Not full use of facilities, marijuana smell

There were people already in the Airbnb when we arrived so had to wait for the host to change beds etc, felt very stressful for a one night stay. The people that had used the lock box before us were smoking marijuana inside

Basic contractors apartment

The apartment was fine, and the location was good, just a short walk into the centre, but it could do with a bit of a decorate and clean. The window in the living area wouldn't close, but after informing the owner, it was fixed a couple of days later. The couch was very stained, so we didn't use it, but the landlord noticed this when fixing the window, so put a cover over it. Good location for supermarket, as it's right opposite.

Parking was available but its on a lane with other cars so means you could be blocked in at times, which is a bit of a worry, and is not guaranteed as others park there too, so first come first served really. But I did manage to park, and after a phone call, the neighbour let me out. (Numbers are in the apartment, so you know who to call) The next-door apartment constantly had people going in and out (mostly men) at all hours of the night, so it was rather noisy, so I'm not sure what's going on there? As we are an expansion team for a large company, we stay in many apartments/ hotels, and this one did fall a bit short of what we've stayed in before, but if you are working nearby and want a basic place to sleep at a decent price, then this place is for you.

Disappointing stay

We had an unpleasant and disappointing stay at the apartment. The check in instructions provided weren’t clear. It was difficult to find the apartment which was above some shops. The parking situation wasn’t explained beforehand. The parking space was in the alley way, that was already blocked by vans and other vehicles. We struggled to park our car and ended up being blocked by a local business owner in the morning, this caused a delay in being able to leave when we checked out. The entrance to the flat was unsightly, with rubbish and an unpleasant smell in the alley way. A food trolley was blocking the stairway to the apartment. As soon as you enter the flat there was a mouldy smell in the hallway. The shower was unclean and mouldy. The kettle had limescale and cutlery was dirty. The lounge sofa didn’t look like the one illustrated in the pictures. The sofas were hard and uncomfortable to sit on. The beds were lumpy and we struggled to get a good night sleep. It was noisy in the morning too due to construction work nearby. It’s a shame that we didn’t enjoy our stay in Reading.
