The Courtyard Rooms

The property is very secure. Easy access instructions given by owner. The room is perfect, extremely clean and comfortable. Lovely touches with decor, kettle in room with tea and coffee available. Shower good temperature, toiletries available and fluffy towels supplied. Lovely communal space with a kitchen and lounge. The area is quiet. Within reach of all amenities. Contact with owner was simple and easy. Always replied quickly. Would definitely recommend. Great price.

The only thing I would say is that the room was very hot (bearing in mind it was an extremely hot day). The fan that was provided didn’t really help. So maybe a better fan would be a solution.

The room was ideal for our quick overnight stay, it was very clean and tidy with a very spacious en-suite. Tea and coffee were provided and we made use of the fan. Beds were very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with very comfortable pillows. Having the use of private secure parking was very reassuring and overall I would not hesitate to use the Courtyard Rooms again, Highly recommended.

Only minor issue was because of the close proximity to the yard for parking. Other residents returned in a vehicle at 11pm and there was a period of noise and slamming of doors, but to be honest it could have been the other way round, but a polite notice to other customers to please be reasonably quite would not go amiss (unless I missed it) as it did feel like the returning customers didnt really appreciate others were sleeping close by, but we soon fell back to sleep.

The modern, airy decoration creates a pleasant, calm atmosphere. I stayed during a heatwave and although there is no A/C the combination of fan and window shutters were enough to keep the room at a more than reasonable temperature. In the evening it was nice to sit on the bench outside. In the hot weather the mini fridge was essential for keep snacks and drinks cool. The bathroom is spacious and well arranged with plenty of good lighting. The location is excellent, in the middle of town but with parking if you arrive by car.

A small chair would have been nice so I didn't have to sit on the bed when eating snacks.

The room was functional but very small. It did have decent quality bedding. Bathroom towels OK. Old TV needs replacing, not enough sockets near TV, difficult to have the little fridge and kettle plugged in at the same time. Fridge was off on arrival.

No hot water from bathroom sink. Electric shower was poor. Heater in bedroom did not seem to work and bathroom had an old fashioned infrared heater. Bathroom fan switched off, noisy when switched on. Hard to dry, wet clothing, with this type of heater. Bathroom had not been cleaned for a while as scum mark under soap dispenser on bathroom sink. Water left in kettle on arrival. No breakfast, but good cafe across the road. Not worth asking price of £120.00 per night. Parking for two / three small guest cars, otherwise have to park on nearby street.
