Cute property with everything you’d ever want. Hosts were great and a truly relaxing weekend. Worth the trip up into the mountains.

This onsen was very quiet and comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.

While not designed for foreigners, the staff are proficient in English, generous, and accommodating. Just a little Japanese will ingratiate them to you even further. Westerners will be pushed a little outside of their comfort zone, but in a relaxing, kind, and easy-to-adapt-to way. Don’t forget that the onsen tax must be paid on site and in cash (¥150 per night when I stayed). The food is elaborate, delicious, but decidedly Japanese. The staff will talk you through it if you need help.
