Hotels 24-7 - The Old Knoll Guesthouse

The distance to the train station. The comfy beds. The lack of noisy neigbours.

The room was a bit run down. Might need a lick of paint.

Booked this guest house at last minute entrance code hadn't arrived so rang number on door . Pleasant lady answered straight away and it was sorted. Room was on second floor up a lovely old staircase with some stained glass . Unusual old building . Got to room it was L shaped and quite spacious and clean. There was a TV on the wall which you could adjust to watch. The single bed was comfortable and the room felt cosy. The bathroom was small but the shower worked fine and was lovely and hot and clean. Plenty of towels , tea and coffee.All in all I had a good night's sleep. The location isn't bad close to hospital ,town and a lovely park.

Guest house was a little basic and the decor wasn't a high standard it must be hard to upkeep such a large old building. Bit of a crack in the sloping ceiling. The bedside light needed a bulb and the light pull in the bathroom could do with a new string and the drawers could do with some new handles. Very minor gripes because this place was extremely good value and fine for a night or two.

Finding the hotel location. I went to 126 Stow Hill and was told the hotel was half a mile away on the same road near a bus stop which I could then find!

On a main road Shower not perfect but was hot Automatic check in didn't work well at all It only worked after I had spoken to a person
