Great guest house!

We had a lovely stay. Was a lovely homely guest house absolutely spotless! Fantastic hosts, really welcoming, friendly, went above and beyond. Breakfast was freshly cooked and the best I've had in a long time. Bedding was so lovely and bed was really comfortable.

Excellent location, minutes from busy seafront but our rooms at back was very quiet. Room and bathroom was spotlessly clean. Freshly cooked breakfast with quality ingredients. Very friendly. Very good value

My wife and I were very happy with our stay at Sandrock. The staff were friendly, and very efficient The room was clean and the breakfast was good.

The only down side was the smell of paint in our room, although it did not interfere with our stay

Great place to stay

The room and whole property was Immaculate, bed was very comfy and the bed sheets smelled clean and fresh. Food was freshly cooked and very tasty, and they were happy to adjust the menu to suit individual tastes. The dining room was very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

There was nothing to dislike about our stay at the property, we would definitely stay again.

The family that run and owned the Sand Rock Hotel where very helpfull and catered for all my needs and the breakfast were very nice and they didnt skimp on the food if you needed more they would of given it but I found I did'nt need any more for what you got was plentyfull. They went out of there way to make your stay very enjoyable. The rooms were tidy and clean. you allso hade a TV and Wifi, which helped because I'd log into my TV such as Disney and Netflix and watch my programs. They also helped when it came to me parking my car. All in all it was a very pleasant stay. Thank you to the family

A very comfortable and welcoming hotel, in a great location for the beach, pier and town centre.

Very comfortable beds and rooms, which were nicely decorated and modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made you feel at home, especially at breakfast, which was excellent. Great power shower, which most B&Bs and hotels don't have. The owner created a parking space for us, which was very kind. Great location for the beach, pier and town centre.

Not much not to like. The short stairs to room 8 needed a handrail for my elderly mother-in-law. There was a broken door lock and a hole at the bottom of the bathroom door in our room (room 4), which wasn't a great look, but a minor thing. The TV was a bit small.

Best stay in Clacton

Fantastic breakfast, friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms. I've stayed at multiple places in Clacton and this is easily the best place to stay.

Duvet could have been a tad longer, didn't cover me and it was full winter. Luckily there is an air heater but it's not something you want to have running all night (I only ran it a few minutes before hopping into bed).

Denise and her family are the best. Everything was fantastic. We travel every year from the USA and never consider staying anywhere else in Clacton as you cannot fault the Sandrock guesthouse . The breakfast is consistently cooked perfectly and the back bacon is the best ! The room was warm with a kettle, tea,coffee and water supplied.Plenty of hot water. The room was exceptionally clean with plenty of space for hanging clothes. The location is perfect and is on a side road off the seafront across the road from the beach. It is a perfectly quiet location but in the centre of the town and easy walking distance to Clacton pier and shops.

Parking can be difficult but we were there Saturday to Monday and had no plans to use the car. We are able to leave our car outside The Sandrock until we left Monday morning.

The room was very comfortable and very clean. Nice view from the window. Quite and peaceful and had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was very good quality and brilliant poached eggs. The owner and staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Short walk to pier and town. Only wish we could of stayed longer. Would definitely go again.

A fantasic, homely traditional B&B close to the beach & town

The Sandrock was amazing and has restored our faith in staying in a traditional seaside B&B. Denise and Terri were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The Sandrock was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast tasty and cooked to order. Great value for money. Don't be put off about the parking restrictions, we never had an issue in finding a space during our stay. We will be back.

Beautiful gem of a hotel. We will be returning!

Absolutely beautiful, spacious, clean and wonderfully smelling rooms. I loved that there were seats and a little table right next to the window that overlooks the sea just by the main road. The host was extremely accommodating, friendly and very kind to us. And the breakfast? INCREDIBLE!

Great location - short walk to the station, pier and shops. Comfortable rooms and lovely hosts. They made sure our dietary requirements were accommodated at breakfast and let us leave our luggage at the bnb after it check out whilst we waited for our train.

Enjyable

The Sandrock B&B was very comfortable and good value for money. Denise who runs could not do enough for you. The rooms were comfortable whilst not luxurious. The breakfast was freshly cooked with good quality ingredients and very enjoyable. Great B&B for a very reasonable price.

Convenient, comfortable and clean - but plan to park elsewhere

Central location so easy to pop in and out. The room was clean and comfortable, with a fan supplied to cope with warm weather. It’s a beautiful old house that’s been well looked after and makes for a nice retreat from the busy area around it. Breakfast was well cooked and very filling, served in a lovely sunny room.

Website says there is a free car park to the rear but it is just a few spaces for staff really, and parking on the street is challenging in the summer months. Signage or wording on the website could be improved to make this clear, as the car park was fenced off and we assumed this was private when driving in. The owner did offer to get us in the corner and block us in until we left, but we were able to park elsewhere.
