perfect base. Would definitely recommend it!

Emplacement juste incroyable en plein centre de Bergues, Notre hôte très disponible nous a accueilli chaleureusement et a su nous diriger sur « que faire dans le coin », ville connue par le film incontournable des chti’s mais j’ai découvert aussi cette très belle cité fortifiée avec toute son histoire ! L’appartement est tout simplement incroyable et super bien équipé ! Si vous devez aller dans le nord, passez par la, vous ne serez pas déçu ! 😉

Die Ferienwohnung war perfekt für zwei Nächte auf der Durchreise. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war freundlich und unkompliziert. Wir haben immer einen kostenfreien Parkplatz vor dem Haus gefunden. In zehn MInuten war man zu Fuß am Bahnhof und konnte nach 7 Minuten Zugfahrt Dünkirchen erreichen, wo die Nutzung des ÖPNV kostenfrei ist.

Schöne Wohnung mitten im Zentrum

Die Wohnung liegt mitten im Zentrum und ist doch sehr ruhig. Das Auto konnten wir problemlos in der Nähe kostenfrei parken. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und mit vielen Tipps versorgt.

Der einzig kleine Nachteil: die Betten hatten zum zudecken entweder nur sehr dünne Laken oder richtig dicke Winterende. Eine leichte Sommer Deke wäre schön gewesen.
