The lodge is situated in a quiet area, surrounded by native fauna. We enjoyed listening to the sounds of the different birds and the view from the kitchen BBQ area. The kitchen was well-equipped. The room was adequate to meet our needs. Great that they had a pool.
No air conditioner in the room. Restless nights due to the mugginess. Mosquitoes are a big problem, although they did have a warning notice in the booklet.
I don't mind that pets are welcome, but I would recommend keeping dogs on a leash.

Parking was good, Water pressure was very good in my unit, and sheets where clean and they had a decent amount of coffee/tea sachets available to use
Driveway to the Lodge off the main road was abit rough with potholes, and the sign outside on road wasn't lit up so couldn't see where it was, had to use GPS in car, Pool hadn't been cleaned, by the looks for at least a couple of months so couldn't use it, cock roaches running around on the bathroom floor, my toilet had a slow leak onto the floor causing a small puddle, had to use force to open the sliding door to the unit, it was rusty or needed maintenance, the kitchen cook tops were so rusty some of them were chipping off from the deterioration, could smell plastic when you boiled the jug

We were cycling the Twin coast cycle trail. The room was clean and comfortable, communication with staff excellent. We had everything we needed. It is almost on the cycle trail, about 2k before/after Opua.

We did not have breakfast
It was very hot throughout the night and I would have left the bathroom window open but for the fact it could have been used to access the rooms from outside. I might be nearly 76, but I remember from teenage years how easy windows were to enter home when my Dad locked the doors at midnight!

Location was just ok but otherwise nothing good
The room had bad smell, there was not a single hook to hang clothing, nothing to hold shampoo in shower, beds were so low it was hard to get up,
Communication was below normal

I enjoyed the swimming pool and the room and bed was comfortable for my liking and enjoyed my stay at Pinelodge.
The motel is a bit on the old side of things but overall it was comfortable and I don't really have anything bad to say about it.

Lovely quiet place with an outside picnic table. The shower was hot and fast. Nice and close to Paihia. Nice and warm in unit. Nice bed covers.
No wifi inside room. Out dated decor. Pillows were hard with 2 pillows in 1 pillowcase. Bed a bit hard. Wasn't like a lodge it was more like a motel without a fridge and microwave. Ranchslider curtains could have been hung nicer. A very small tv with only 1 channel. Swimming pool was dirty.

It had character, comfy and accomadated my big whānau. If I could koha time and resources to this place I would as it has so much potential. The cosy hub served its purpose to aide our bodies while we worked all day. It was also very safe.
I did miss that there was no mini fridge in the room to keep our drinks cool. However we survived.

It was peaceful and quiet. It had a pool and it was to be honest, cheap and I was on a budget. For the price there was a pool too!The room was clean, the bed was well made and clean. The shower pressure was fantastic and tea/coffee making facilities were good too. The lodge kitchen was clean and good fridge. Cooking facilities were good too and a nice environment. We had a problem with a broken windows latch so the room wasn't secure, after a text, we came back to see it fixed. Great service thank you. All in all it was great for the price and good location to Kawakawa and Paihia. Give this place a go, support it so they can get it it back into the glory days. It is a good stop in. The photos are true indicator.
It wasn't a horrible stay, but it was "run down" and needed a spruce up, which I could see happening, mostly in the units you could see refurbishment. Would love a small fridge as I had to keep going back to the kitchen to fetch milk for a cuppa. My double bed was horrid to sleep on, and I could feel and hear the springs with every movement, but the second bed in the room was lovely to sleep on. All in all, it was a great stay for the price, and the location was good too. It was so peaceful and not used for emergency housing, like I had been told. It was safe and good.

Not much.
Infested with hornets. I got stung 3 times. I requested an invoice and I’m still waiting. The road out is terrible. There is a huge ditch to get back in the main road. Only the girl cleaning the rooms were nice.
