The advantages and disadvantages are both obvious.

The bed is comfortable. The room ist exactly the same as in the photo. „Well equipped“ in bathroom— 30+ bottles of shampoos and gels. The place is a typical local resident, good to experience the local‘s life.

It is really too loud. The house is divided with plasterboard and drywall, so every tiny sound is 10X louder. The host tries hard to maintain the quietness between 22-8, sadly it doesn’t work. Even with the biggest circumspection, everyone still disturbs the others and being disturbed while receiving the reminders from host, very upsetting. Every night sleep with the alarm from neighbour(?) and the ensemble from dogs…

Basic but decent accommodation in a somewhat sad suburb

The host, Daniel, was flexible with check-in. The room was clean and modern with lots of space for clothes hanging and the bed was very comfortable. The area was relatively quiet. There was some water and glasses and small snacks provided on the first day. The shared bathroom was clean and spacious. It was comfortable enough for a couple of nights. An iron and board were provided on request and there was a hairdryer and European to UK/IE plug converter in the room.

No coffee or tea in the morning, or any time, sadly. The kitchen and living room area were off limits to guests and although we heard people coming and going, and heard the hosts in the kitchen as we were leaving one morning, we never saw anybody and this felt a bit strange and impersonal. We kind of felt like we should make ourselves as quiet and invisible as possible. It's all very automated, though that also makes if convenient. The area is a bit rough and remote. Even the closest shop is something like a 15 minute walk. Having breakfast in the morning was a challenge. After we checked ourselves out we heard nothing more from the host. Daniel told me he would lend me a Leap Card but I guess he forgot and I had to buy one. We still don't know who lives there. It felt more like a cross between an Airbnb and a hostel than a homestay really. Everything from IKEA, even the wall art, which was a bit depressing. Also, there was no fan.

The host was very friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and got to use the kitchen for breakfast which was great. Neighbourhood felt safe and the public transportation was convenient. The fact that the bathroom is shared wasn’t a problem.

Be aware you are booking a bedroom in a person's current living space.

The bed was nice, and they clearly tried to make the room welcoming.

It should have been clear on the website that this is in somebody's house. When I've booked shared residences in the past, the whole building is segmented rooms that are individually booked out or the person living there is away from the rented space and you don't share a space. When we got there, it was clearly just somebody's house, and there was a person in the living room playing video games with volume, camera, and mic on. This was not what we expected. The wifi was too slow to watch anything, and although the host can't control other people in the house, people came in at 11:30pm dragging their cases up the stairs, then reorganized their closets to which we heard metal hangers scraping against the metal bar, they continuously slammed the wardrobe doors, got in a fight, threw up violently then took 4 back to back showers. They finally quieted around 1:30am. There were kids in the park across from the residence setting off small fireworks for hours on end - I'm impressed they had so many fireworks. There were two dogs close by that barked incessantly all night, and I think the host has pets they didn't tell about on the booking website because my clothes were covered in short hairs from the bed, and my allergies were acting up. The mini fridge was not plugged in, so it smelled gross when you opened it, and there was some pink and sticky liquid on the shelves that was starting to smell rancid. If I had known what I was signing myself up for, I don't think I would have booked the space. But it's a fair price for being close to the airport.

My expectations were very different bae

The room itself was comfortable, and the host was nice.

1) The shared bathroom was not clean. The sink would not drain, and the bathtub was dirty. 2) I did not realize based on the description in booking.com that this is a house, with the rooms being booked as a bed and breakfast style description. There were two other people in the two other bedrooms of the house. Both were loud and used very bad language - I’m traveling with my 10-year-old daughter and this language late at night was not appreciated. 3) I was told we could use the kitchen to prepare our own breakfast. There was food in the trash can that had been there for a while, and cigarette butts had clearly been emptied into another trash can. All surfaces were dirty, and it was not very usable. 4) we were kept up until late in the evening by dogs barking loudly. If I were 20 years old wanting to book rooms in a hostel-like environment, I would have had no problem with this place - however, then I would have found it exceedingly expensive. My experience here simply did not justify the price. I think the description should be updated to explain a bit better. I would not have booked this place if I had known what it actually was - it’s not appropriate for traveling with a child.

Nice and helping staff.

The house was very nice and clean. The owner made our stay better by leaving some snacks and drinks in our dorm. Every time we needed help he was there/he responded imediatly.

Das Bett war seht bequem und das Zimmer war schön eingerichtet mit einer tollen Atmosphäre. Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und der Preis angemessen. Es war ruhig und der Check-in war mehr oder weniger unkompliziert.

Bis zum Stadtzentrum fährt man etwa 40 Minuten mit dem Bus. Man musste ein wenig durch den Privatbereich des Besitzers bis zu seinem Zimmer. Das Badezimmer wird mit anderen geteilt, was aber auch so deklariert wurde.

Non ci siamo sentiti sicuri nel quartiere in cui la Homestay si trova; non è a 5km dall’aeroporto ma a una decina; per cenare nei dintorni non c’è assolutamente niente (il pub indicato indicato a 650m é in realtà a 2-3km); il costo della camera è troppo alto per la zona in cui si trova e visto che il bagno è in comune

Ho scelto questa struttura perché abbastanza vicina all'aeroporto. Tuttavia arrivarci con i mezzi pubblici non é agevole e anche per tornare in aeroporto occorre prendere due mezzi impiegando quasi un'ora. La struttura, comunque, é gradevole, silenziosa e comoda.

Die Unterkunft war bis ins Detail schön und praktisch eingerichtet. Wir hatten alles zum Duschen zur Verfügung bekommen und es wurde uns Wasser neben dem Bett bereitgestellt. Der Gastbeger ist sehr freundlich und flexibel. Er hat steht’s darauf geachtet, dass es uns gut geht.

Zimmer mit Gemeinschaftsbad

Leider mussten sich drei Zimmer ein Bad teilen, was unangenehm war. Zwischendurch hat ja Niemand sauber gemacht. Die Wände waren sehr dünn und es war hellhörig. Es gab keinen Fön und nur je ein Handtuch pro Person. Die Servicekraft war leider auch nicht vor Ort, was es schwierig gemacht hat nach solchen Dingen zu fragen. Man konnte aber gut per WhatsApp kommunizieren. Das Wohnzimmer und die Küche durfte man nicht betreten. Es gab nicht die Möglichkeit Frühstück dazu zu buchen. Die Lage war leider nicht gut. Das Bett war komfortabel und das Zimmer modern eingerichtet. Die Übernachtung war aber auch nicht günstig.

Struttura molto bella e pulita, sia la stanza che il bagno pulitissimi (seppur il bagno fosse condiviso). Daniel è una persona gentilissima e disponibile, la zona è fuori Dublino, esattamente 6.5 km dal centro ma è servita da una moltitudine di Bus che portano in centro e le varie fermate sono a 2 passi dalla struttura di Daniel. Noi abbiamo provato anche a piedi, dalla struttura al centro (ecco perché so esattamente quanti km sono), per chi lo volesse fare è una camminata in totale sicurezza essendoci marciapiede e buona parte nel parco. Consiglio fortemente questa struttura e se torneremo a Dublino, sarà sicuramente da Daniel.

Uitstekend verblijf bij Daniël! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf. Alles was zeer netjes en verzorgd en Daniël is een geweldige gastheer – gastvrij, behulpzaam en altijd klaar om te helpen. Niets is teveel gevraagd! Bovendien is de locatie perfect: op slechts 15 minuten van Dublin met het openbaar vervoer. Ben je met de wagen, er is parkeerplaats voor de deur. Echt een aanrader, wij komen graag terug!

Tolles Zimmer - gute Lage für Ausflüge in die City

Daniel war sehr freundlich, hat uns willkommen geheißen, alles erklärt und Tipps zum Essen gehen und erkunden für uns gehabt. Vielen Dank hierfür noch einmal!! Das Zimmer ist mit allem eingerichtet, was man braucht- sogar Tee und Kaffee sowie ein paar kleine Snacks hatte er uns bereit gestellt. Auch die Nutzung des Gemeinschaftsbades war kein Problem - alles sauber und vorhanden. Wir würden jeder Zeit wieder buchen!
