What a beautiful hotel on a stunning estate. Service was fantastic as well as the food.
We stayed in a room on the estate. Close to the main hotel for food and breakfast. The room was clean and had an old charm with decor.
To be really picky we found the room was very hot. And had no way to switch the heating off. The shower fittings could do with an upgrade.

Large comfortable room in the house in the courtyard. Comfortable bed. Great shower with toiletries supplied . Bottle of wine left in the room was a lovely touch. Clean and well maintained . Use of Spa facilities at a charge of €15 was lovely way to end the stay. Great breakfast choices. Super bast to explore Sligo.
The room was very hot, they radiator control didn’t appear to be working. It is quite remote and Taxi’s are expensive if you want to go elsewhere for dinner and drinks . Was a little disappointed that we had booked dinner for Friday night and were seated in the bar not the dining room as it wasn’t as comfortable.

Beautiful bedroom and bathroom. Welcoming and friendly staff. The hotel facilities are clean and the location, on a crisp sunny Spring weekend was beautiful.
Signage to parking could be more visible. I would have appreciated more choice of pastries at breakfast such as croissants. I found it strange to include porridge on the menu rather than with the cereals.

The Italian waiter in the restaurant was excellent. He went above and beyond to facilitate my mother's needs. This guy is a valued asset to your restaurant. His customer service is A1. Food was divine also.
Room was lovely and nice and warm for the time of year.
Steamroom out of order in spa with no acknowledgement as we were there on a spa break. Spa quite cold. A little uncomfortable for what it should be esp in Nov. Treatment and therapist very nice. Have been on a few occasions and always pleasant.

Lovely staff, good location, food was delicious and fresh.
No hot water our first night so I had to use their spa shower but it was fixed on the Saturday and we did get a small refund on check out.

The bed was comfortable.
The service in the restaurant was very poor. No staff came to take our food order. When we eventually did order, food took 45mins to arrive. Entertainment in the bar was also very poor - no atmosphere in the hotel considering we stayed new years eve. Very disappointing.

Short stay as we had been in Sligo hospital all day Saturday & urgent need to return there next morning so what we saw of the property seemed lovely
Booked twin room but were provided with double bed & as it was almost midnight when we arrived we just took what we got & didn’t complain. Pulled curtains to close & small black thing flew out which I initially thought was a rodent but turned out to be a pair of socks which I guess belonged to a previous guest. Was going to mention both on checkout but receptionist just took the keys from us & completely ignored us as she was too busy talking to another member of staff behind her desk. On the other hand the porter who greeted us on our late arrival & the restaurant staff at breakfast were lovely

The staff were exceptional, have never had such a warm welcome in a hotel before, receptionist was one of the most helpful, friendliest and warmest persons I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, I have worked in hospitality for over 25 years and am seriously impressed with this experience, every single staff member we encountered couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly.
Nothing, all was wonderful. Food, cleanliness and facilities all perfect

Location remote but perfect for us visiting family locally. The breakfast was grest with a buffet and also included a cooked to order breakfast too. So amazing in a beautiful room and perfect views over the golf course. Very friendly staff. Also, as visited with our 85 yo mum the staff added a lovely surprise to our room for her birthday. This was perfect and compared to a well known 5 star in rosses point that we also stayed at, Castle Dargan was much better!
Heating thermostat and room temperature control could be better. It was a bit temperamental.

Location was remote but beautiful surroundings and view was golf course with background to mountain range. The breakfast was amazing with buffet style and one cooked breakfast each from a menu specially made and fresh. Comparable to a 5 star hotel we also stayed at in Rosses Point, Castle Dargan was much better. The personal touch with food was fantastic. We travelled with our elderly mum and the hotel staff were very helpful and offered yoghurt and bread and butter when she couldn’t eat. Free of charge. Loved the breakfast and cleanliness. Great staff too. (Including the new young lady who initially served us in the bar).
Staff were amazing and literally couldn’t fault anything. Very good rate, inclusive of good breakfast. Thank you.

Room was clean, beds were very comfortable, staff were nice. Setting was very nice. Good value for money. Breakfast was very nice.
The bathroom needed to have more shampoo, shower gel etc as only 1 of each were available.
Soup was not great, lacked flavour.

Golf course and golf range, big bedroom, good dining rooms overlooking the golf course, and the spa. Good selection of food and good portion, The cooked Breakfast was good, poached eggs always perfect!
Bedroom was too warm in spite of adjusting the thermostat. The shower cubicle in the Female Changing Room needs cleaned of mildew. There was no hot water in the spa to make herbal tea with.

It was a cold night but there was no heating in our room eventually we were given a plug in fan heater which was not much good and was very noisy!
We were keen to watch the big rugby match on the telly but despite their efforts staff could not get any volume on tv for the full match

We stayed in the old building - Sally Gardens Suite. It was fabulous. I loved the old furniture, the creaky floorboards the amazingly comfortable bed and the bath was just fantastic! I love a room with a bath robe and taps that have instant hot water. Oh the pillows were insanely comfortable. Breakfast looking out over the golf course was really beautiful. The choice of breakfast and how it was presented was really great. Staff were just lovely, Connie in Reception, the servers at dinner and the gentleman and lady for breakfast were just brilliant. Will definitely return.
I would like an open fire in the bar and for it to be a little more cozier, but perhaps there is one somewhere and I didn't see it.

Lovely place for a quiet retreat. Good location if doing various outdoor tourist attractions.
No great lobby area for hanging out.

The room was very spacious. We booked a room for 3 people and it had a big double bed and 1 single. There was plenty of room and a nice big bathroom. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. Friendly staff. We only stayed for one night. The hotel is about a 20 minute drive with traffic from Sligo town.
We booked in to eat in the restaurant. We found that the food was quite expensive with a limited menu. The food also when it came out was quite bland with minimum effort put into presentation for the price. Do not order cocktails. They were not made well.

The staff were friendly and pleasant. I had a treatment in the spa and Dana was amazing very good at her job.
The noise outside our room was very loud and boisterous till 3am which prevented us from sleeping or even resting.

We booked a suite which was very large, lovely decor and a gorgeous entry and stair well in the separate older house in front of the reception . Bathroom was huge with a free standing bath
The lounge area of the suite was very large but we didn’t use it as it didn’t have a Tv … it would have been great if it had a second Tv in the lounge anda fridge would also be helpful .

The location is beautiful. Castle Dargan house is an interesting old building, which is warm and comfortable. The food we had both for dinner and breakfast was really excellent. Compliments to the chef. Waitresses at both dinner and breakfast, were friendly, pleasant and efficient. The sea bass for dinner was second to none, and the poached eggs for breakfast were perfect.
Nothing really to dislike.
The selection of fruit for breakfast was limited, but that’s not a big issue.
Everything else was really good.

The setting was pleasing, thought it rained heavy for our stay.
On the website, the Spa looked very inviting, hence we decided to head to Castle Dargan early in the day to avail of the facilities. We were charged €15 as residents to use the "Spa".....after payment, we were told the steam room wasn't working. The jacuzzi under a metal overhang with black mould running down the walls was less than inviting, but there was little else to do in the spa so we decided to try it. We didn't get any instructions on how to use the jacuzz. It was slimy, and only some of the jets worked. The only enjoyable part was the sauna. The heated loungers were turned off, and again, there were no instructions on how to use them. The 2 baths on the veranda were empty, and we were not given instructions on how to use them. The showers in the changing room were ridiculous, so we showered in the room. As we exited the spa we complained, and the manager eventually agreed to refunded the €15. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was fine. Staff were ok, not overly competent or friendly. I probably won't be back.

The rooms were fantastic. We stayed in a charming little house covered with colorful ivy, and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was wonderfully romantic, and strolling around the area was such a pleasure. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming toward the kids. The location and surrounding nature were beautiful. The golf experience was also excellent, and the gentleman at the golf shop was especially kind to our child. I’ll definitely return to visit him and enjoy some more golf or time at the driving range.
The rooms we stayed in were quite cold, and there were no in-room heating controls available, which most hotels usually provide. The restaurant felt more like a bar rather than a full-service restaurant. While the food quality was very good, the wine selection was disappointing — several wines listed on the menu were unavailable, and we had to settle for one that wasn’t on the list which we didn't really enjoy. It was a birthday dinner so it really missed the spot.

bathroom needs shelving in the shower! where to put the bits? sink needs either a vanity table beside or shelves above it, lighting could be better

Comfortable room and lovely surroundings. Breakfast was included & was exceptional. Dinner was available on the grounds which was great after a day of travelling.
The bathroom didn't need to have a bath. Climbing in and out of the bath was a down side. The railings in the shower prevented you having enough room in the shower. It also would have been good to have an exhaust fan in the bathroom.
