Venetian Apartments

#1 thing we loved was the really cold AC! That made us look forward to going home to our Airbnb right away. When we arrived, the AC was already running so we came home to a cold apartment, and we appreciate that a lot! The location was so close to Rialto bridge. So if you want to have some photos of Rialto bridge taken with no crowd in the background, book this place! It also helps that it is on the other side of Rialto, so when the ferry dropped us off from train terminal, we didn't have to carry luggages crossing Rialto bridge. Host also sent us a lot of photo references, including map, so you wont get lost finding the place. It even sent us videos of codes. The apartment was also equipped with mini kitchen, fridge, dining table and chairs, 2 AC units, and a washing machine. The host was also responsive. I totally recommend this place!

The stairs! It has so many flights of stairs. The unit was on the third floor, I wish this info was disclosed more clearer so we can plan accordingly, especially if you are travelling with an elderly (maybe its a good thing too, less probability of theft, lol). We were also told that because of the timing of the checkout and the time the cleaning lady comes in, we have to collect all trash when we leave. Collecting trash is no problem at all, it is the finding a place to dump it while pushing luggages around was a challenge, especially if its your first time there, you don't know where things are. So maybe a garbage can 'map' or direction would be helpful. But these are minor things, and something the host cannot control or do something about. Overall, it is still a great place to stay:)

Location

The location of the apartment was the best part. It was very close to the San Marco Square and Water bus stops. Cafe was right downstairs for morning coffee. We rented the 3 bedroom apartment so the family could spread out. The kitchen had a lot of utensils and pots, but were not needed for most short stays. It was priced relatively low for area. Marco was responsive on WhatsApp for any questions.

The host sent a bunch of WhatsApp messages a few days before the stay to give information on directions to apartment and how to use some of the amenities. Most we not very helpful. Due to layout of Venice, the host should have met us somewhere and led us to the place. We struggled to find the apartment after a long journey. The host also mentioned that this was an apartment not a hotel, so some of the same things in a hotel would not be offered. When I asked about a coffee maker and coffee pods, soap for shower and extra towels, this was the response. The apartment is in an old building with a narrow staircase. The floor is inclined almost 2 inches so the bed that I was on felt like my feet were above my head, had to sleep on other side of headboard. The pillows were very thin, only one for each person, towels were one for each bedroom. The shower in each of the 2 bathrooms was very small, could not bend to apply soap to lower legs. The AC was turned off, was told to open windows instead. Complained that the noise below was too much, then AC was turned on. If ever visiting Venice again would stay in a hotel or on the mainland.
