A stunning Scottish experience.

Stunningly decorated property. Very Scottish themed if you want to take in the Scottish culture. Loved the tartan uniform worn by all staff. Very clean with excellent cleaning and turn down service. Lovely welcome by the staff. Lovely treats in the room. Beautiful view of the castle. Loved the heater floor in the bathroom and the marble bathroom. Really well thought through design with lovely details. Thanks for the umbrellas we used as we walked out into the rain. Very comfortable and high tech. Lovely communal areas. Would love to see this hotel expanded in future. Would definitely return to this hotel. The hotel was very secure and felt exclusive letting in only guests and friends of guests.

It was a shame that there was a £20 service charge added on to the room per night at the end of the stay. I feel there is no circumstance where service wouldn’t be needed so this should just be included in the price when booking so there is no hidden cost. I’ve never experienced this at other hotels. There was no communication from the hotel prior to arriving. It would have been nice to have a welcome email asking if we were there for a special occasion and if we needed anything. We were also only told about the parking they offer when we arrived but we had already organised parking. WiFi was sometimes poor in the evenings. The rooms were slightly on the small side and it was a shame there was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room which is normally quite a standard thing in a hotel of this calibre. Slightly dark in the rooms but I feel this was part of the aesthetic.

This hotel was truly exceptional. The staff go over and above to provide real 5 star service. Views over Edinburgh castle are amazing and the location is ideal for exploring the city. I will be going back!

A lovely boutique luxury option in Edinburgh

Service was impeccable. Newly refurbished so immaculate in decor and presentation. Whisky tasting was excellent and included some nice drams. Food was very high quality. Staff were very friendly and offered helpful advice. Location is excellent right on Princes Street - was also quieter than expected.

Our Classic Room was certainly cosy and at times we needed careful manoeuvring such as only one person in the bathroom at once. Breakfast was delicious although top drawer on price at £35pp for cooked options. Dinner was an option, although the space is more of a lounge and suits drinks more than a full meal.

Very very exquisite!

The staff was so very friendly and helpful, it was very luxurious and what an absolute pleasure to splurge and stay there. I am a croissant snob, and the croissants at breakfast were delicious!

I knew it was going to be expensive, so I saved up to stay there. Obviously one can’t expect this kind of experience for less, but I wish I could afford to spend a week there!

Overall a very lovely place to stay and luxuriate in Scotland

The view was beautiful and the room was very lavish. Shower was absolutely superb, I never wanted to get out once I was in. Heated floor also was top tier. Food was overall good. Staff were excellent.

There were a few little things that made it feel cramped, like the tables in the dining room.

We can’t wait to go back!

I liked how exclusive it was and that only guests could be invited under the property. The views from the room were spectacular. I loved the theme of the hotel and the history behind it. I love the staff in the tartan uniforms. I love that it’s in the middle of Prince Street so getting to old town is super accessible. I love the boutique style of the hotel. They provide excellent service and are super accommodating to food allergies. For being right in the center of new town the soundproofing on the rooms was excellent. Vans, police sirens, fire sirens and buses would go by and we barely heard any noise.

The only negative I would give about the property is that the trash cans are rather small and they could be larger. There is a distinctive scent that we noticed most of the hotels use when you enter that could be changed to something else. It smells a bit like an old lady.

Best service ever!

The hotel is fantastic. I've loved the interior design: it's beautiful and you really get the Scottish vibe. I recommend to include breakfast because you get a breathtaking view on Edinburgh Castle while eating. The location is amazing: I've been walking to every main Edinburgh attraction. EVERY person in the staff is amazingly helpful and warm. They gave me great advice about where to go, what to do and it has made my trip much easier and better. I'm super grateful and I'll come back with the family!

The waiting and directness - sit here and wait, stay here and someone else will come. A lot of staff to do the check in process slowed our departure for evening entertainment we had a schedulee and then check out seemed to stretch out we had a train to catch

Lovely stay but the bed was on a lean and very uncomfortable.

We loved the location. Hannah was amazing, she was so helpful and friendly, the doormen were also incredible. Hannah suggested places to go and would give us directions. She is what made our stay so great. Thanks Hannah.

The staff were exceptional. Michael (the fm), Dario (whisky sommelier), Scott (bar tender), Olga (housekeeping) and Hannah (guest services) to name but a few, made our stay one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had.

The location was excellent, the decor inside the hotel was exceptional. The staff went out of their way to help us, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was well situated, with a great view of the castle and Princes Park is just a short walk across the road.

A regal stay with impeccable service in a perfect location!

Everything about this property is top notch. The location is perfect, the service impeccable, rooms are lovely, beds are super comfortable, nice fluffy towels, towel warmers, heated bathroom floors….the whole nine yards. It really feels like you are a royal guest!

It is fairly expensive so I was a little surprised that things like coffee and breakfast were not included.

Absolutely the best

100 Princes st is a gem! It is absolutely beautiful. The staff is extraordinary. It belongs in the 9.5-10 category. We stayed 5 days and I didn’t want to leave, they were so accommodating and just lovely. There are so many small and large luxuries. Please order a whisky sour from the beautiful bar on your way to dinner, it is the best! I would not stay anywhere else in Edinburgh

My one complaint would be about the beds. It’s a small hotel so to accommodate different room configurations they join twin beds together w a bed joiner. This isn’t a problem but they need to do a better job of covering that strip. Trust me I had zero problems sleeping. I hesitate to even include this as it’s picky. I’m sure they would have fixed that issue had I brought it to their attention. I will 100% return.

Jantamos tb no hotel e apesar do cardápio da janta ser pequeno a comida estava ótima! Quando chegamos no hotel fomos recebidos com uma taça de espumante, uma dose de um ótimo whisky e petiscos. Para a nossa surpresa este hotel pertence à mesma rede do Hotel 41 que ficamos em Londres e tb uma baita experiência! Quarto lindo, decoração fina, banheiro aquecido e diversos mimos nos esperavam no quarto! Todas as paredes do hotel eram pintadas a mais com paisagens da Escócia. Ah…. a vista para o Castelo de Edimburgo do nosso quarto e do restaurante é encantadora!
