We stayed at the private onsen room and it was very comfortable. Room was very clean, onsen was great. We sadly couldn’t try the dinner but breakfast was very good. They also picked us from and dropped us off to the nearest bus stop. So even though the location wasn’t the best public transport wise, we were very comfortable getting there. My favorite part was the view.

We wanted a traditional Japanese ryokan. These are very expensive to stay in and so this one stood out as reasonable value for money. It’s only a 3 star facility but it was in a nice forest environment that was quiet.

The onsen is small - two people at best. I had an idea it was going to be outside but it wasn’t. We caught a bus to a nearby bus stop and they picked us up from there. This “shuttle” service is necessary as the ryokan is some distance from the bus. In my experience this should not have been at an extra cost. Most hotels I have stayed at that are remote routinely offer a free shuttle service.

We booked a room with a private onsen. It's just magical, we enjoyed it a lot. Perfect to stay 2-3 days. The staff was very friendly with us. They offer transportation to the bus stop or train station, and it's very convenient.

The beds weren't very comfortable. Check-in is on the later side (which is common in Japan), but I felt the room could have been ready earlier since the hotel wasn't crowded and we didn't arrive super early. But honestly, the overall stay was so great that we didn't mind too much!

Excelente servicio y atención, llegamos en un día de plena lluvia, nos perdimos y nos fueron a buscar. Las instalaciones son excelentes y muy cómodas, una experiencia cultural que los anfitriones y servicio hacen realmente especial. Sirve para descansar y disfrutar de la naturaleza, cercano y muy accesible a todas las atracciones de Hakone. La cena que ofrecen y el Onsen al final del día luego de recorrer son la guinda de la torta :D
