The Japanese Ryokan breakfast was extraordinary!!! And the outdoor onsen was just perfect at night, I was soaking in onsen under the stars! The staff are all polite, friendly and helpful. The sea view from our room was amazing!!!
It’d be even more wonderful if the restaurant could allow walk-in guest for dinner, but it’s not a complaint really because I know how seriously Japanese take meal preparation.

We chose this hotel because it was near the Kii-Katsura station, so we could easily head back to Osaka to catch our flight--it's only an 8-10 minute walk from the station. The hotel is like a blend of traditional and modern hotel chains, with activities suited to different groups, particularly families (who would enjoy the game room), and a free noodle bar. The indoor onsen was not as nice as others I've been to, but the outdoor onsen was magnificent!
Unlike other Japanese-style accommodations we stayed in on this trip, we had to set up our own futons. Although our room supposedly had an ocean view, our view was really a parking lot! Book your dinner reservation early, or you may have to eat a lot later, and service isn't particularly fast.

Loved the location and how close it was to the Nachi waterfall! The staff were lovely and late night ramen and games room were a hit! Loved the private onsen room and the public onsen outside has a gorgeous view! They have some tattoo covers for us to go to the public onsen (however for beige skin tones and not quite big enough for some of our body art).
It is a charming, but slightly dated hotel probably more targeted toward local guests. We were fine with communication in English when it was needed, but just good for western guests to know! We had some of our party that was less adventurous in that way than others, but by the end of the stay, all were happy.

Restaurant was amazing, great food. The room was clean.
The hotel is becoming quite dated and some of the common areas were a bit dirty and needed refreshing. My room had a view over the car park where noisy repairs were being done. I felt the hotel was overpriced for this reason.
