Proud Chiang Mai Poshtel

Love the location. 10 minute walk to the old city but not a very touristy area. The food nearby is excellent, there's a few convenience stores and a couple of decent massage joints. It's fairly quiet and peaceful too. The rooms were large and spacious and clean. I stayed in 2 different rooms, the latter a little cheaper than the former. Both were fantastic, large, clean, the beds and bed sheets were fresh, clean and comfy. The tv actually works. I can't tell you how many accommodations just throw a random TV that doesn't actually get any channels on it, like it's just decoration. Staff were friendly and responsive too.

Just a minor gripe but in the slightly cheaper room on my second week, it's lacking a lamp or some kind of softer lighting (that the more expensive room had). Just makes it easier to relax in the evening or late at night. You don't want your choices being either absolute brightness or pitch dark. It's an easy fix. Also they are meant to clean your room every 3 days but for my first room I had to ask a couple of times and it didn't end up being cleaned til day 5 and with the second room they needed a bit of reminding too. This is however a very minor gripe. They did clean my room and it was fantastic, they were nice. Sometimes things are busy and stuff gets lost in the fray so it's totally fine.

Schöne Unterkunft, toller Garten und sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Wir haben bei Pon thailändisch gekocht und hatten viel Spass. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The family were so friendly. We stayed here over Christmas and were feeling a bit under the weather so kind of kept to ourselves, but we loved the common area downstairs with the Christmas tree and all, our room was comfy, and anything we needed was short WhatsApp message away. Pon was even kind enough to take us to the market and offer us the use of the kitchen if we wanted it. If we'd stayed longer, we'd have loved to have taken his cooking class. They even provided us with mosquito spray. A lovely introduction to Chiang Mai. And it felt very secure.

Maybe an extra pillow for sitting up in bed, but we didn't ask for this.

Spacious room and located in a good area of the city. Clean but nothing more to than that.

The walls were too thin and you can hear everything from the other rooms. The curtain in the bathroom fell off the wall. The staff didn't help with the bags on arrival. Whoever took the picture of the rooms did a great job of making the place look nicer than what it is. :)
