The most amazing place I have ever seen. The restaurant on site is super high quality, able to make dishes from all around the world that are true to their origin. All staff is trained in allergies and intolerances, we were able to order vegan, or anything else we needed. The beach has the most amazing coral reefs just around the rocks.
What an incredible week.
The staff unfortunately made a mistake in booking our return ferry ticket and we had to pay for a different ferry

This place is an absolute dream. Exquisite rooms. Blissful surrounds. Warm and genuine staff. The views. The pool. The beds. Everything!!
Honestly, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. So, if you are looking for the perfect, peaceful getaway on Nusa Penida, then look no further! Staying here was absolutely heavenly ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you all so much!!!

The breakfast was average. The room and private pool were nice.
The Washroom design is awful. The view was excellent but it was completely open resulting in being bitten by mosquitoes and ants all the while one used the washroom. The shower never worked in-spite of repeated requests to fix it. The private pools were not so private with each adjacent occupants of similar rooms with pools looking into each others pools and verandahs.

Beautiful property and loved our private pool with ocean front views! Lovely staff! Nice massages in our room! Delicious food!

A total immersion in the heart of nature, nestled between rainforest and a majestic view of the ocean and the volcano: everything is absolutely perfect. The restaurant offers a varied menu, everything is delicious, and the breakfast is exceptional! I Wayan And your staff is remarkably kind. The spacious and exceptionally comfortable bed invites relaxation, as does the bathtub with its breathtaking view. The chill music, the pool, the beach, and the flowers complete this enchanting escape. This place was, without a doubt, the most beautiful of our vacation. And even though I don't usually like to return to the same place twice, we've already booked for next year, this time with the children and our mothers. Thank you to the entire team for these heavenly days you made possible for us! 🤩

The staff were amazing happy and kind , nothing was an issue for them when we asked
There was nothing that I didn’t like the place was amazing , the only comment I would make which we didn’t really care at all but there’s no tv in the room. We were so busy we didn’t need it and just enjoyed the suite and the view looking out over the ocean.

The team went above and beyond in their desire to serve and please us. They were all very professional and personal. The manager took a personal interest as well. It is clear the hospitality is very core to what they do and not just a job. The food was fabulous and the setting was great. Room service for meals was brilliant and a sensible choice of food menu items - they catered well for my wife who was Gluten Free. I would not hesitate to come back

The minute we stepped into the room we were wowed. Very spacious and the sea view was terrific. Interior was done tastefully and they also offered insect repellent sachets and sprays. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The buggy staff were all helpful and cheerful whenever we took their rides. Loved the toiletries they provided too, especially the lemongrass body wash which smell great and was practical in the nature setting. They also provided bubble bath. The Ala carte buffet breakfast offered good enough selection in our opinion, offering a few local delights and international fares like egg Benedict and avocado toast. Liked the smell of their towels which carried a scent of essential oil. Nice little extra touch!
The location which was super secluded might suit those who do not intend to leave the villa throughout their stay but not for those who plan to visit attractions and do snorkeling. It was over an hour drive to get to Kelingking beach and attractions in the West of the island and the road conditions could be treacherous.
The air conditioning seemed inadequate due to the room size. Glad I had my sarong to cover myself as I would be sweating under the blanket. Every night we would hear the occasional loud chirp of a native bird which seemed to be nesting near the grooves of the high ceiling😅 The gym was outdoor, next to the open air spa beds, and from the dining area one can catch a glimpse of what’s going on. Although they can cover the area with a cloth if needed, I think a more reclusive corner for massage for the ladies might be more welcomed.
We realised that although they offer 2x of housekeeping everyday, they sometimes forget to replenish the towels which they have removed, as well as replenish the water glass bottles. Last of all, there was a miscommunication when we requested the receptionist to assist us to call the ferry company up to see if we can change our timings. It resulted in our family arriving at 1.45pm only to be told that there was no ferry at 2.30pm and hence we had to wait at the harbour till 4.30pm. So have to be careful when it comes to communication.

We really loved it all: BEAUTIFUL location, great sized rooms, friendly and helpful staff. They played good music in the bar area, delicious drinks and food. Lots of activities to do in the common areas.
Not the resort, but the ferry experience during the commute. Friendly resort team members/staff helped us make arrangements, but a quick, streamlined process to buy ferry tickets would enhance the overall experience.

This was a serious health and safety incident, not a minor issue. The resort sprayed a toxic pesticide (Nuvet Plus 600 EC – Diazinon) near our room without warning or consent, and the fumes entered our room while we were inside. The chemical made contact with my skin and caused a rash, and the smell was so strong they had to move us to a different room.
Management admitted they spray this poison twice a week, meaning guests are repeatedly exposed without being told. When we raised concerns, the General Manager and owner offered no apology or accountability, refused a refund, and even threatened legal action instead of resolving the issue.
When we decided to leave early for our safety, staff threatened to call the police if we didn’t pay our food bill, leaving us feeling unsafe and intimidated.
We also had poor food quality, including a hair in our meal, and we left early at our own expense due to how unsafe we felt.
This resort shows no regard for guest safety, transparency, or basic hospitality.

I had an absolutely incredible stay at Semaya Beach Resort. The staff were all very gentle, attentive and hospitable. The room and facilities were so beautiful. I loved the design and decorations, especially the outdoor shower in the garden and the bathtub overlooking the sea. The balcony was large and ocean facing. It was perfect writing my diary, reading, sipping tea and watching the sunrise there. The wifi was fast and I didn't have any problem at all accessing the internet there despite that there was no cell phone reception at all. And the food was SO delicious!
The only thing is that they only had a senior masseuse working there every other day so I was only able to get a pre-natal massage on one of the days that I was there. Would have loved more options like a facial or body scrub if pre-natal massage isn't available.

The villa and the resort itself is just exceptional! So many just instagram views. Specially, we liked bath with sea view and the balcony. Every detail in the villa deserves a picture for a magazine. The personnel are very nice and friendly.
The location is quite remote, but I guess anyway to travel around the island there are just two options: rent a bike or take a guided tour.

It was a bit out of the way to get there, and the massages were a bit expensive, but expected for this type of resort.

We got a suite with a private pool. Honestly I don’t think I’ll ever stay in a more stunning room. Unreal views for sunrise and the most warm and welcoming staff.
Perfect getaway if you want peace and quiet or are looking for a romantic stay with your partner.

The property has a scenic location with nice views of the ocean, and the pool area was relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful with arranging transportation. Breakfast was simple but adequate, with fresh fruit and coffee. The location is peaceful and quiet, though it’s a bit far from main attractions without transport.
I was served undercooked meat in the restaurant, which raised serious food safety concerns. The tap water was discolored and drinking water was not sealed, which made me uneasy about hygiene. The resort should ensure food is prepared safely and provide sealed bottled water in rooms. Maintenance of facilities and attention to safety standards could be improved.

If you're looking for a place to clear your mind, reset your spirit, and truly unwind, Samaya Beach Resort is the destination that delivers it all.
From the moment we began planning, the experience was seamless. A special thank you to the exceptional Sales Executive, Oktaryanti (Okta), whose professionalism and dedication made our journey stress-free from the very start. She went above and beyond — not just during the booking process, but even after our trip, assisting with future travel plans. Her customer service is truly a standout.
We came to Nusa Penida solely to stay at Samaya — and we booked 10 nights with absolutely no plans to leave the resort. Mission accomplished!
The resort strikes a beautiful balance between modern luxury and authentic local charm. It’s sustainably minded, sourcing ingredients locally from Nusa Penida or nearby Bali, and hiring kind-hearted locals who create unforgettable experiences with genuine smiles. The team quickly learned our preferences, tailoring their service in the most thoughtful ways that made every day feel special.
For the ultimate unwind, we kept returning to the spa, where Rini and Ria were simply exceptional. They knew exactly how to deliver deeply relaxing massages with the perfect amount of pressure — a true highlight of our stay.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible Samaya team:
Oktaryanti – Sales Executive
Rini & Ria – Wellness Spa
Sindra – Manager
Deva – Duty Manager
Putra – Food & Beverage Manager
Junuarta – Chef
Wina, Wila, Begi, Ivan – Front of House
Sugik, Novi, Desi, Werdi, Intan, Diah, Jesika – Food & Beverage Service
Widi, Agus – Bar Team
And everyone in Housekeeping and the Kitchen
If we’ve missed anyone, we’re truly sorry — you all played a part in making our stay so memorable.
Samaya isn’t just a resort — it’s a sanctuary. A feeling. A memory you'll carry with you long after you leave.
We loved everything!

The property was very clean, updated and well kept. We had a plunge pool, and loved the privacy, but also liked being at the main pool where you can order food and drinks. All of the staff were very accommodating and kind, such hard workers!! They offer tours to see some of the island’s main attractions which was nice not to worry about making plans in advance!
The property is about an hour away from The ferry, after a travel day, then an hour in the car, you begin to wonder if you made a mistake booking on Nusa Pineda, but you will be pleasantly surprised when you arrive!!!

The room has nice features and a great view at the ocean. The staff tried their best to prepare us a nice floating breakfast.
I don't think that a 5-star establishment would have the following problems:
- Non-existent ability to get any kind of flowers;
- Very slow room service and customer service;
- Spoiling the surprise of a candle-light dinner for my partner;
- Such a loud mechanism of our pool to the degree that you cannot sleep;
- Lack of manners around my partner that seriously make you question whether they even respect women;
- Buggies dying out on the road to our room, which is quite lengthy and leads through dark places;
- Not following my requests for our dinner.
- Inability to book a scooter for us, which I then managed to do as a foreigner in 15 minutes.
If I included minor details (no entertainment set in the room, not the most equipped gym), then I simply don't consider this place 5-star quality.
I would have no problems with these mishaps in a place, for which I paid less money, but that it is not the case.

We absolutely loved staying in Semaya Beach Resort. The villas are nestled in the heart of lush greenery and tropical flowers with stunning ocean views. Falling asleep to the sound of waves hitting the cliffs was so peaceful. The bathroom was a thing in itself - although part of the villa, it’s an outside space which greets you with gentle breeze every time you enter and taking bath with an ocean view feels like the best luxury in the world. The staff have all been incredible, especially when me and my husband suffered an injury - they went above and beyond to help us with transport from hospital back to the resort and have been nothing but helpful and kind. The food in the Silo restaurant was delicious and the menu selection pretty expansive. We truly felt like we were in paradise.
Although the remote location of the resort has its advantages, one big minus is the fact that everything is far and unless you have a motorcycle you have to rely on taxis to take you places. Nearest restaurant is a 15 minute car ride which means you are mostly forced to eat at the resort. While the food was delicious, the selection of Indonesian meals was not very large and the prices were well above the local standard. Be prepared to pay western prices.

Inconsistent service mainly with the restaurant .

The view of the pool.
1) The food have a strong Indian Spices in most of the dishes even the breakfast regular dishes such as the avocado toast and egg benedict which was not our favourite taste.
2) The spa and the gym are just names. These are very small area in the open air they called it gym and spa where they have two massage beds and several workout equipment.
3) Many bricks of our villa private pool are fallen down.

Very friendly and helpful staff, always there to assist with anything.

Resort staff assisted with all the tours, transportation and scooter rentals. Made our stay smooth and worry-free.
There was nothing not to like. Only one minor suggestion, wish restaurant had few more Vegetarian options.

Amazing location, well equipped villa, with a private pool facing the beach.
The staff were professional, kind and helpful.
The open design of the bathroom, which was exposed to the outside, was a bit inconvenient because it allowed air drafts and insects to enter.

It was the perfect stay for us as a couple. The hotel is very nice and unique. The room was always very clean. The food in the restaurant and the drinks at the bar were amazing! Would recommend a stay of 2-3 nights, as the island offers nice places and beaches, but there is no town or anything else that you could explore. The island Nusa Penida is all about the nature and the amazing beaches, cliffs and the ocean.
