Special to sleep in an old monastry

A really special accommodation in an old monastry, with really nice facilities (lounge with snooker tables, big hall with table tennis and of course the indoor swimmingpool).

It was only possible to swim for 1 hour, so although great to have a swimming pool, be aware there is only limited use. It also took quite long before we were met to get the keys to the appartment.

Not worth the money

The apartment is very spacious with everything we needed. The location is perfect for hikes around loch ness or visiting the restaurants or pubs in Fort Augustus.

The place felt a bit outdated and could use some updates (for example damaged doors which became quite annoying), which is why it felt way overpriced. We were really disappointed that we couldn’t use the pool, as we weren’t informed in advance that a reservation was required. There was no time slot for the pool available during our stay! So even if there is a pool, it is NOT guaranteed that you can use it!

Wonderful, well presented, modern apartment. Spotlessly clean with all amenities to make your stay very relaxed and pleasant.

Getting on to the balcony a slight challenge for the less mobile, therefore better steps would be helpful. Once out there we were not disappointed, lovely view of the hills as we sipped our drinks.

Beautiful conversion of an old church, excellent location for visiting Loch Ness and the Highlands. Facilities such as swimming pool and steam room amazing, plus games room with full size snooker table.

Swimming pool only open 9-5pm, it’s not manned so not sure why it couldn’t open longer?

The property was fantastic; it was spacious and lots of lighting. The ease of access to the pool and other facilities was great for families.

We didn’t have hot water for our first couple of nights which was a bit inconvenient, but the staff were great at locating other apartments where we could shower/bathe.

Location and abbey building

Boathouse overpriced for what it delivered and seems to be missing a theme linked with the abbey and Scotland heritage .I think missing a trick here also no bar in the main abbey clubhouse. This venue could be developed into a fantastic experience instead of just relying on fabulous location.

Apartment was lovely, had everything you would need. Very clean. Swimming pool was great, we had it to ourselves. The building was very impressive. We liked the residents lounge. The grounds were lovely really quiet as well.

We booked this apartment specifically for the roof top terrace. It was really difficult to access this as it was through a small window. The size of the step up and nothing to hold onto made it really hard getting to the roof top and even harder getting down. The apartment was up lots of flights of stairs which would be a problem for someone with mobility issues as there was no lift.. This wasnt mentioned in the apartment description.

Amazing experience, facilities and value for money

Location was just next to everything really (restaurants, boat trips pier, shops, etc). Apartment was perfect for a small family, with all the facilities we would ever need for any kind of length of stay. Free parking, access to gym, swimming pool abd games room (table tennis, pool, etc) was just the cherry on top of a lovely cake. We were greeted by Mike who took his time to explain everything to us, not only about the apartment, but the surroundings and things we can do as well, amazing first impression, thank you Mike. We cannot fault anything really, an amazing experience for a first time trip to Scotland.

On the whole excellent

We really liked the property, very unusual and in a great location. Accomodation was very comfortable.

I couldn't have asked for much more, however was extremely disappointed that when I requested an extra toilet roll, was told that I had to buy it myself. 1.5 toilet rolls for 4 people for 3 days seems a little stingy.

lovely modern interior in an old famous building, very well refurbished. We loved the roof balcony very quirky and the kids loved the pool, outdoor garden chess set, tennis court and the whole estate garden looking out onto Loch Ness, such an amazing view!!

Beautiful cosy apartment. Everything you need. Spotlessly clean. Felt like a home from home wished we could stay longer. Will 100% book this apartment again. The grounds and the abbey was a peaceful retreat would highly recommend. The club room was great for playing snooker or pool. Make sure you book swimming or gym before you go as we never knew you had to do that prior to arrival. But overall this was our most favourite place to stay, church 18 room was fantastic. We will go back in the summer to make use of the private terrace which has beautiful views.

Booking the swimming and sauna and gym could have been made clearer. It wasn't easy to book this.

The setting. Very picturesque village with amenities. Apartment was quiet and well furnished. Not all facilities open due to Covid (swimming pool) but that was understandable.

We weren't told in advance we were up 55 stairs! Made carrying our food up rather hard work.(at least don't think we were told. May have missed it in the blurb) We are avid readers and the lighting was poor for that. Makes a big difference when it's pouring with rain! Towels were bare minimum size and water somewhat eccentric but once we got used to it, it was fine. Lovely shower. None of the sports facilities working but that was a Covid issue not the fault of the management

Extraordinaire !

C'est un lieu extraordinaire situé dans l'ancienne abbaye du village, à deux pas des écluses, dans un charmant village avec quelques restaurants et deux ou trois supermarchés. C'est surtout l'ensemble appartement/implantation qui est extraordinaire. La piscine, que l'on peut utiliser en s'inscrivant en ligne, est dans l'ancienne église ainsi qu'une salle où l'n peut jouer au ping pong et à des jeux de balles. L'appartement est pourvu de tout le nécessaire, grand, confortable. On a adoré !

Bijzonder en fijn verblijf!

Wat een bijzonder gebouw, een kerk en klooster bij elkaar. Faciliteiten genoeg, zwembad, schaken, tafeltennis, gym etc. Het ligt prachtig en wij hadden mooi uitzicht op de Highlands vanaf ons dakterras. Appartement was prima, wel beetje bedompt, maar alles erop en eraan. Goede wifi, goed bed en fijne douche. De slaapbank was minder, best kort en veel veren in je rug.

Misschien handig om van te voren een bericht te krijgen waar je je sleutels kunt ophalen. Er zijn meerdere recepties en best een groot gebouw. Ook is de slaapbank verouderd.
