Beautiful hotel, room was a great size for family of 4 Swimming pool is great but they let too many people in one of the days u couldn't swim it was so packed. Good selection for breakfast but my kids not so happy that both mornings the pancake machine was out of order. Not a lot to do in Monaghan town but hotel is great for little kids for the kids club/cinema etc

The hotel was first class,and the only complaint i have was the black stains at the reception area,it takes away from the rest of the hotel which is spotless.

Great location to monaghan town we stayed start of November and the only issue we had was the room was uncomfortably cold with no way to control the temperature we made several requests to front desk to rectify . Would not stay here again in the winter months

We booked the honeymoon suite to start off our first few days as husband and wife and were bitterly disappointed. There was mould on the wall and throughout the night the lights kept coming on. There were alot of children running around our floor and the floor was shaking everytime they passed the door. The shower kept cutting off (lack of pressure) and when i mentioned the issues at checkout it was completely dismissed.

We had an amazing stay at the Hillgrove, we were 2 couples and got 2 rooms beside each other which was handy. We got a meal in the bar on the Saturday night goujons and chicken burger was over cooked i got the duck with noodles which i couldn't find one fault with it was amazing. Unfortunately our service wasn't great had to ask twice were our drinks were we must have waited 15mins on them...then breakfast the next morning we ordered 4 full fry,s and had our frys nearly ate before we received our toast other than that there was nothing else i could complain about....had a great overnight stay but probably wouldn't go back till the entertainment starts back up in the hotel.
