Phoenix Rise Retreat

This is my second time staying at Phoenix, and there couldn't be a better place in Glastonbury! The facilities and Julian's work are wonderful! I always choose them again!

Julian and Danielle were very friendly, helpful & welcoming. The house and our room was very clean. It was peaceful and in perfect distance to visit Glastonbury Town . My room was on the ground floor and I had plenty of room to use my walking frame to get into the house & and ground-floor room.

Close to Tor. Parking.

Thin walls and noise on stairs at night. Thin curtains and security light directly outside coming on throughout the night. Limited breakfast options. Cook your own eggs, load the dishwasher.

All very clean /beds comfortable

Great location to climb the Tor.

More basic than we were expecting but still a lovely little spot to stay.

Julian has made this house an upgraded home from home. Each room has its own gentle, relaxing yet uplifting theme with a mix of hotel chic with contemporary splashes. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom and shower lovely, and the touches like a comfy chair at the window (overlooking the most amazing views) were excellent. The breakfast room was well stocked with 'help yourself' cereals, yogurt, jams and honey etc, gluten free options and fresh brown bread, cook your own eggs, and a well stocked crockery cupboard, alongside and excellent selection of teas and fresh coffees. You need to wash up yourself, but that's part of the fun :) The intimate garden has a walking labyrinth and relaxing chairs, and is set back off the in road to Glastonbury town, around a 15-20 minute pleasant walk to the high street, and literally 100 yards from the edge of the foot of the Glastonbury Tor (woodland and hillside walk with breathtaking 360 degree viewpoint). Julian was really accommodating with letting us leave luggage safely on the last day till the afternoon, and extremely helpful with contact numbers for taxi rides. Thanks for a great stay :)

The room had spectacular views from the bedroom window, of Somerset . Clean, quiet and bright room

Bedroom, beds, not acceptable to have a shower in the bedroom at the end of the bed!! Disgusting. Black areas all over the floor where water has obviously damaged it. Paid the same amount as friends who all had separate bathrooms. Not healthy breathing in all condensation and mould from the shower next to the bed!! No where to hang towels. No where to put shower gels etc in shower, hanging space for clothes a few coat hangers on the wall behind the door. Mattress awful. Kept waking up each time I moved as felt was rolling out of bed as mattress higher in the middle. Such a noisy room and location. Awake until 2om each night ftom the noise. No where to park. Would not recommend at all. Should in no way have to pay the same amount as others either real bathrooms!! Will take further.

The experience of my staying eas an overall pleasant 4 nights. It was a nice house, light and cosy at the same time. The people, everyone from Julian the manger to the other people stayng there was nice ones and easy to connect to and I found both Julian and other guests helpful and created a good atmosphere. There was a tiny very nice garden to sit in as well, love that!

Maybe a bit thin walls, but nothing to worry about.

Position was good, near white spring and Tor and off main road

No welcome when arrived. You had to find your breakfast and find out where things were to make porridge yourself, not enough fresh options available like berries or honey. Didn’t bother with breakfast on last morning.

Love it. Every moment. So close to the Tor. The vibe, thank you Julian. It's the kind of place that you'll go, and go, and go, and go again. My girlfriend's birthday present. Glastonbury. To take her first steps on her journey. Couldn't have asked for more.

Not much organic food. The Walking road to the centre is first a bit noisy and full of traffic.

Gorgeous house with helpful, kind and friendly host! Delicious breakfast ! Close to the centre and the Tor! 100% recommend.

Loved the welcoming host, Julian who gave us a guided tour up the Tor! Great location to explore Glastonbury & a real experience, cosy room.

The bed was too soft for me so I didn’t sleep very well. They could do with being slightly wider & firmer mattresses.

The property is within walking distance of the town centre and very close to Glastonbury Tor. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the option to use the communal area and breakfast room.

Julian who works there was amazing very friendly welcoming. There was a lot of variety for breakfast and even a big fridge so I was able to buy food and make snacks when I was back at the property. I travelled alone and felt safe staying there. Brilliant location at the bottom of the Tor

A quiet and calm house. The owners went out of their way to welcome us and make sure we had all we needed. We would love to have stayed longer and will definitely be back.

Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und die Auswahl umfangreich. Man trifft immer nette und hilfsbereite andere Gäste zum Plaudern dort, es ist sehr familiär und gemütlich.

Das Zimmer im dritten Stock ohne Aufzug. Habe Knieprobleme und Schmerzen beim Laufen, ein Zimmer im EG wäre besser gewesen.

Super Lage unterhalb des Tor. Weg vom Trubel und doch alles fußläufig zu erreichen. Zum Apfel durch ruhige Wege oder am Hügel entlang, Chalice Well knapp 10 minuten.Julian war sehr hilfsbereit und hat unsere Gruppe mit Insider Tipps versorgt. Wenn erwas zum Frühstück ausging wurde es sofort ausgefüllt. Die Zimmer sind alle unterschiedlich und sehr süß eingerichtet. Alles sehr sauber. Toll auch der Garten den wir für Meditationen nutzen konnten. Wir werden wieder kommen!

De badkamer van 2 m2. Dat is toch wel erg krap voor douche, toilet en wasbak.

Il luogo è splendido! Julian è un perfetto padrone di casa, sempre attento ad ogni necessità del gruppo. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati dal primo all’ultimo giorno! Ritorneremo sicuramente! 🌟

La ubicación, el entorno, la casa y Julian fueron excepcionales. Muy contentos de haber elegido este lugar tan mágico para nuestro grupo.
