Arlington House Hotel - Self Check-In Suites

Location is perfect, room was clean ish.

I hope this comes accross as constructive as I have enjoyed staying here over the years and would hate to terminate that. I believe Arlington House has recently changed hands from being independently run to being run by a company and unfortunately this was reflected during my stay. My code did not work and I had to wait outside in the cold until someone from the company called me back to help me. They had obviously never stepped foot in the hotel as they were telling me to look for a lockbox outside even though I told them it didn't exist. They then told me it didn't work because I said on my booking I wasn't arriving until 8 and it was before that so my code hadnt been activated. But looking back at my booking I put down 6pm so not sure where that came from. Eventually I did get in. I had to use the key from the room lock box to get in and out as the room keypad did not work (low battery perhaps). There was no washing up liquid, and clearly there had been no washing up liquid for quite some time as the plates and wine glasses in the cupboard were dirty. There was also no glasses only wine glasses. One thing I remember clearly about the previous owners is the corridor smell was lovely - always a reed diffuser on every stairs, but now they just sit there empty. The dryer downstairs was filthy, I couldn't get all the fluff out as it had hardened onto the catcher. The whole place just felt really impersonal and was quite obviously ran by a company rather than an individual. Previous owners used to send a little guide book as well with local suggestions and info but that's gone as well now.

Not been locked out of the accommodation 1hr prior to alloted time

Great little room! Good location and a great stay

Room was nicely furnished

Top floor, toiletries were empty, minimal coffee pods(2), no tea. Window rattled with the wind all night.
