    Staying near Tha Phae Gate is honestly hard to beat. The hostel sits right inside the old city walls of Chiang Mai, making it easy to walk to many of the major attractions, cafes, and markets. It’s also a convenient base if you’re planning day trips to the mountain temples about 20 km away, such as Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and the other one. The main downside is the room door. It doesn’t have a proper lock, and there’s a noticeable gap that lets light pass through, so the room can get quite bright at night. Because of that gap, you can also hear people outside chatting or playing music pretty clearly. Also the sheets and cushion have some stains. Still, if location is your top priority, being right inside the old city near Tha Phae Gate makes it a very convenient place to stay. Just don’t expect perfect soundproofing or total darkness when it’s time to sleep.

    We stayed 3 nights here and then chose to come back for 2 nights later on in our trip, the staff are so great and help you book tours which we recommend! Everything is so clean and bathrooms are lovely. In the old town aswell. Perfect experience

    Fantastic stay here, staff are lovely and helpful and always available. Rooms are super clean and has everything you need. Location is great, close to a really cool park that has a great outdoor gym and activities and walkable to most of ancient town in chiang mai. Only downside is some loud guests but staff can’t help that.
