I was disappointed to hear that the gym and swimming pool was closed for reservations, this was a big reason for going here in the first place.

The hotel itself was nice enough but the shower was cold. For 200€ a night you’d expect a warm shower. It sometimes happens but when i mentioned it at reception at checkout they didn’t seem to care really so that’s why the bad review.

Quaint but can be a little noisey and busy. Perhaps it’s just the Christmas season where lots of families seem to host their gatherings. You will need a car to get to the hotel. There’s lots of grounds to explore on the property unfortunately we did not have to chance to.

It's a grand 3 star hotel. Stayed 2 nights and couldn't sleep until after 1am both nights with noise from corridors, and could hear every conversation / tv perfectly from rooms either side of us. Even kids running in the corridors upstairs seemed to shake the room. Staff were excellent, breakfast was nice, bar food was fine, decor was 3 star. I was surprised that residents had to pay for play inn, and even more surprised that a coffee there was €4.10.

Room was big but very basic& not that warm There was a shower but no bath - 4 of us in a family room but only 2 cups & 2 glasses provided - I had to ask for more cups & glasses for us & more tea/ milk No drinking water bottle in the room . No safe provided in the room Room was very dated and carpet worn Staff were nice not particularly friendly. I asked a barman where was the best area for a mobile signal was and he went off & came back with a container of colour crayons ! I got a takeaway in the local town and the hotel provided plates/ cutlery when asked without any issue which was a big plus . Play area was not open which was a huge disappointment to my little granddaughter aged 5 yrs Unfortunately I have to say I would not stay there again - This hotel Inn at Dromoland is within walking distance to Dromoland Castle but it is a very tired and certainly I found no luxury which because of the name I was expecting . In saying that it was very affordable for B & B . Breakfast was very fresh and delicious

Beautiful property. The staff were very accomodating, the rooms were large and well- appointed. We enjoyed the pub for dinner, and walked to Dromoland Castle through a golf course to go to a falconry tour- which was amazing!

Some areas of this property need to be updated. The carpets look dirty in the hallways and in our room. They need a good steam clean or to be replaced. Overall, the hotel was good for our two nights. The breakfast was nice. The hotel was next to the Dromoland Castle and golf course. It is a beautiful area to walk around! The walled garden is incredible! The in house bar and restaurant seemed lively and had local, live music several days a week. The property’s amenities were nice, but again they seem to be a bit in need of some updating and repair. The Expedia property details should include the fact that swim caps are required for the pool, which they charge you three euros each for unless you bring your own.The design of the shower stall in the rooms was terrible and we could not figure out how to keep water from getting all over the floor, which made it very slippery. Beds were quite hard, which some may like. Parking was awesome! Nice place for people with young children to stay since they have family rooms and outside games in addition to indoor pool.

Unfortunately the hotel needs updating and everything felt dirty except the updated and clean bathrooms. The carpet was dirty, the walls were in need of a good painting or at least a wipe down. The upside to it was we were able to walk the property at The Dromoland Castle which was gorgeous!

The property needs some updating and renovation for sure. I had read this in a number of other reviews so I wasn’t surprised. We went to Shannigan’s twice for dinner my Chicken Caesar Salad was lacking one key element “chicken” it was more like a few crumbs and a complete waste of time. This is also mentioned in other reviews. There were a lot of staff but no one seemed to be actually interested in serving us. I lost track of how long it took to get and pay the bill.

I still think about the Irish beef and red wine stew from their onsite restaurant at least once a day. Definitely worth the 11 hour flight and additional drive. Room was clean and staff friendly. Appreciated the in room oscillating fan that helped dry my toddler’s shoes after he jumped in the river in Gort.

Very fine functional hotel. A spacious family room with a comfortable bed…and was quiet. Irish breakfast was good. Had a meal in the hotel restaurant each evening - ample tasty portions with most attentive service. Would book to stay here again.

The staff was extremely friendly and hospitable. I felt breakfast was overpriced, but honestly a full Irish breakfast at a restaurant would probably cost about the same. Everything was delicious (some of the best scrambled eggs, sausage, and baked beans I've ever tasted!) and the seating process was fast and organized. My room was a little warm but there was a fan available to help cool it down a little. The view from my room was someone's backyard, which felt a little awkward, but I could always just close the curtains. Speaking of the curtains, they completely blocked out all light, which was extremely helpful when I was trying to sleep off my jetlag! Overall a great start for my first visit to Ireland!

The Staff were brilliant I feel the hotel needs updating the rooms were a good size the cleaning could be better it’s such a lovely location just a few changes could make it a more warmer and inviting place to stay. I may return but mainly due to the wonderful staff especially the reception staff.
