The Perfect Seaview Escape

Reluctant to book due to low number of reviews at first, we were very positively surprised. Everything was as advertised. This is an agency-managed property. The apartment is located off-centre of Vlore and outside of the main hustle and bustle on the 2nd floor of a block of flats at the end of a street. Parking possible on the street free of charge and we always found a space, even late in the evening. The block was very calm at the time of our stay, even no street noise was present, and seemed predominantly residential. Other tenants were very friendly. There was a party on Friday evening in a nearby-hotel, but the music was not disturbing inside the apartment and it was completely turned down at a reasonable time in the evening. The apartment is fully equipped and has many cooking utensils one could need, including dishwashing fluid, a sponge, kitchen cloths, etc. The washing machine was very handy. A/C worked flawlessly. The beds are large and very comfortable, blankets are available. Bedlinen and towels were freshly washed and smelled nice. Ample towels were provided, they were new and very soft. The view from the balcony was gorgeous. The agent was very responsive and provided very good advice on markets, beaches worth seeing, etc. Keys handover was smooth at arrival and departure. At the beginning of the street, 5 min. descent away, there is a decent minimarket with daily fresh bread, cereals, drinks, ice cream, fruits.

Nothing, really, just a few notes for those with different expectations: The block is located above the street on a steep hill and does not have a lift. Apartment is accessible only via steps. Parking space is one floor below the ground floor, so one effectively has to manage three floors on foot - this is a problem for disabled. The walk to the minimarket requires a steep descent and ascent back to the flat. If you intend to work (like myself), be aware that although the internet was generally good and better than in most other areas, no flawless service should be expected. Apart from occasional drop-outs, business videoconference calls via Teams could be decently managed, but Viber calls were stuttered all the time. Do know that while everything was meticulously clean, here and there, signs of ageing are visible. The nearest beach is some 10-15 min on foot away at the exit of the street tunnel. The strip of sand you can see on the google maps just below the block is private and closed for public. We wanted to stay in a calm area off-center and planned to drive to different beaches every day. The location was perfect for that. However, without a car, the location is not very convenient - you are neither within walking distance to the strip with bars and restaurants nor to any decent beach.
