Needs more crockery and cutlery. No wood for log burner provided (eg a small starter bundle) and could have done with some snuggly blankets in the living room

It was a well equipped lodge in a remote location , tv with Netflix was good , all crockery and cooking equipment including dishwasher and washer dryer included
It was a bit strange that in addition to the price and after paying £120 for cleaning in advance that the cottage stipulates that we put all bins out, beds to be stripped of sheets and put in washing machine , crockery in dishwasher etc it begs the question what does the cleaner do ? . If they wanted to up the price it would have been better to include the £120 in the overall price , obviously a well paid cleaner . Also if dogs isn’t your thing don’t assume because the rules say no pets that the other cottages don’t have dogs because unfortunately they do have dogs

Great location, clean and comfortable family lodge , excellent value for money , a lovely base to explore the wonderful
Fantastic peaceful location. Gentle hill behind, Green open space with even a running , burbling stream right behind the lodge was fantastic. There were birdsongs to wake up to in the morning , enjoy a cup of tea in the patio and listen to the water , absolutely delightful. The place was easy to find, on the road from Ambleside and a short drive from the Hawkshead village with Visitor information centre and Co- op store to get most supplies. We made it a base to explore from . Good hiking and walking , Coniston lake and all the wonderful scenery to enjoy. The lodge was very clean and comfortable , good kitchen facilities, even a log fire we used every evening. You can buy fire logs at the Co-Op shop . Hosts were responsive, gave clear instructions . Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers had a very comfortable stay. (5 nights).Tea / coffee ,Washing supplies, soaps etc very thoughtfully provided , along with cooking utensils, chopping board, knives, cutlery. Fridge freezer,Dishwasher and washer dryer provided. There is smart Tv though we only watched news but it has ability to connect to streamers with your own account log in. I would highly recommend the place. Excellent value for money too.
One of the bathroom sink plugs got stuck so could not be used. Owners responded immediately and apologised . This did not cause problems as the other bathroom was fine for us to share. No instruction manual for washer dryer though we got there with trial and error, and it worked out fine.
