A beautifully remote location with stunning views, exceptional and personalized breakfast service.
Location was remote but beautiful surroundings and view was golf course with background to mountain range. The breakfast was amazing with buffet style and one cooked breakfast each from a menu specially made and fresh. Comparable to a 5 star hotel we also stayed at in Rosses Point, Castle Dargan was much better. The personal touch with food was fantastic. We travelled with our elderly mum and the hotel staff were very helpful and offered yoghurt and bread and butter when she couldn’t eat. Free of charge. Loved the breakfast and cleanliness. Great staff too. (Including the new young lady who initially served us in the bar).
Staff were amazing and literally couldn’t fault anything. Very good rate, inclusive of good breakfast. Thank you.

A nice stay
Room was clean, beds were very comfortable, staff were nice. Setting was very nice. Good value for money. Breakfast was very nice.
The bathroom needed to have more shampoo, shower gel etc as only 1 of each were available.
Soup was not great, lacked flavour.

The price for accommodation was reasonable.
Golf course and golf range, big bedroom, good dining rooms overlooking the golf course, and the spa. Good selection of food and good portion, The cooked Breakfast was good, poached eggs always perfect!
Bedroom was too warm in spite of adjusting the thermostat. The shower cubicle in the Female Changing Room needs cleaned of mildew. There was no hot water in the spa to make herbal tea with.

Food was good staff were friendly but clearly very inexperienced
It was a cold night but there was no heating in our room eventually we were given a plug in fan heater which was not much good and was very noisy!
We were keen to watch the big rugby match on the telly but despite their efforts staff could not get any volume on tv for the full match

Amazing value for money. Lovely staff. The olde building and bedroom were fab. Will return 100%
We stayed in the old building - Sally Gardens Suite. It was fabulous. I loved the old furniture, the creaky floorboards the amazingly comfortable bed and the bath was just fantastic! I love a room with a bath robe and taps that have instant hot water. Oh the pillows were insanely comfortable. Breakfast looking out over the golf course was really beautiful. The choice of breakfast and how it was presented was really great. Staff were just lovely, Connie in Reception, the servers at dinner and the gentleman and lady for breakfast were just brilliant. Will definitely return.
I would like an open fire in the bar and for it to be a little more cozier, but perhaps there is one somewhere and I didn't see it.

Lovely place for a quiet retreat. Good location if doing various outdoor tourist attractions.
No great lobby area for hanging out.

Our stay was nice and quiet.
The room was very spacious. We booked a room for 3 people and it had a big double bed and 1 single. There was plenty of room and a nice big bathroom. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. Friendly staff. We only stayed for one night. The hotel is about a 20 minute drive with traffic from Sligo town.
We booked in to eat in the restaurant. We found that the food was quite expensive with a limited menu. The food also when it came out was quite bland with minimum effort put into presentation for the price. Do not order cocktails. They were not made well.

Little sleep and disturbed rest
The staff were friendly and pleasant. I had a treatment in the spa and Dana was amazing very good at her job.
The noise outside our room was very loud and boisterous till 3am which prevented us from sleeping or even resting.

Lovely place to stay, top class food, not overpriced
The location is beautiful. Castle Dargan house is an interesting old building, which is warm and comfortable. The food we had both for dinner and breakfast was really excellent. Compliments to the chef. Waitresses at both dinner and breakfast, were friendly, pleasant and efficient. The sea bass for dinner was second to none, and the poached eggs for breakfast were perfect.
Nothing really to dislike.
The selection of fruit for breakfast was limited, but that’s not a big issue.
Everything else was really good.

Luxurious large suite
We booked a suite which was very large, lovely decor and a gorgeous entry and stair well in the separate older house in front of the reception . Bathroom was huge with a free standing bath
The lounge area of the suite was very large but we didn’t use it as it didn’t have a Tv … it would have been great if it had a second Tv in the lounge anda fridge would also be helpful .

Great place but can be better.
The rooms were fantastic. We stayed in a charming little house covered with colorful ivy, and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was wonderfully romantic, and strolling around the area was such a pleasure. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming toward the kids. The location and surrounding nature were beautiful. The golf experience was also excellent, and the gentleman at the golf shop was especially kind to our child. I’ll definitely return to visit him and enjoy some more golf or time at the driving range.
The rooms we stayed in were quite cold, and there were no in-room heating controls available, which most hotels usually provide. The restaurant felt more like a bar rather than a full-service restaurant. While the food quality was very good, the wine selection was disappointing — several wines listed on the menu were unavailable, and we had to settle for one that wasn’t on the list which we didn't really enjoy. It was a birthday dinner so it really missed the spot.

Disappointing
The setting was pleasing, thought it rained heavy for our stay.
On the website, the Spa looked very inviting, hence we decided to head to Castle Dargan early in the day to avail of the facilities. We were charged €15 as residents to use the "Spa".....after payment, we were told the steam room wasn't working. The jacuzzi under a metal overhang with black mould running down the walls was less than inviting, but there was little else to do in the spa so we decided to try it. We didn't get any instructions on how to use the jacuzz. It was slimy, and only some of the jets worked. The only enjoyable part was the sauna. The heated loungers were turned off, and again, there were no instructions on how to use them. The 2 baths on the veranda were empty, and we were not given instructions on how to use them. The showers in the changing room were ridiculous, so we showered in the room. As we exited the spa we complained, and the manager eventually agreed to refunded the €15. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was fine. Staff were ok, not overly competent or friendly. I probably won't be back.

Time in Dargan
Comfortable room and lovely surroundings. Breakfast was included & was exceptional. Dinner was available on the grounds which was great after a day of travelling.
The bathroom didn't need to have a bath. Climbing in and out of the bath was a down side. The railings in the shower prevented you having enough room in the shower. It also would have been good to have an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

A very pleasant stay and we would return again if in the area.
The accommodation was a one bedroom apartment. The living room/kitchen area was spacious. The bathroom had a heated floor, which was excellent.
The only issue was the livingroom lighting switch which cauesd the lights to flicker on and off, so we had to switch off the lights.
The breakfast was excellent
We had dinner in the evening. The food was good, but a minor issue was the serving staff appeared to be part-time, possibly young students. Though they tried their best, services was not good.

Overpriced and unsatisfactory
Location
Poor standard of room.
Air con not working (looked as though it had never worked). Hot tap in bath not working. Had to fill bath from shower then couldn't empty the bath as plug broken. Worst of all was the noise. We were ground floor and the noise from people leaving the hotel from around 11.00am until almost 1.00am was intolerable
Tried to complain but night porter wasn't answering the phone despite repeated attempts.

A home away from home
The hotel had breakfast and it was great! The rooms were comfortable (we stayed in an apartment type room). We used the kitchen to cook and the rooms were very comfortable.
The only thing I did not like was the location from the city center but it didn't really matter because we had a car and could travel easily anywhere. The location was nice and quiet and next to a golf course. Lovely facility.

Was pleasant, but would not stay there again.
Good location for touring Sligo.
We arrived to find an empty wine bottle in our room after the previous guests, the door fell of a very old stand alone wardrobe when I opened it, breakfast staff seemed a little overwhelmed with the amount of people for breakfast and the greens keeping staff start extremely early disturbing our rest, we stayed in the front of the house.

Great golf course, friendly staff, spacious room, good breakfast and convenient parking. I wish we had time to try the other facilities.
The bar area is not very welcoming and lunch menu has very limited choice. This is for constructive feedback. Overall very good property.

Highly recommend
Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff, very reasonable price, beautiful and comfortable apartment with a great breakfast option included, which was delicious.
The spa massage package and lunch deal was great and the thermal spa was beautiful and very relaxing. The therapists were absolutely lovely, very attentive and nice. Loved the Jacuzzi 😁
In the apartments there was no lift and walking up 4 flights of stairs after walking 35k in Sligo Camino was painful lol
I also understand that I should have maybe requested the ground floor. The windows didn't open or have the option to open very much for fresh air.
The bar facility/area could have been bigger with more seating as the hotel was busy with no room to sit inside for heat and to hear the singer.
Plus no toilets near the bar.
The spa would be even more fantastic if there was a swimming pool.

Nice hotel and breakfast
Breakfast was lovely.
Booked the room as it was upgraded, however on arrival was told there was an issue in the room so it was downgraded with €50 returned.
Wouldn’t have booked the hotel at that price for the standard room if they rang in advance.

Comfortable and remote
The hotel was very relaxing with beautiful countryside all around.
The dinner menu was limited. Chips were overcooked and not really edible
