Chalet Seehus Iseltwald

The location is hard to beat, spacious, fairly well equipped. Access to washing machine and tumble dryer. The staff are helpful.

Only commenting on 1st floor apartment, It’s just a bit tired and past its best. Expected a little more for the cost. It’s 99% about the location. Noise from above is very noticeable. Kitchen is very small, no dishwasher. Beds weren’t great.

My daughter and I stayed in Chalet Seehus for four days. Check in was very easy and the host was very welcoming and kind. We were in the top apartment and just loved the place. It was a perfect for our mid vacation stay. Even though there is no air con (which is common in Switzerland,) we opened the windows and got a wonderful cross breeze off the lake and there were fans for every room. It was very comfortable for sleeping at night and it provided more space than any of our hotel rooms. The toilet and shower a separate which is convenient and the shower had really nice water pressure. We also appreciated the opportunity to do laundry mid trip which was located in the basement and kept very tidy. The kitchen has all the basics and we did a little cooking in too. (Please note that there is no dishwasher.) LOVED THE LOCATION It's located in an adorable village with really easy bus or ferry access into Interlaken. Plus, they offered us a free local bus pass which saved us $! (We'd bus 20 minutes to Interlaken- then you can train nearly anywhere.) There is a small grocery store right nearby where we bought laundry detergent and some basic cooking supplies. There is a great restaurant near the local hostel right on the water. (Beware many restaurants close either on Tuesday on Wednesday and we missed dining out on our last night.) There is ez paddle board/kayak rental within walking distance and a swim spot right across the street! The lake is a beautiful glacial blue and was so clean and refreshingly cool - it was just perfect for beating in the heatwave hitting Europe right now. There is also a beautiful hike with the trailhead right from the village. It is nice and shady walk that goes along the lake toward Brienz. From the hike, we took the train up to the historic hotel and waterfall. The food was pricey but yummy, the views stunning and this spot is very popular with tourists.

TOP APARTMENT The Seehus space was perfect for the 2 of us. It would be tight with 5 people and 5 suitcases. The finishes are pretty basic but were fine for us. If you have a problem with stairs- there are several flights up to the top apartment and you have to haul your luggage up and down too. (Plus there are more stairs down to the laundry in the basement.) The tourists tend to arrive with the first ferry around 9 am and they use the swim spot right out front. (We would have preferred to have this village and swim spot all to ourselves. For privacy- swim in the early morning or late evening. However, it is tourist HIGH season and the money these visitors bring, helps the locals thrive so it didn't bother us that much.

Very clean and of course it’s location, location. Wonderful staff and Irene was very courteous and explained everything that made the stay enjoyable. The town people are friendly and cozy surrounding.
