The location was outstanding and it was very peaceful. The property itself looked attractive and was cleaned well. It was very well resourced with kitchen utensils and general amenities.

Personally, I did not find the mattress on the double bed very comfortable. It could do with replacing. Some of the sporting facilities need a bit of TLC, including the gym.

This is our second summer at the HC, we love it! No. 2 has a separate kitchen area (not open plan) which is nice. Very well equipped. Lovely aspect right on the river, with the ducks and the rabbits wandering around the lawn while you enjoy your breakfast outside. Very quiet and peaceful, like a Beatrix Potter book. The Abbey itself is so magical, the giant chessboard in the cloister and the pool in the Chapel is right out of Harry Potter! All streaming services, endless hot water, comfortable beds. Mid-stay linen change, VERY responsive staff!! When the washing machine broke down, they not only contacted the owner, ordered and installed a new washer dryer within 3 days, but also washed and dried our dirty clothes in their machines and delivered them back same day!

The small gym is in fairly bad shape- worn cables and a broken bench- this is not the responsibility of the property manager as the owners jointly pay service fees for that.

Fabulous clean, spacious and comfortable accomodation a short walk from the centre of Fort Augustus. The Monestery is set in fabulous grounds and the inside of the Monestery has been well maintained with fabulous architecture. We stayed in Courtyard Cottage 2 in the grounds overlooking a grass area and an inlet of the loch. Bunnies played outside all week. Fort Augustus is an excellent base to explore The Highlands. Nearest big supermarkets are 40 mins away in either Fort William or Inverness. There is a local spa for essentials and a petrol garage along with a pub, chinese, and various gift shops. Cashpoints available at the Spar. Highly recommend.

Nothing to dislike. We spent a lovely week here.

Hard bed, I know everyone likes different levels of comfort , but this would have been ok if recovering from a bad back maybe. We couldn’t really use the seating outside our cottage as we expected to do, we anticipated enjoying the beautiful grounds and surrounding whilst having a glass of wine or two, but the area infront of our cottage resembled a motorway service station with all the commercial vehicles. There was work being undertaken at the main building so we had 3 Ford Rangers and a Citroen bellingo parked outside, the 2 occupants of the Citroen spent most of the evening wandering about on mobile phones until 10pm Not what you wished for when I had taken my wife away for a birthday surprise. And the interior was furnished to a good standard, just a shame no one got round to finish grouting the tiles in the kitchen area or fixing the socket correctly.
