"Trespessers" shouting with "staff" middle of the night then without confirming who he was the 'staff" member barged into our room (around 6 mixed dorm) and demanded our booking reference despite us staying in our coded locked room. All areas were a mess, bathroom and comman room had major damage and bed stank. Rather laid on my sweaty clothes then their sheets. Made complaint. No response since they said "we will investigate it" Also most expensive place out of my holiday (over 70£) despite being a dirt cheap hostel.

I enjoyed leaving the accommodation, the attitude of the owners though the messaging was incredibly unfriendly and rather threatening. I tried calling them when I first arrived, but no response and their voicemail box was full.

This was the worst accomodation i have ever set foot in. I would strongly reccomend removing this from your listings

the accomodation had foosty bedding, plaster around the the door handle/security pad in the room. Did not feel safe and the surrounding area appeared unsafe so much so that we went into the room and about turned and went and booked another hotel for my stay.

The room was supposed to be a twin room but we got a very small room with a bunkbed which was squeaky. The lift, the kitchen, the bathroom were all dirty. It was more like a dormitory or a jail cell. İt was so small that my daughter and I could not even stand at the same time.

Unsafe!

Unsafe location: electricity socket is is loose / not fixed. The wall socket / outlet can connect with middle of metal bunker bed, electrical shock during sleep is possible. Connecting electrical equipment gives a great flash. No evacuation plan found on 4th floor. In case of emergency this can be a disaster.

Just the bed was okay.

There's no curtains so everyone could watch inside our bedroom and during the morning the sun would wake me up. Everything was super dirty: from the bedroom (which was the least filthy), to the bathroom, the kitchen and the whole structure (the lift was even sticky and smelly). There was just one bathroom for the entire floor: one genderless toilet and shower (in the same room) for an entire floor is insane. Thus, whether you just have to wash your hands, or wee or have a shower you have to queue. This morning I really needed to use the toilet and I had to wait 30min because one of the guests was taking a shower and I had no other places where to go. The kitchen has no cutlery but 2 forks, 2 spoons and 2 knives and is overall appalling, with no place where to eat and a little filthy balcony where people went to smoke. There was no reception and to check in I had to send everything to a mysterious WhatsApp number. And at 10pm another mysterious person, who claimed to be part of the staff, even came to check on the reservation and on the room. The location doesn't feel safe at all hence never go there alone. Or better, never book there at all. Yes it was the cheapest room I could find in Dublin (which is an incredibly expensive city), thus I could expect something bad, but yet it doesn't mean it has to be that bad (for a 2 beds bedroom for 2 nights my bf and I paid 121€). I'm used to travelling and sleeping in shitty cheap hostels all around Europe but this one was one of the worst I've ever slept in.

Last minute host gave a completely different address than what was in the ad, to a place that looks like a crack den in comparison to what is shown in the pictures. it is absolutely filthy and not at all what was advertised. this shouldn't be legal. Health and safety checks should be done. It was not at all what we booked and what was promised. none of the codes given by the host worked, we had to ask other guests. And on top of everything, our room didn't even have a socket so we could charge our phone.. nothing. i know it's cheap but don't make the same mistake we did.

Worst accommodation we've ever been in

Where do I begin? The place was a mess. Brown stains on covers and pillows. Funky smell in the room. Wet Toilet and corridors. The kitchen was a nightmare - there was a pigeon nest in the corner. One night our entrance codes weren't working and no one picked up the phone to help us get in. Felt insecure in the accommodation as doors weren't working and people from other areas of the block had access to our flat.

House was in a non liveable condition, firstly we got moved from the accommodation we purchased to another accommodation for no apparent reason and the accommodation we got sent to was terrible, the door wasn’t lockable from inside or out so didn’t feel safe leaving our belongings inside. We also didn’t want to sleep there due to this issue. When we spoke to someone in charge they said this was liveable!! I then asked to be moved to another room which was in an okay condition however contact was then lost and didn’t get any more reply’s. We had to sleep at the airport in the end on the hard floor as there was no more accommodation anywhere.

The place is ok. The staff was very helpful with the self-check-in. There is a store 1 minute from the apartment.

We stayed in a mixed dormitory, and the person we shared with was quite rude. He came in at 3 AM and made a lot of noise. But you can't control these things as a host.

The customer service gave very poor check in instructions to us. I had a fever when I first arrived and they made me move from one location to another. The first room got used cotton buds on the floor and the second room was with rough and dirty bed sheets. I had rashes all over my body! The pillow was thin as a cupboard. Moreover, no WiFi in the room! I have no idea how they could charge that much of money. We had 3 terrible nights in Dublin.

Extremely disappointing

Security

Host was impossible to get a hold of. I tried texting, calling and emailing and received no reply for the entire stay. Bed sheets were unwashed and smelled so bad. Bed sheets also had hairs in them. There was a used toothbrush above cupboard. Loose screws everywhere, all from the bunkbeds. Dust galore (hay fever went crazy in there). Tried to contact host for fresh sheets to no avail. Accommodation also extremely difficult to find, again, with no help from host. Wouldn’t have to rate this place so bad if there was better communication but unfortunately we were ignored. We couldn’t even sleep in the beds properly. Had to use our own clothes as protection on the sheets and sleep on top of them whilst using our clothes as makeshift duvets. Didn’t do much for warmth as it was also freezing cold. Also had to use our bags as pillows because there was no way those pillows were sanitary. All for 90 euro. Hoping for a refund. Bathroom was clean though I guess

Never again, worst experience in over 30 years travelling around Ireland.

Very little to like. The main reason we chose this property was due to it's proximity to the Guinness Storehouse.

For a start, it was difficult to find - I was expecting a sign over the door saying 'Douglas's House' and someone to welcome us at least between 3 - 6pm. Most of the access codes didn't work so I had to send e-mails to find out what the updated codes were. As my phone roaming wasn't working, to do this I had to find a local shop with WiFi. At least the e-mails got answered within about 20 minutes but we were still waiting outside hoping that an e-mail would arrive. I never received the correct access code for one of the rooms booked, so my son & I only had a single bed to sleep on 'top-to-tail'. To make things worse, this room was actually double booked, so late at night we had another guest disturbing us 3 times and trying to get into our room - in the end he had to sleep in the kitchen. An absolute shambles and very disappointing - beware if you decide to book this accommodation. The only plus point was that it was reasonably clean.

Should be forgotten

I stayed only for one night and it summarizes in one Word: Nothing. There is no personal stuff. You have to use 4 Codes just to get zo your room. It's like a maze. The location is very bad. It took us myself and two other residents around 1 hour to find the hostel. Speaking of the room , small Pickled of trash are everywhere. The bathroom is very small , and not clean at all. There are almost no equipements in the kitchen. And the owners of the hostel didn't even bother to get some USB plugs , because you have to bring an adapter. Overall it's one night to forget.

Good for solo female travellers. Quiet and cozy.

Shower didn’t work on the first day but was working on the second day. Rooms had windows with good ventilation throughout the apartment. No cupboard space, only space to hang your clothes. One fridge is enough for all the groceries. There is no microwave and the oven is a hazard if you don’t turn it off at the walk switch (the whole place could and might burn down due to the oven needing to be fixed ASAP). The elevators and stairwell is extremely dirty and seems it hasn’t been cleaned in years. The pillows are extremely paper thin. The beds make a lot of noise and sometimes people smoke in the rooms. I did feel safe and secure there.

Everything. We were a couple, it was just a bunkbed for kids in a room smaller than regular storerooms. They had bed bugs. I left the first night, couldn't even stay there for second night. They have no staff on spot, no one to help around, they did not pick calls when we called. The location is messed up, had to roam for an hour to find it.
