Highly recommended

The bungalows were clean with very comfortable beds, roomy, and had great showers and aircon. Staff were so lovely and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. Very easy to book tours and taxis, even on the same day. Will definitely stay here again.

Private jungle paradise

What a fantastic stay. The bungalow was great, everything was cleaned daily and the staff was very friendly. As it wasn't a busy time of the year, we had the pool pretty much for ourselves and enjoyed the accommodation so much. The brekky was tasty and the lunch/dinner options well priced.

My room could do with some upgrades as my mosquito net was stained and had a few holes in it but it didn't bother me. I did feel that we're really far from the busy area of the island which meant fewer lunch/dinner options but that's my bad. This place was great.

Amazing value for money

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Don’t expect Ritz-Carlton standards, but for the price I paid, I couldn’t have asked for more. Even the very nice breakfast was included in the already very low room rate. The staff were very helpful and arranged both the ferry back to Bali and the taxi pickup. They can also help you book any other excursions on Nusa Penida.

Although I saw mosquito nets in other rooms, and there is a hook above the bed on the ceiling, my room didn’t have a mosquito net — which I would have preferred. Maybe it’s available on request, but it should really be standard.

Awesome stay

The staff were amazing and accommodating to our family. The facility was tidy and nice. Crystal beach is beautiful and amazing sunset.

It was a little far from the shops and clubs. About 900 m to the beach. Staff can call a cab but the road is rough.

Perfect hotel, close to Crystal Bay!

Perfect hotel, very close to Crystal Bay Beach, with standard breakfast, quite big swimming pool, very polite & reactive staff. Possibility to organize visits, snorkelling & taxi. Laundry service is also available. Cleaning is done daily, unless you ask not to clean. Some restaurants are close to the hotel. The restaurant of the hotel proposes also lunches & dinners, prices are very correct and food is good.

Except the beach, not too many activities nearby. You need a scooter or a car, if you want to visit some places.

Wonderful stay!

Our stay at this hotel was amazing! The pool area is beautiful, clean, and perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the bungalow was comfortable and well-maintained. Great location and excellent value for money – we would definitely come back!

Pleasant stay but think carefully about location

Walking distance to Crystal bay. Good value for money if looking for somewhere inexpensive. Nice little pool for a dip.

Towels and mosquito curtains on bed stained. The location was not good for eating out. We needed to get a taxi to somewhere nice which then just negated the cheaper price of accommodation. Crystal bay nice beach but strong currents meant not good for swimming. Overall wish we had stayed in main town area. We had nice meal and lovely views at Amok sunset and Penida colada but both were a decent taxi ride away costing 400 k idr each time.

Mountain view tranquil stay

Nice staff , mountain view , near by village had a gamelan music practice night with village men. It wasn’t for performing. But it was soooo good quality to lesson over the fence.

Breakfast’s scrambled eggs wasn’t so tasty. Would be good to include Indonesian breakfast options.

Chilled quiet vibe

The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Awesome pool. The bed was so comfortable and they changed sheets every day. We were there 3 days. We are 60, so wanted peace and quiet..... this is it. Remote location, but still has some amenities and 5 min walk to Crystal bay Beach. The staff arranged tours fir us, which made everything so easy. Will def be back, but for longer!!!!

We would repeat!

Everything! It is super close to the beach (walkable distance), staff super friendly, nice and clean room. Chill swimming pool. We also arranged with them the transfers from/to the harbour. Breakfast was ok. And also they have the kitchen open until night. The mosquito net was also an awesome point! They also clean everyday the room!

Sheets have some stains (yellow and old) but they were clean and smell nice. Our room was a little bit older than the others but no complains.

We really enjoyed our stay at Crystal Bay Bungalows! Beautifully designed rooms with all the necessary amenities and a beautiful garden and swimming pool in a nice setting surrounded by trees. Quiet and pleasant for a several days holiday. One of the most comfortable beds we ever slept in. Close to the Crystal Bay beach and Pandan beach by walk. The staff was very kind and efficient and helped us organise a driver to take us around the island. We really recommend this place!

Nothing seems to be working - shower was faulty, wi-fi was week, tv had no connection, food was bad, staff was rude. While we understand that nusa penida being an island has its own limitations, but all the aforementioned things are manageable.

Not great, cons out way pros massively.

-Staff were friendly, relatively quick to your concerns or problems. -Easy access to crystal bay beach -Easy to book transfers through the hotel

-Location wasn’t great, felt very secluded. No restaurants, shops and amenities near by. -The footpaths and roads aren’t developed at all, which makes it difficult to access different parts of the island, especially if you get car sick. Be careful if you rent a scooter as there are allot of accidents. -The hotel was under going maintenance when we arrived which wasn’t briefed, we accidentally both stood in wet concrete, as there was no signs to implicate the work. -The cleanliness of the room was poor, a variety of bugs were getting in the room through gaps in the ceiling, which kept us awake throughout both nights. -Restaurant was okay, serving basic food. As there is no restaurants near by, gives you no choice but to eat there - which I unfortunately got sick from. -Pool was okay but very warm not very maintained. -The transports to and from different locations were very over priced for the experience. Overall me and my partner did not have a great experience in this hotel or the location, which left us a sour taste about Nusa Penida island in general. As keen travellers we have experienced a lot better for what Indonesia as a whole has to offer. This is a very rare occasion a bad review is left from me and my partner but we have gone away feeling a little bit robbed of money for our stay.

If you are planning on doing the west side tour in Nusa Penida this is the perfect location. 5 minute walk to crystal bay beach. 30 min by car to the main tourist locations (Klingking, Angels Billabong, Broken Beach) The staff from the hotel is really nice, they helped us book a private tour on the same day :)

Was really lovely and we would stay there again.

We really enjoyed how clean this stay was, the AC worked really great, and they always came in to change the sheets and give us clean towels. The food they offered was also great, the ice coffee and their juices were awesome. It was also good walking distance from Crystal bay beach.

The water coming out of the shower smelled a little fishy. Also we booked some appointments with the spa near by and one of the spa ladies was very sick and coughing while giving massages, which made us uncomfortable.

Lovely hotel, great bang for your buck; good location for the beach; poor location for town/sites

The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful; we had a scooter accident and they provided some basic first aid equipment and were very fair regarding the charges for scooter damage, plus accommodated some slightly odd requests of mine (ex: I asked the kitchen for a bowl and salt so I could make a saline soak for some cuts!)

The room didn't have bedside lamps, so you needed to use the bight overhead ones if you wanted any light while reading or in bed. The pillows were actually too thick and no options for thinner pillows. And the road to the hotel is terrible! (not the hotel's fault of course, and I think it's under construction to be improved?) But the rough road causes some taxi's to be more expensive, and is a factor to why we crashed our scooter!

A quiet village stay

The Bungalow was a bike ride away from the Beach, walking would also be fine. The Breakfast was very basic. We had to find other restaurants to get some good lunch. Not such a huge variety, because it's the remote part of Nusa Penida. But we loved the quiet and it was wonderful to be away from the crowds that visited the beach to see the sunset. The sunset at the beach was beautiful, and the morning walk on the beach was lovely before the crowds arrived. We also enjoyed walking through the village and the coconut forest.

Nice stay but location not so good for travelling around

It was a quiet place close to Crystal Bay Beach, no mosquitoes or insects. The staff was friendly.

The room lock was not working. The jet spray of pot was way too strong. The shower wasn't working properly either and the location is a little secluded and not good to travel around the island and reach the other locations.

The best part was beyond the imagination cooperation from the staff. Food was fantastic and the nearness to crystal beach was an added advantage. Lush green atmosphere was mesmerising.
