Castle Dargan offers the best welcome I’ve ever experienced. The atmosphere is one of quiet elegance, and the cleanliness across the entire property is impeccable. Every staff member I encountered was warm and welcoming, ensuring a seamless stay from check-in to breakfast. A top-tier establishment that I cannot recommend highly enough.

Room v clean but no wow factor. Functional. No body wash in bathroom. Had lunch here before attending wedding in a nearby establishment. Food served up v quickly, hot and tasty. Staff were lovely. However a few little qualms. On return to hotel after attending wedding around 11.45 or thereabouts the hotel was like a ghost town. Bar was closed! Not a guest in sight. However we did source a staff member who managed to get us two small single bottles of wine for which we were grateful and paid in my opinion top dollar at 19 euro! A tad bit steep when you're hawking it up the stairs and drinking it in your room. Anyway we had a nice sleep. Breakfast was v under whelming, not great. Had high expectations for the full Irish. Consisted of one sausage, one rubbery piece of bacon, egg, mushrooms ,cold tomato and a bit of potato bread that was miniscule. There were other guests staying here who had booked through the same website as ourselves and they booked at the last minute, a couple of days before and they paid substantially less for their stay. The hotel car park was almost empty and the hotel wasn't busy in general. Sorry Castle Dargan, you're only ordinary in my opinion.
