Outstanding quality and attention to detail. Very clean, very private, absolutely beautiful view from every window. Very cosy and warm, high spec equipment and facilities. Our dealings with Yanxia (mostly) and Dave were warm, friendly and very helpful in accessing local beauty spots. Thank you for the lovely welcome basket, it was a lovely gift which we appreciated ♥️. I would recomnend this to anyone, it really is a place that exceeds expectations and will leavd you feeling relaxed and rested.

The location and hosts are absolutely faultless, it was relaxing, private and quiet and the hosts were welcoming, chatty and helpful. The lodge is warm and comfortable and a little hamper was provided and greatly appreciated! We liked that we were able to cook for ourselves using the hob and combi microwave. There was seating outside the lodge and lights that came on a night so we were able to sit outside and enjoy a drink. There was also seating outside the main BnB with views overlooking the hills and Esthwaite water.
There was very little we didn't like, if I had to be picky, the bed was a bit harder than we usually enjoy and we didn't sleep amazingly. Also it wasn't 100% clean when we got in but there was also no hoover or brush to tidy ourselves. And just to add the coffee machine was a drip pot and would've preferred instant or a pod machine but did bring my own so it wasn't too bad.

Amazing location for all amenities, & places to visit.
Very quiet, peacefully. You don't hear anything
If you want to escape from everything (noise, people, traffic) , this is the number 1 location.
If anything, the trees & branches around the property could be pruned down to give extra light in as well as more of the amazing scenery in & around the property.

The guest house was so beautiful and peaceful and isolated. We were given a very friendly and helpful introduction from the hosts. A very nice welcome basket and Wine were gratefully recieved.
The surrounding areas are beautiful and the walks are amazing with breathtaking views.

We enjoyed everything about our trip to High Grassings, the Summer House was beautiful, elegant, exceptionally clean, good facilities, and the hosts were absolutely delightful, happy to have a chat with us or just give a friendly wave as we passed on our adventures. The scenery is stunning, and even though the house is also a B&B, the summer house was lovely and secluded and so so peaceful, it felt like we were all alone. And to top it all off, upon arrival we received a hamper with some lovely nibbles, a bottle of wine, and a stocked fridge which we were not expecting at all. Thank you so so much for a wonderful holiday. Off the beaten track, but close to some beautiful villages and lovely pubs, you cannot go wrong staying here.
There is nothing we can complain about, if you love peace and quiet, tranquillity and privacy, we thoroughly recommend a stay with the most wonderful hosts

Such friendly and welcoming hosts. The welcome hamper was really lovely. Enjoyed seeing the peacock and hens roam the garden. Would thoroughly recommend, thank you!

Cozy and comfortable. Nice interior design. Lovely animals, chickens cats dog and peacock. Very friendly host.
The shower could have had better pressure on the hot setting. Cold setting pressure was fine.

Clean and tidy and was lovely to receive a complimentary bottle of wine, macarons, milk and bread
No Wi-Fi in the property, we were only told when we got there and there was no mobile signal either.
The view wasn’t as advertised. Once you left the building and went into the common area it was nice but nothing to see from the building. The bed was very uncomfortable

our hosts were very nice and Carey’s breakfasts were lovely. it was a very quiet location and private
the access to the cottage was not good. the gravel path was on a slope and there were no proper steps up to the cottage. I actually fell one day and getting luggage up to it was hard. the bed needs a new mattress as it sinks in the middle and is also quite a small bed for tall people. sadly the shower was so small it was very difficult to shower in without hitting your arms on the sides. it was lucky we weren’t fat people as we would not have fitted into it

The property is set in a sweet area of the Lake District with views from all over the property. The cabin has all the facilities to make an enjoyable and relaxing stay and the treats left in the fridge and bottle of red wine were a surprise that was most welcome, and delicious, after a long day’s drive. David and Carey were so lovely to chat with and shared all their local knowledge about the surrounding areas for us to enjoy. They were wonderful hosts and we really had a lovely stay with them.

A cosy, secluded cabin with lovely views, accessible to nearby towns and villages with a very accommodating host. Perfect for a few nights of solitude for one or two people.

ideal for 2 people, very quiet location, stunning views and lots of walks straight from the property, cabin was well appointed with everything we needed, and very cosy.
if you are elderly or have mobility issues it would be a challenge getting to the property as the hill is quite steep and only has steps and gravel right at the front of the cabin, we were fine but it was very slippy and we had to be cautious and watch our footing. it was very well lit with security lighting

What a wonderful stay we had in a beautifully tranquil setting. The self catered lodge has everything you need for a secluded break and is ideally situated for walks and visits to the nearby lakes and villages. Hosts were so welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay in the lodge. It is our first time staying in a lodge and we will definitely do it again! It was so cosy, the decor was beautiful and we enjoyed the ability to cook for ourselves. The electric heating was just right. Thank you for such a lovely and welcoming stay

Fantastic little apartment in an excellent location. Stunning views and with easy access to multiple activities such as cycle hire, hiking with the hostoric Wray castle only 10minutes away. Parking available on site
As for amenities in the apartment, everything was provided including utensils and cooking ware. Plates and cups with a coffee machine and modern microwave oven and induction hob. Bin bags a tea towel with cleaning products and cleaning cloth. All we brought was food
Very warm electric heaters and a chromecast compatible television in the bedroom.
Very welcoming hosts whom are very friendly and provided us with all the relevant information and a guide book as well as complementary milk, croissants and festive chocolates on our arrival.
5* hosts and accomodation coming highly recommended. Will definitely be visiting in the spring/summer (we went in winter)
Thank you both!

Headed to this delightful place for a very well needed break away from it all. The lodge itself is warm and cosy, the right size for a couple wanting to enjoy a romantic getaway. Being self catered gave us the option to stay in during the dark, cold, wet evenings and enjoy cooking gorgeous homecooked food which I don't usually get the time to do at home. Loved being greeted with prosecco and gorgeous chocolates too as well as a few basics, milk, bread and fruit. The hosts couldn't do too much for us and insisted on helping with bags in arrival despite the horrible weather. The option to sit in the B and B too next door of an evening was also lovely. Thank you!
Due to bad weather a lot of my clothes got wet and it was hard to dry them (especially trying to keep the place really clean and tidy too), so somewhere for drying clothes would be good. Also instructions in the lodge for the appliances would be helpful too, although thankfully the hosts were super helpful and showed me when asked.

The location of this property was perfect, for our first time in the Lake District it was a lovely place to stay. Everything was close to us. The owners of the property was very helpful and nice. I would recommend this and we will certainly go back here in the future.
