“Haus Ankerplatz” is within walking distance of the town center of the beautiful old knight’s town of Esens, with excellent transportation connections by bus, car, or bicycle to the nearby North Sea spa town of Bensersiel and the close-by North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel. You’ll be staying on the northern edge of Esens’ town center.
The North Sea spa town of Bensersiel and the beach are only four kilometers away and are located directly within the unique natural wonder that is the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site” since 2009.
A vacation apartment in “Haus Ankerplatz” is approximately 50 square meters in size and can accommodate up to 5 people, plus an additional baby. The other two vacation apartments measure approximately 50 and 40 square meters, respectively, and are ideal for a wonderful North Sea vacation for two people or, of course, for singles as well.
All three vacation apartments feature a welcoming design, are comfortably equipped and furnished, and are very cozy. In each of the approximately 50-square-meter apartments, you’ll find everything you need for a thoroughly enjoyable vacation, such as balconies in both of the upstairs vacation apartments.
The “Kapitänskajüte” vacation apartment is particularly beautiful—we also like to call it our “wedding suite”—so perhaps you’d like to take a look around here—we’d be happy to host you for the most special days of your life. There are some truly wonderful options here for tying the knot. Ask us—we’ll give you tips on the perfect location, such as the Ancestral Hall at the town hall in Esens or the small chapel at the Sielhof in Neuharlingersiel.
It’s just a short walk from your vacation rental to the pedestrian zone, “Steinstraße,” and to the market square in Esens, the “City of Bears.” There you’ll find lovely shops for a leisurely shopping stroll, as well as plenty to browse and marvel at. There’s a wide variety of dining options, including cafes and restaurants, both indoors and outdoors.
We’d be happy to tell you all about the attractions of our cozy and charming town, which is over 475 years old and features a historic town center, as well as the “highlights” of the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel. For example, we also have plenty of events—both large and small—and museums. Or you can simply enjoy some true peace and quiet in your beautiful vacation apartment here.
For example, head north by bike through the idyllic East Frisian marshes and, if you prefer, along the “Benser Tief” to Bensersiel. This way, you’ll reach the beach at a leisurely pace and feeling refreshed.
Of course, you can also get there in just a few minutes by car, but by bike, you’ll reach the sea and Bensersiel after about 4 kilometers in a state of complete relaxation, having already breathed in plenty of healthy sea air, and you’ll be able to especially enjoy the beach and the many tourist, spa, and vacation facilities.
Our location is ideal for long walks, bike tours, and explorations of East Frisia’s unique natural landscape. This way, you can experience your North Sea vacation in an active yet relaxed way and make the most of the North Sea’s invigorating climate.
By car, you can reach Bensersiel or Neuharlingersiel in 5 to 10 minutes. You can also easily reach both of these Siel towns and North Sea health resorts by bus.
Depending on the bike route you choose, you can reach the sea in 4 to 6 kilometers in a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere; by then, you’ll have already breathed in plenty of healthy sea air and will be able to especially enjoy the beach and the many tourist, spa, and vacation facilities.
The North Sea spa town of Esens-Bensersiel has plenty to offer for relaxation, sports, and recreation—for example, beaches with playgrounds and beach chairs, swimming pools, tennis courts, surfing spots along the dike, fitness programs, beach volleyball, fishing spots, and much more.
Soak up the sun or explore the beautiful surroundings and the vast expanse of East Frisia by bike. Visit the “Nordseetherme” water park in Bensersiel, a modern, heated fun and leisure pool.
