We had an amazing 4 night stay at Katja's apartment. It was a warm and inviting space.

Location was gorgeous and right on the river. The fridge was nicely stocked with breakfast for the stay.

FANTASTIC Apartment, ON THE RIVER, stunning views and true artistry in the AirBnB type space

This is the VERY BEST possible place to spend some tranquil moments along the river. Truly, the hosts, the space, the location...everything was truly remarkable. I've already sent their info to at least 7 of my closest friends and family that travel often to Switzerland. We couldn't have been happier.

Perfect stay in Bern, will come back again

Katya was so warm and thoughtful... she left us a little surprise: a bottle of red wine from their own vineyard, flowers, and a fridge fully stocked with food. She is responsive to questions and requests. I love every single detail of this house. I even have serious plant envy... the healthiest monstera and exotic plants everywhere. All the paintings, decor, and beautiful Bern table books were created by her daughter, and the drinks are from their family business. This is the best stay we’ve had so far on this trip. This Bern stay has made my birthday trip more memorable. Thank you Katya, hope to come back to your place again someday.

The washing machine was not effective in spin drying clothes, but Katya provided clothes rack to air dry the wet clothes. It worked, so this is a small matter.

Stylish beautiful apartment with an amazing view

This apartment exceeded all my expectations: the host was welcoming, friendly, helpful with a lot of local recommendations; the apartment looks like in a magazine about interior design - stylish, bright, full of plants; the location is central and absolutely astonishing - on the river with a view that made us stay longer in the apartment in the mornings, just to sit and enjoy ☺️. This apartment alone would be a good reason alone to come back to Bern!

Perfect place to stay!!

Everything was perfect, wonderful view, well decorated flat with art and plants, good coffee, quality food. We stayed with may daughter and everything was perfectly thought for her as well.

Gorgeous Property With Amazing Views

This place is a must stay! The owner met us when we arrived and was wonderful. She gave us a tour of the property and provided great recommendations for things to do in Bern. The property had everything we needed and the owner provided a delicious continental breakfast. The property has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the river which was spectacular. We even saw a bear on the other side of the river. The location is in the city center/old town and walking distance to Christmas Markets, the Munster and clock tower. If I'm ever in Bern again, I will try to book this place.

Not a criticism but more a warning to those driving to Bern. The parking is in a private garage underground which has a very small entryway, low ceiling and tight parking spaces. Not recommended for anything larger than a compact SUV.

Beautifully decorated and very well furnished. Great breakfast selection! More than enough for two people. The hostess greeted us upon arrival. Provided a city pass for public transport before arrival and directions to get to apartment from the station. Excellent stay!

This was probably one of the most amazing stays I’ve ever been at. Katja did not miss one detail. It was absolutely perfect and we will most definitely be back. I’m so happy we stayed three days. My sisters and I loved it. I was amazed at every detail that she thought of. The food was amazing also! We appreciated everything! ❤️❤️❤️

Sonnen Loft is an exceptional property located in the heart of old town Bern on the river. We loved the loft’s wonderful unique architecture and decor.

Beautiful, spacious apartment with a great view

Katja is an excellent host and provided lots of helpful advice about things to do and where to eat in Bern. The space is very large, with more than enough room for a couple. The breakfast was ample and delicious. The shower was wonderful, with a rainfall showerhead and plenty of water pressure. There was a drain stoppage during our visit, but Katja came over and fixed it right away. The apartment is right on the river, with a nice view of the Bear Park and the hills above it, and we enjoyed looking out at the river as we ate breakfast. We would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Bern.

Drain stoppage (though Katja fixed it promptly), pillows were too soft.

This loft is absolutely amazing! The view was wonderful, the shower was incredible, the breakfast was perfect. We loved our stay and Katja was so nice and helpful. This was one of our most favorite places we have ever stayed. We can’t wait to come back!

One of the best properties I have stayed in. Definitely recommend. Fantastic character. Quiet and comfy. Plenty of space, and fridge was well stocked for us. Wish I had stayed longer.

The apartment and the host were really welcoming. The house was provided with everything one would need, it felt like to be at home. The position of the house, on a side of the river and in front of the bear park was amazing. The house was designed with attention and care to every single detail, wonderfully artistic! Parking lot difficult to negotiate. Very small ramp. Hit wing mirror. Had to pay 900 $ to Hertz. But not property holders fault. Suggestions for future residents to be extra careful in parking.

Wow - what a fabulous apartment! We were on a 2 week trip around Switzerland and this was by far and away our favourite accommodation of all those we stayed in. Beautiful interior, fabulous location and breakfast and Katja was a great host!

Fabulous apartment, brilliant location, helpful host...

This is an absolutely exceptional property. Our host could not have been more helpful. The fridge was well stocked, and the apartment was fantastic. We had been travelling around europe and this was by far the loveliest place we stayed! ....as for the location...it was brilliant, right on the river, and opposite the bear park (we saw a bear just out of hibernation). I absolutely unequivocally recommend this apartment.

Our hostess was terrific. The property is very unique and memorable right on the river with stunning views. Plenty of space to spread out. She provided a binder with all types of information and things to do along with a visitors book to Bern that her daughter published. Great area to go running along the river, and apparently in the summertime it is possible to swim the river where there are on and off ramps

Apple maps did not have the right location - it took us about 150 meters away from the front door

Best stay in Switzerland

Stay at Sonnen was exceptional, Katja was amazing, check in and check out was smooth due to ongoing communication and Katja was super quick to respond and accomodating to our requests. Katja met us in person when we checked in and gave us a tour of the place. Breakfast was vegetarian and there was a great selection. Accommodation itself was 10 stars, from the view to the set up (cute sleeping bags for the kids), and personalized guides to help you with your stay. Facilities was top notch with designer appliances (incl. Dyson hairdryer) and the place is super clean. Location is a bit out of the way however easily accessible via bus and the complimentary visitor Bern + pass is handy for commuting around. If you are travelling with luggage, go down the road from the other side of the bridge otherwise you'd be carrying luggage down 100+ steps. The biggest challenge would be pushing the luggages up and down the hill on cobblestone streets.

Shower drain was blocked during our stay but it's getting fixed. The plants tend to breed baby spiders so you might see quite a few around the place

Such a wonderful place at a very special location! - need to have a little time out? A lovely place for some time together? Or the perfect location to discover this great city? You won't be disappointed! Aaresuedhang does everything to let you feel at a special place with a breathtaking view in the middle of the city, directly at the river but nevertheless you feel comfortable, cosy and you won't miss anything. The vegetarian breakfast is delicious and if you need some vegan options they'll offer it to you! And of course you can try some of the great lemonades from Aaresuedhang, cook or have dinner at partner restaurants or go for a real yoga session in town! Definitely will come back!

Tutto.. é un posto magico. Siamo stati felicissimi di esserci potuti stare. L’host è stata gentilissima.. dalle indicazioni che ci ha dato, i consigli anche durante il soggiorno, alla colazione che ci ha fatto trovare. I biglietti per visitare Berna un plus. Prezzi abbordabilissimi fuori stagione. Il posto è esattamente come te lo aspetti anzi, più bello!! Grazie di tutto
