The people at the front desk were very friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel. The room itself had some issues, such as a strange chicken like smell as soon as I opened the door and tried to walk in. Further in, it wasn't as noticeable, though. The ceiling light did not have a working light bulb, and pressing the switch confirmed that. I had to prop the door open when I arrived after dark, to find a lamp to turn on. Several lamps were missing working bulbs or any working bulbs. The bathroom had a light but no fan to keep things fresh. The air conditioning worked, as did the wi-fi. Wi-Fi is 10Mbps and free with no signup if you watch a 10 second self-promoting hotel video. The shower floor was open and at tile floor level, so water from the shower spread to half the bathroom, even with the curtain drawn. Cleaning staff did not replace the extra toilet paper roll for the 2nd day, nor did they remake the bed. They did take out the trash and reset the towels for the bathroom. Pool was accessible if you wanted it, as was complimentary breakfast between 6 AM and 9 AM EDT. Parking wasn't too bad, but it is a bit challenging to find the place behind the Days Inn. I took a quick break from my busy life to recharge my batteries. The Quality Inn at Plainfield was just what the doctor ordered. The room was quiet and comfortable with a great shower. The indoor pool offered a much needed respite for me and for my adult daughter. The free breakfast was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
