The breakfast was beautiful
I didn’t like that the staff were very ignorant talking about customers right in front of them, i didn’t like the fact that after 1am you can’t go out for a smoke the main door has a lock and chain on it and when asked could it be opened I was told go smoke in the hallway by the side entrance where the door was locked too and I was refused for it to be open, there should be an option where people are allowed outside to smoke.

I check in at 6.00pm but did not have time to go to the room -when I got back to the hotel there was a massive rainstorm it was about 1 degrees. When I got to the room at about 11.15 pm- the lights would not work and I had to grope about in the dark to find a switch that worked. I then discovered that there was no Heating -all the radiators in the corridor were cold and room like an ice box and clearly had not had heat on for a considerable time. I went to reception who told me that guests had complained that the hotel was too hot so they had turned off the heating -as it was minus 4 the night before and certainly-1 at this point I was incredulous. The heating did come on and the room warmed up but the bed and sheets were moist and slightly damp for having not heat for a considerable time -I had to wear several jumpers and my trousers in bed as while the room became warm -the ged clothes did not - when I opened the room curtains and next morning I found that the view was a thru courtyard with people going about shopping so there was no privacy and had to keep the curtains closed for the duration of my stay
Cold - badly managed -old bathrooms where you had to step into a bath to shower laying a yellowed rubber mat in the bath so as not to slip

Great central location, very nice staff, good food, lovely clean comfortable room, free parking.
Nice ambience (former convent), very quiet as it's off street.

Great location
Very good food
Excellent rooms, however, the only exception is the radiator was turned off on our arrival. I had to turn it on myself.
Could have been cheaper

We liked the friendly atmosphere and friendly welcome when we arrived. The room was basic but it was clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice, good homoured and friendly.
There was nothing to dislike about the hotel or our stay.

Parking was easy
Nobody told us about the band playing that night - we just overheard someone else discussing it

The Temple Gate Hotel is situated downtown Ennis, which is convenient for walking around the town and central for day trips outside of Ennis. The room was a double bed plus a single bed. Very comfortable mattresses. Clean room and modern bathroom. The hotel was quiet and staff very helpful and friendly.
The only thing that was "so so" was the breakfast buffet. Maybe a 7/10. Breakfast is served from 7am-10am. We were there most days at 9am and the items on the hot tray were not exactly hot. If you have any issues with salt, then you should avoid the scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, and blood pudding. These were very salty. Yoghurt/fruit salad/cereal/toast/danishes/ Irish bread options were great. The coffee is excellent, they have a Franke self serve machine. You can have anything from an Americana to a Flat white in seconds.

Centrally located. Great and helpful staff. Quickly resolved issues that I created, with a smile.
Other than parking there’s nothing to complain about

Very nice and comfortable hotel uniquely built onto an old church (pub and restaurant were in the old church and food was excellent). We only stayed one night as Ennis was close to the Cliffs of Moher that we went to the following day. Thought it was a little pricey but it was on par for other hotels in the area.

Breakfast very poor and cold. Could do with coffee machine in bedrooms, rooms are small definitely not a 4 star!

The location is excellent, right in the centre of Ennis town.
Little bit dated but very clean and comfortable.
I went to the bar for food shortly after I arrived and the service was dreadful. To be fair, the younger staff who were on in the morning for breakfast made up for it with excellent service, as did the reception staff but I would be reluctant to return because of it

Breakfast in bed was lovely
No hot water in the morning, no notice regarding this and had to call reception to be told the hot water system had broken down overnight. When checking out I said I would like a refund and was offered 25 euro from a 276 euro cost. I said this wasn't good enough and then was offered 50. I called the next day and spoke to a manager who offered 10% and explained the hot water was "all used up" from multiple guests. Not great for a 4 star hotel. We agreed to a 20% discount and I felt pressured to accept this as "everyone else was happy with 10%". 2 days later there is still no sign of refund.

Central location was excellent.
Double bed was really small.

Booked an executive room, but very mediocre. Lots of signs that the place had better days and no hot water in the shower. A working shower is the minimum to expect but this place is also charging quite a lot. Breakfast wasn’t exciting either! Stay away from that place!

The geographical location
The hotel is just old dated, the rooms are from the end 90s and do not meet the current standards. Our room was at the base floor and just next to the hotel entry. No privacy! Just unacceptable!

This hotel has great opportunity! The pub was adorable. The room was dated but clean. The stag was friendly and engaging. A few updates and dim AC and it would be A++!
The room was dated and warm.
