Alnwick Lodge West Cawledge Park

The venue was great, and we loved the quirkiness of the building. The flowers and the courtyard was beautiful, the themed room names and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Not necessarily what we didn't like, but it just felt a little lacking in finish. When we arrived the arrival bit was unclear, there is a barrel that says entrance and then a laminated piece of paper that tells you to go across the courtyard. We did and ended up back where we started. The duvet's were lumpy and the mattress wasn't that comfy. The young girl who was new in the kitchen was doing a really good job, she was clearly nervous however the other team members could have encouraged her rather than taking the pad and paper from her and taking over. Price was probably a little higher than expected for what we got, but then location was perfect for our travel plans.

Large shared breakfast tables. Small room. Noisy room when people above moved around. Located outside of Alnwick with difficult exit/entry directly onto A1

Friendly clean and tidy Good breakfast

Beds was to soft not comfy

Quiet with parking.

Location was close to Alnwick town centre and the Garden attractions but involved crossing the A1, which at times was challenging.
