Kawayu Onsen Fujiya

It was a charming onsen hotel right opposite the river and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Beautiful onsen baths too.

There was no coffee in the room and only available at the tea house where you had to pay. All previous hotels in Japan have offered complementary coffee.

Private onsen is very serene.

Felt a bit dated.

Perfect Location: The location is absolutely excellent, situated right in front of the beautiful river. It was so peaceful. Authentic Rooms: The rooms are traditional Japanese style—very cozy, clean, and pleasant to stay in. Incredible Food: The food was outstanding! You can really tell that a lot of thought, care, and effort went into preparing every single meal.

We had some trouble communicating my dietary needs as a vegan. Initially, the staff refused to serve me vegan food. However, after a long conversation and explaining what I can eat, they were accommodating. The next day, I received a perfectly suitable and highly delicious meal. It would be great if the hotel could be a bit more prepared and flexible for vegan guests from the start.

Food was plentiful, would have been nice to have a coffee in the morning, but when we requested, they said not available. Hotel was clean, and very well located, but very old, needs upgrading.

Bathrooms needs upgrading, and to have coffee available in the morning
