Altana su San Marco

Great location, easy walk to San Marco Square and water taxis. Lots of bakerys, cafes and bars close by. Roof terrace was the best bit, great views over the city at breakfast or with an evening drink. Gondolas go past on the canal behind. Can watch them from the bedroom windows which was an added bonus. Owner very helpful when contacted.

La struttura era in un’ottima posizione a soli 200 metri da Piazza San Marco. Molto carina, accogliente e pulita.

Se devo essere onesta le 4 rampe di scale erano molto ripide e gli scalini erano un po’ deformati…difficoltosi con delle valigie.

The property is in a fabulous location, in a "no throughway" courtyard off a small street and so it is extremely quiet. The property is very clean, spacious and well equipped. The views from the roof garden are incredible. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is well set out. I didn't hear or see any neighbours during my time there. The views were incredible, they're is a canal that's gondola use beneath the bedroom windows and the rooftop garden has 360 views around st marks area, it really is beautiful. Access to the apartment was really easy. Although check in and out times are strict, there are nearby places to leave your bags that you can arrange independently through luggage storage facilities you can book online.

I marked down one point for the following: 1/it's a long hot journey when you first arrive in Venice and once you've climbed the approx 78 steps to the apartment it would have been nice to have a couple of bottles of water waiting in the fridge. 2/ The outside area didn't have any lighting, a couple of solar lights would have meant it could be used after dark. 3/ small niggles around the apartment: the kitchen light didn't work, the aircon needs a good service as it barely works, the hot water takes ages to reach the shower (would have been nice to be advised of this) the bidet water pressure is low. It also would have been nice to have seen the person renting to have been shown around the apartment rather than being let in remotely.

The apartment is situated in the quiet place of center region of Venice. 5 min. going afoot from the apartment — and you are at the very heart of Venice: San Marco square. 7 min. — and you are at Grand Channel’s embankment, in front of Realto bridge. The apartment uses self-check-in and self-check-out procedures, which were described by host in the e‑letter. Procedures were simple. The apartment looks very good, it is cosy and comfortable, all is really clean. Cooling worked well. Apartment has comfortable beds, separate bathroom and kitchen, all is equipped for cosy living — both for short-term and for long-term. Kitchen is equipped with all that is needed to cook everyday meal. There was no noise in the day time as also at night, so we had a good rest during all stay in apartment. Photos at Booking.com describe real situation. Wi-Fi was good. Apartment had spacious terrace above the roof with nice view to San Marco's Basilica cupolas and Bell Tower as also Clock Tower and roofs of the buildings of city centre. Terrace was beautiful place for daytime and evening rest. One more special place is the windows from the other side of apartment — look down and you will see one of the Venice channels and gondolas sliding along the channel. Due to access to terrace in the apartment, tenant should go up afoot from the street to the 3rd floor (the 1st one = ground floor), so persons with essential health restrictions should take this into account. But no problems for all the rest persons. Dear Andrea, thank you for your help with our vacations. When staying in your apartment, we felt ourselves as at home, not only as guests or tourists but also as Venice residents. We will remember good impressions from living in this apartment and highly recommend the apartment for short and long-term staying.
