It would have been worth a trip to Bern just to stay at Sonnen Loft B&B! Located on the bank of the Aare River, it has large picture windows allowing great views of the river and the Bear Park across the way. The owner met us and introduced us to the house amenities. The owners are artists, and the apartment has unique decor and ambiance. The cold breakfast was delicious and more than ample.
It’s a bit out of the way, but has access to bus routes with free fare bus codes provided.

Beautiful views right on the river! We missed the bears when we were visiting but great view of the bears if they had been out. Breakfast was so fresh and tasty! Great for traveling with kids!

We had the best time staying at this stunning apartment in Bern. It’s huge - plenty of space for our family of four in a peaceful part of the city and quiet building along the river. The view is awesome, overlooking the Aare River and the bear park. We saw one of the bears that had just come out of hibernation from the apartment. The apartment is even more beautiful than the photos; there is a side terrace with seating and a narrow balcony along the river. The owner supplied breakfast and gave helpful recommendations for our stay; we had all of the toiletries, blankets, and kitchen cutlery and glassware that we needed. We loved using the fireplace in the evenings. This is one of the best apartments that we’ve stayed at in Europe. We would absolutely stay here again!

Everything was amazing. on the river. across from the Bern bears. great space. If you love interior design you will especially love this place. private deck. huge windows. Superior orientation and communication.
could use a place to put toiletries when you're using the bathroom, and a little more hanging space for clothes. otherwise complete wow
