Coach house review

The location was great to walk into Lincoln. The accommodation had convenient parking. The coach house has a good cosy feel, was warm and generally clean.

Would be safer with a carbon monoxide alarm ( didnt see one) for additional safety as the boiler was upstairs in a locked cupboard. Would be better if the mirrors in the bathroom not supported by blue tack in position!

A very comfortable, well-situated place to stay. I would have no problem in recommending this place to others.

Everything. Except the broken washer. But the owner apologised and recommended a nearby launderette.

Great one night stop for uni drop off!

Nice clean property, quite spacious.

Fridge/freezer was not working, however later advised it was switched off by the cleaners (the switch is on the opposite side of the kitchen in case anyone else has this.) A slight issue with the en-suite shower leaking through to downstairs on first use. Reported this to the owner as such a shame for the decor! Saying that the owner was in contact and hopefully they will have sorted that issue!

Location was great as was the space in the accommodation and the response to any queries from the owners

There were a few bits that could do with updating, i.e., the curtains were faded and bits were falling off one of the bedrooms. The towel rail could do with fixing a bit better in the bathroom.

Pleasant overnight stay

Comfortable beds and sofa. Plenty of bath and toilet facilities and good kitchen.

A little more attention to detail on cleaning would have been better but owner did apologise after 'items' from previous occupants were found.

Great place to stay to visit Lincoln

Great size bedrooms with a bathroom each. Spacious lounge and dining room. Excellent location, lovely walk into Lincoln along canal. Close to several small supermarkets for provisions Parking was excellent, on the level, loads of room

Could do with a few more bits in the kitchen. Small knives for cutting fruit veg etc. Otherwise that's it.

Great location and easy to find. Had good facilities in the house, and very clean and tidy.

Can't remember if the description mentions steep stairs. It wasn't a problem for us but if it doesn't then it should be mentioned. Only found the spare pillows when we were leaving. Should be a note to explain where the spare pillows and towels are stored. Minor points though..

Very pleasant, comfortable stay in a location with an enjoyable walk along the canal to the city.

The townhouse (no down-stair rooms) was located on a modern private estate located almost adjacent to a canal (fosse). The canal walkway led directly into the modern part of the city which had all the regular shops, a cinema and restaurants which were located adjacent to the canal basin. It was very picturesque with swans, ducks and geese with their young, all leisurely floating along the canal. It was a pleasant walk on a fine day. From this modern area of the city it was a pleasant walk uphill to the old quarter where the cathedral and castle were located. It’s quite a steep climb but there is parking near the castle which includes several disabled bays. There was plenty of parking, although not allocated, outside the townhouse. The house itself had all the facilities required with plenty of seating, utensils and crockery. It was decorated in a modern style with a New York theme. You can see the cathedral in the distance from the bedroom windows and of course you can see the canal aswell. We found the timed, coded, lock easy to use. The instruction provided by email were easy to follow and the correspondence with the owner was quick and pleasant. We had a very pleasant short stay.

Although we should complete this section it’s hard to think of anything we did not really like. However, for completeness I mention a couple of ideas that may help future visitors. The gap at the window side of the bed in the front bedroom is quite narrow. If the wardrobe was turned 90 deg to be on the adjacent wall the bed could be moved further away from the wall. A guide to the TV functions would be helpful as it is only WiFi connected so no terrestrial aerial or stations. However most of these stations can be found on the Smart channels, but oldies like us are not that familiar with this approach. We obtained a free map from the Tourist office and these can be downloaded on-line. A few printed copies left in the hall with the route to the city marked would be helpful.

Great location, but could be so much better with a bit more thought and attention to detail.

Location was great, lovely walk along the canal towpath to the city centre. Quiet neighbourhood. Lounge area very comfortable with plenty of seating. Beds were comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Kitchen was very sparsely equipped for 4 people, no teaspoons ( we went out and bought some, which we left for the next people), salt and pepper containers were completely empty. Very little cooking equipment in general. Could do with some bedside lamps in bedrooms. No hand towel in toilet, and not enough towels in both bathrooms. No instructions or guides for house or area, unlike most places we have stayed. We noticed a lot of these issues were previously raised by other reviewers, but have not been addressed.
