47 Steps

47 Steps was wonderful. The reception woman was extremely helpful. Very short walk from Rome Termini. A word of caution as the name implies there are 47 steps to enter. People with mobility issues probably should find lodging elsewhere. FIVE STARS PLUS ++

This is a great property for young train travellers. It is literally across the road from Rome’s central station. However, it was not clear to me from Expedia’s booking site that there are 47 steps up to the second floor and no elevator, The staff arranged someone to carry my 18 kilo suitcase, but it cost a 5 euro tip on the way up and on the way down. Also, this is a guest house with no food available. There are basic kitchen facilities for the use of guests.

Stayed one night before we our early morning flight home from Rome. Quiet and super close to Termini station.

Our room at 47 Steps was immaculate. Just across from Termini Station, the location was perfect so we could catch an early train to the airport the next morning. It was also remarkably quiet and the a/c worked great! Just a heads up, that you do have to climb up 47 Steps (hence the name) to get to the door (which was remotely unlocked for us when we called the phone number at the front door at street level - easy peasey). If you have difficulty climbing steps or have lots of luggage, this might not be a good fit. The doors to the floor and our specific room were remotely unlocked, so we didn't deal with a human, except for on the phone to get info on how to proceed to our room. We didn't care about that, but if you do, now you know.
