    Asked for a quiet room with nice view: got put in small, dark room immediately above the very noisy bar area on the busy main street & facing the grey town hall building. The floor was actually vibrating with the noise on the Saturday night! 1 bath sheet each, no hand towels - we were told they don't have them when we asked. The shower & sink were both in the bedroom which wasn't great. No light or shaving point above sink. Only 1 side of bed had a bedside table & lamp. Teacups didn't get washed or replaced. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable & the breakfasts were lovely - as were the lads cooking & serving them. The hotel was very clean also. Good base for travelling all over the beautiful Dumfries & Galloway.
