Centrally located hotel with easy access to everything in Street. Friendly and helpful staff and an excellent breakfast. Would not hesitate to stay here again when in the area.
Rooms in the annexe could do with an upgrade.

The bar and overall ambiance was really nice, it is pleasant place to hang out and meet up with folk, the satff are ace, really helpful, and very positive; always cheery and engaging. The bedrooms have plenty of room, well presented and are clean throughout, moreover on a cold weekend the rooms and bar area were all very cozy and warm. . . . .great location, easy parking, and so I will definately stay here again.
The food - sadly - was disappointing, the eating area is really well done, but the food did not live up to expectations - I am sad to say this but hopefully someone will take note and imporve the offer and the quality.

Comfy bed, clean room and warm.
Shabby, dirty entrance, accommodation was a walk from thr Bear Inn in a converted row of cottages door to block was dirty with chipped paint, entrance hall had worn carpets and chipped paint, door to room chipped paint, guest sofa bed very stained, bathroom woodwork totally rotten, radiator rusted top to bottom from dripping soap dispenser, bed had wrong size mattress for the base, duvet was the wrong size for the bed and the duvet cover was the wrong size for the duvet. Shabby, dirty windows not painted for years, search light from the building behind kept us awake.

The food was good
They had a great offer on food,40%off main meals
Which was very good
The only ground floor rooms they have are not in the building
But they are just down the road

Good spacious rooms for a good price, very convenient location.
Bathrooms weren’t the cleanest (dusty rather than dirty though). And the soap and shower gel were very industrial.

Nice spacious room, although rather short of storage space. Good lighting, plenty of sockets. Good shower & bath, with good hot water. Nice staff (everybody), and a good ambience in bar/restaurant area. Easy parking - but don't forget to log your reg number!
Lack of storage space in room (9) - plenty of actual space, but no drawers or cupboard - just a hanging space & alcove. Room 9 is in the roof space, so hanging space is the only solution, but some drawers and a suitcase stand would be nice.
Slightly odd mirror position in bathroom too, for same reason.

The room was a generous size and very warm. However, the bedroom could have been cleaned of the cobwebs hanging down the sides of the walls and curtains. The bed linen was clean and the bathroom was very clean too.
The reason I put a low score on staff is NOT because of the bar staff and the lovely lady who checked us in, but the night manager and the manager of the hotel.
During our 1-night stay, we had switched off the lights to go to sleep about 11.30. We were woken at 12:30am by two other female guests outside our door in the hallway screaming, laughing, shouting and so drunk and verbally vulgar, they could not get up the stairs. I asked them politely but firmly to 'please keep it down' but they took no notice whatsoever and started swearing and becoming a more verbally abusive. The lady in the room next to us also told them to quieten down. This continued for an absolute minimum of 30 - 40 minutes. I called to hotel number - no reply. The lady next door called the night line number - no reply. In the end, the guest next door called the police. After the drunk pair, who seemed to be a mother and daughter duo, got upstairs, they were screaming, laughing and banging around until finally about 1.15AM they became silent.
In the morning, we complained to the lady on the check in desk and she assured us that the Manager would get in touch. He never did !!!! We called to speak to him over 7 times over the next few days but it is clear we are being avoided.
What if these guests had been younger or male and had become physically abusive to me and the lady next door? What if there had been a different kind of emergency? The night manager never answered the phone from TWO ROOMS!
Simply appalling and I would never stay here again. It is a shame because the location is perfect, the bar staff are really lovely ! But when we needed assistance in the middle of the night, the hotel could not be bothered !!!

Location perfect for visiting nearby Glastonbury & Wells, as well as shopping in Street. Free parking was easy at the back of the hotel. Staff were friendly, especially the lady in the restaurant. All food was good, including the breakfasts. Beautifully decorated for Christmas.
We had a bathroom which was in need of an update - bath panel was damaged & some repairs were needed. Water drained very slowly from bath making having a shower quite unpleasant.

Location for Clarks village.
We stayed in the blossom rooms. The toilet did not flush. It would appear that the staff were aware of this. They said that it should have been repaired that day but no one turned up. Also the sink was leaking, water on the floor. We should not have been put in that room. It was not fit for purpose. Please see attached photos.
However, the staff were very generous in giving us compensation.
