The location is perfect.. a short walk to Burford Main Street and close to other places of interest in the area. The decor was lovely, especially at Christmas time. The whole place has a welcoming vibe and is very cosy. The room we had was a good size, with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The shower was perfect. We had breakfast both mornings there and found the food delicious, well presented and with enough variety on the menu. Service was excellent - welcoming and friendly.
We loved everything about this property.

In a prime position for tours, family, shopping and dining out.
We loved our room which was tastefully decorated and very well maintained. The only downside was the shower strength and its position which was over a bath. There was a handrail to assist you to step into the shower but for some people this may not have worked.
Other rooms do appear to have walk in showers.
Our cooked breakfasts were excellent as was the coffee however we would have appreciated fresh fruit option versus juice.

Burford Lodge, Is very warm and welcoming. The rooms are lovely. The breakfast had a good choice and was served hot .The lodge was positioned just outside the main high street but was only a 8 minute walk away to the main high street

Great location
Lovely and clean
The bar only had limited opening hours! We came home in the afternoon after a long day out and just fancied a nice cold drink but the bar was closed! It didn’t open at night either so no night caps! Apart from that we had a lovely stay in a nice clean well located place

It was a small hotel and the staff were helpful. It had double glazing to
Reduce noise from the main road.
The building was lovely and it was near the town centre.
The lighting in the room was quite dim even though there were lamps and spotlights. It was difficult to control the shower temperature.

We lived everything about our stay. The warm welcome from Andrea, drinks in the fabulous bar lounge, our room and the great breakfast!

Great location within walking distance to the pubs and shops. Room was a good size with everything that we needed. Our room was at the front of the hotel which is on a main road, traffic noise with window open but not an issue when closed or overnight. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Good sized car park so no need to worry about parking. Was a good central location for attractions near by. Enjoyed our stay.

Great location. Lovely building nicely furnished. We arrived early and were very kindly allowed to check in early as our room wasn't used the night before. Breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again!
A comfier mattress would have taken our stay from an 8/10 to a 10/10.

Comparable to other b&bs , of similar price , the room was tight for space. The bathroom was a little grubby in places ( extractor fan clogged up with dirt … the devil is in the detail ) also bath was very difficult to get in and out.

Location was good lovely building staff were very welcoming friendly and helpful
The rooms were a bit tired. Description of the rooms were not very good my deluxe king was a very small room .
We had a meal in the hotel because menu advertised at the front of the hotel looked lovely. When we were given menu in the restaurant was nothing what was advertised and we all had 4 different meals and not one was nice. The hotel has great potential just needs some money spent on it. The carpets had stains on it. The bar closes early. You could hear traffic all night in your room. It was good that it was really hot because you could have the window open.

The lodge is lovely we stayed in bedroom 8 it was a lovely room beautifully decorated and the breakfast was great too the staff are very friendly and there to help if needed
If you sleep with the window open the main road is noisy and could kept you awake and the other other thing I have to comment on it’s the bath in room 8 could do with being replaced and a walk in shower putting in as it’s high to get in and if your not agile you could easily slip as it has a build in seat in the bath

The location of Burford Lodge is ideal because it is located on the A40, very near to the golf club, garden centre and Burford village centre, it is easy to locate from the main road. The access to the car park is good and the carpark itself is well maintained with gravel and is large, you can turn the car around easily. The lodge has character with being an established premises, externally and internally it is very well presented. The communal areas and the room I stayed in are clean, tidy and well served with bottled water, tea and coffee making facilities. Again, the ensuite was very well presented and clean.
When I engaged with the staff they were very pleasant and helpful. On the second floor there is a communal veranda overlooking the golf club. The menu for the breakfast gave plenty of choice for individuals and the food was tasty.
Not that I did not like this particularly, but half of the bill had already been paid and on arrival I had to pay the remainder. Everywhere else I have stayed the remainder or whole of the bill is paid at the end of the stay. When I came to hand the key in on leaving there was no-one there on the reception desk so maybe taking payment upfront on that occasion was planned in advance.
Again not a deal breaker but the door to the room was lopsided because it was held on with one hinge, the other was loose. The staff were already aware of this but it had not been fixed in advance of the stay.

Staff were lovely, Breakfast very good. Location good
Room tired and dated and not everything worked (tap hanging off, curtain tie back fell off, windows didn’t open, lights in bathroom not working). Road noise loud in room

Noisy , on a main road

Visually from the outside it looked absolutely perfect. Inside the bar and dining area was lovely, very homely. The King Deluxe room we had was a little tired. No wardrobe space or chest of drawers for storage. There were 4 hooks with hangers on and this was ok but the rest of clothes were out of the case, ironed when required.
Nothing really to dislike, could do with a spruce up decor wise in certain rooms.

Location, friendly staff, free car parking, good breakfast
Room was a bit hot and because we were at the front couldn’t open the window due to road noise (even at night)

The cooked breakfast was tasty.
On arrival, on a Monday, we were told that the restaurant would open on Thursday. The information sheet in our room says "Our bar is open every day late afternoon until late in the evening. The bar may close early if quiet." We were told at 5.50pm that the bar would be shut at 8pm. So despite being a hotel, we only really had a B&B experience. We had booked a Deluxe King room and a Deluxe double. In the double room the bins had not been emptied, and had no liners. Our King room was very small. All the tea/coffee/kettle etc was on a dressing table. There was no other table to open a laptop or play games on. We only had one chair. The hairdryer was a tiny travel one that stopped when it overheated. There was nothing that made the room "deluxe".
The cooked breakfast was served on cold plates.

I liked the charm and ambiance of the property. The bedrooms had an old-fashioned country charm that appealed to me. I also like the dining and bar area. Again very country style which I find very inviting and appealing.
Breakfast was excellent and the staff were all nice.
The mattress in our bedroom was a little too spring like. Could’ve used a mattress filler. The water in the shower was quite weak and as I was finishing my shower the water just died down. I found the bath tub too high to get into but it’s just because I’m not used to that kind of bath.
And because our bedroom was facing the road we got a lot of traffic noise. Nevertheless, we were still able to have a good night’s sleep.
My husband and his mate wanted to go to the hotel bar after we came back from a day out but unfortunately, the bar was already closed. It would have been great if the bar could remain open until 10 pm like most bars.

Very friendly family run boutique hotel. Comfortable bed and pillows. A full breakfast included. Generous car park. A pleasant 10 minute walk into Burford village centre.
Very steep flight of stairs up to our room. A green ceiling light that glowed at night (has to stay on for emergency evacuation purposes)
Recommend an eye mask.

We had a lovely 3-night stay and couldn’t be happier with the experience. We stayed in the King Room with a garden view, which was exactly what we were hoping for—spacious, beautifully presented, and very comfortable. The little open area just outside was perfect for enjoying a morning cup of tea.
The bed was absolutely massive and incredibly comfy. Breakfast was delicious every single day, with a good variety and everything cooked to perfection.
What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were beyond accommodating—so friendly, approachable, and helpful.
We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time and would not hesitate to highly recommend this place to others. Would definitely stay again!

People, breakfast, cleanliness, parking, comfortable and well presented.
Random blanked spot lights, creaky floors, random tiny bath, would be better just a shower, water pressure not great, bit hit and miss.

A small boutique hotel with some nice funitures and a very good private parking lot. The rooms was litle bit old fashioned and not in line with the restaurant area. The breakfast was OK, but only the typical English "choose from the list" type. I perfer a good buffet.
The hotel was located 10-15 walk from the city center. I was not aware of this, but also located right to a road wuith heavy trafic. Not a huge problem, but the room didn´t have air conditions, only a fan, which added some noice on top of the trafic during night.
