Cheap hotel for an overnight stay. Needs a bit of modernisation ironically given the name! Lots of mould in the bathroom. Wouldn't want to stay again.

Lovely overnight stay. Small room and en-suite but fine for one night. Good buffet breakfast had everything we needed. Good location for bars, shops and restaurants but not noisy. We didn’t have a car, but the public car park was 5 minutes away. We will stay there again.

Hotel advertises free parking But when you get there you discover its a car park that is down the road and around a corner, that is only free after a certain time and if you get there after this time, you have very little hope if finding any parking.

The bed was very comfortable with a bolster, two pillows and a decorative cushion per person, the most pillows we've ever encountered in France! Despite Cherbourg undergoing significant utility and road revamping, it made little impact in the hotel. Free parking was easily available within a few minutes walk 😀

Hotel staff hospitality is so excellent with heart-full services. I can recommend tourists from all the countries to stay and feel ‘Cherbourg’ hospitality at this hotel.

Pleasent little hotel in a back street in Cherbourg town centre. The hotel is in a charming old building and my room overlooked a quiet courtyard out the back. Service was great and the room was clean and comfortable... but quite small. Absolutely fine for a single person for 1 night. But might be a bit cramped if you are sharing or staying a bit longer. I imagine they have bigger rooms available too though. I would happily stay here again.

Nice hotel with great breakfast (though a bit pricey) family room was on the top (3rd) floor- hotel has no lift and a spiral staircase with some loose fitting carpet - so not the best after a long days driving. The room was a bit small for 4 but was clean and the beds were very comfortable, hotel in a quiet location and a good nights sleep was had by all.

We needed an overnight stop in Cherbourg. We normally stay in one of the big, soulless hotels out of town. The Moderna is right in the city centre, close to restaurants, bars and shops. Despite this, it is easily accessed, a short drive from the ferry terminal. The hotel does not have its own car park, but there is plenty of free parking in nearby public car parks, and in the street outside the hotel. The room was comfortable and quiet, with a new bathroom.

Excellent location about 100 meters to a row of restaurants on the sea front. Very friendly hotel reception lady. For a two star, I thought it was pretty good. Clean rooms. There is a bar opposite so you do hear some people milling around on a Saturday night. Parking available right outside the front door. Stairs are not child friendly but my kids loved sliding down. Did not notice a lift and I was on the third floor. Don’t expect bell boys. At 2 star, it’s not that sort of place. Breakfast was I think 8 Euros. I gave that a skip. Nice shower.
