Location fantastic. Easy access to metro and shopping. Decor and cleanliness were top notch in the apartment. Kitchen was well done for our needs and the addition of a washing machine and dishwasher was great. Nicely decorated. Well priced for central Paris.

A little maintenance would give more stars. The main shower head was broken so only showers from the hand held option. The smell from the drains when toilet flushed was unpleasant but this is due to the system and not a fault of the install. I recommend washing your hands in the main bathroom over the toilet space and the other suction kicks in. Or run the shower and the water disappears again. Bed was comfy but small and the pillows were not great but we used the additional cushions from the lounge and found this to be useful. I did feel pressured to pay the additional fee for insurance which I felt a little unfair considering we kept the space as we found it.

Regrettable

There was a hotel around the corner so we could check in because we had NO water

No Communication! We had no water and were not told or communicated with about this. We had to pay for another hotel (Hotel Bachaumont) Tuesday 18th so we had access to water / shower.

Perfect little apartment for a city break!

Perfect location and felt safe the whole time! Lovely modern property! They really put a lot of thought into the space to maximise use and make it homely! Lovely new TV with Netflix etc and lovely hot shower!

Worst recent accommodation experience in Europe!

We were extremely disappointed. It’s totally not as same as the photo shows . 1. It doesn’t look clean, stains everywhere on soda and dinning chairs. 2.one of the window is broken, the glasses are still attached on. 3.there are no proper amenities such as hand soap, shampoo, shower gel and tissue. There is no tissues or Kutchan towels available! They only provide a tiny “ welcome amenity box” for first night stay nevertheless we booked for 5 nights stay. Although they brought more after a rather firry call with the “host”, as an “exception”! 4. The bedroom window has almost no acoustic insulation and The street is very noise! 5.In the shower room, there is no rack to hold the shampoo bottle, we have to hold it while showering. 6.air conditioner in the living room drips water and stops cooling after a while

If you are considering this property, I hope to help others reconsider and avoid making the same mistake I did

The property was in a decent location within a good neighbourhood with cafes, bakeries etc nearby.

The property was not at all what was advertised. Although it was relatively clean (could definitely still be greatly improved), it was rundown and very basic. The building which the apartment was in was very down trodden and felt insecure and unsafe. Also, there was no air conditioning in the apartment, despite this being listed in the available amenities (please note that none of the apartments have air conditioning except perhaps one - so when they speak of repairing it or it undergoing maintenance issues, this is not the case from what we could see). There was a small fan provided which was broken and when we contacted the property manager regarding this, only excuses were made and no action taken to ensure the apartment was suitable for guests (we also had some other issues such as no toilet paper provided and difficulties with the keypad entry which were also ignored). Unfortunately for us, it was very hot and unbearable during our stay - that, and also the lack of help from the property managers and also general feeling of unease from the security of the building, made us have to make the difficult decision to leave the accomodation and seek an alternative after one horrible night there. To be fair, the only positive is that the accomodation is within a decent neighbourhood (but the building itself is very old and rundown). For the price that this accomodation costs, I really feel you could find something else much more suitable and comfortable. I honestly felt scammed and catfished by this property.

Nicely decorated and large apartment but the price is high for the standard

The apartment is larger than usual, it has 3 rooms plus the living room. It has an elevator and it is nicely decorated (the washing machine is quite good). We were 5 and when asked for a chair (only four chairs were properly working) Charles brought more and removed the 4 chairs which were broken. He also changed the nespresso machine which was not working.

It needs a proper cleaning, there was hair from previous guests in the bed and in one of the showers. Carpet in one of the rooms was dirty. There was trash at the entry of the building which was not cleaned for two days. Some kitchen utensiles were dirty. There was a black powder on the floor. The light at the entrance does not have a switch and we were not told. Furniture seems worn out and dirty. There was a lot of noise late at night and early in the morning (other guests).

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY

The property was nothing like its representation. It was dark and dingy up a tight set of stairs, The booking confirmation stated that there was a washing machine and tumble dryer in the apartment, but that was totally false. We immediately quitted the apartment and found accommodation elsewhere. Despite having notified the owner that we had not stayed there, I received an ongoing message requesting that we observe the agreed check out time!!! TOTALLY HOPELESS!!!!

Not worth the money. Stay somewhere else.

Location was good. That was about the only thing we liked about the property.

It was pretty run down and dirty in places in the unit we had. Interior room has no windows so it got hot at night. We had issues with the air conditioning in the entire apartment. No paper towels in kitchen. Entire unit is small compared to the photos on the site. No instructions on how to use it washer/dryer. For over $700 per night it was not a good deal. There are better places in Paris to stay for that money.

Don’t recommend this property.

We were not provided with the real key to the property. We were told to use the code. We did not feel safe without a key.

First of all, the apartment was completely different from the one I thought I booked. It was smaller and have different furniture compared to photos. We were too busy to complain and decided to stay. Many things are broken including the shower and the tab in the toilet room. There is a constant smell coming from the bathroom. The rooms were not clean, lots of dust on floors, etc. The windows are not properly closing, basically have broken locks. the windows face the inner yard full of garbage boxes and noise from time to time. Also the metro trains underneath the building would wake you up. Basically, we expected a much nicer apartment but got what we got. A place to sleep, yes; enjoy it, no.

Terrible, poor value, broken AC, maintenance issues

Nothing. The pictures on the listing are from multiple apartments. We eventually found photos of the apt we were staying in towards the end of the 60+ photos. It was way, way smaller than the lead photos. Yes, they are stylishly decorated, but it’s all style no substance. For a 2 bedroom apt that sleeps 4-6 people we had a 2 seater sofa, 1 small ottoman and a plastic chair. The best that can be said is that it is convenient to lots of restaurants and supermarkets.

The apartment had 3 air conditioning units connected to a central system. It was 94 degrees the day we arrived and none of them worked. The staff knew we were traveling with a 5 month old baby and they knew the AC wasn’t working but they didn’t give us any notice or make any effort to mitigate the situation. We notified them of the issue as soon as we arrived and they pretended that they were unaware, telling us to switch units on and off, altering temperature settings etc, although in later conversations it was clear that they had known all along that the units didn’t work and there was nothing we could do to get them to work. There was a single standing fan in the apartment to cover all 3 rooms. Eventually we were told it was purchased by the previous guests, and the company told us to go out and buy a second fan for “up to 40 Euros” which they said they would reimburse us for. We didn’t think it was reasonable to send us out in a neighborhood we don’t know with a small baby on shopping errands. Later a small desktop fan was delivered to the apt by the company. Even so it averaged 84-90 degrees in the apt, even on the 3rd night when the temperature had dropped a little it was impossible to sleep, particularly in the 2nd bedroom which was windowless and like an oven. (Oddly, there is glass opening between the first and second bedrooms - which gives neither bedroom much privacy, and allows no airflow in the second bedroom) In addition, the refrigerator was not working properly, when we arrived it was iced up and at an unsafe temperature inside. The company told us to de-ice it by unplugging it and letting it melt and drain it. It’s a fitted unit in a cabinet so not obvious how to do this without causing a flood and honestly not really our job as a renter to perform maintenance on appliances. In addition one of the panes of the window in the lounge was broken and had been repaired by screwing a piece of wood over it.

Great location & lovely spacious apartment but could do with some TLC and a fan

The location was excellent, great area around for restaurants and shops. The apartment and furniture feel quite tired though. It was very clean though and had everything we needed for a family of 4.

It is extremely hot and there’s no fan or air con.. it was 30 degrees while we visited and it was actually unbearable even at night. I don’t know how someone would be able to manage in peak summer

Incredibly Disappointing

Although we booked Suite Verlaine we were given Suite Victor Hugo. Despite the lovely photos on booking.com, this is a bare bones airbnb. It is managed by a large company who is completely unresponsive to any issues that may arise. When we arrived there was no handsoap in either bathroom, there was half a roll of toilet paper. There was no dish soap to wash a cup. I understand bringing your own shampoo and conditioner, but toilet paper? It felt very cheap, which is unfortuate because we paid 3,000 euros for 3 nights. There is no staff on site, and the property management company was very difficult to get a hold of. I ended up spending hours at the beginning of my vacation trying to sort out help - none of which I never received. Also warning, the front door to the flat is complicated. It is an industrial door with a complex lock. We had four adults and four children, and 3 of the adults could not open the door from the inside without a key. There as one key for the entire apartment. So when a few of the group wanted to out with the key, it was stressful to think about how we would exit the flat in the event of a fire. Ultimately, one of the adults in our party, figured out a sliding mechanism on the lock that enables you to open the door without a key. We had to take time to educate everyone how to exit the apartment in the event of an emergency since it was not common sense on how to operate the door.

We booked this flat for two primary reasons: the listing description said the apartment had air conditioning (A/C or air con) and luggage storage. Neither of these turned out to be true. When we arrived to the flat it was a very hot day. There are A/C units in the apartment, but none of them were working. We have a child that is sensitive to overheating, hence this was one of the important features that I was looking for while making a booking. I immediately reached out to the number listed as the property manager and had a very hard time getting a hold of anyone. I went through booking.com help and they said that they could not get a hold of them. After spending way too much of my time at the beginning of my vacation, I finally started getting message responses sporadically and was questioned if I knew how to use the A/C remote correctly. Towards the end of my stay, they finally acknowledged that others in the building had complained about the A/C not working and that it was a wider issue. Another issue was that there was no luggage storage. This was important to us, as we had a late train on our last day and would need to store our luggage. Before booking the flat, I asked if luggage storage was available to which I was told yes, and it is also listed as an amenity on the listing description. This is not true. There is nowhere we could store bags. When I reached out for help, they told me to use a company like stasher, where we would pay a nearby shop to store our luggage. This is not what we wanted, paid for or expected. When talking with another guest, they were unhappy with the luggage storage for their suite because it was completely unsecure and strangers could access it.

The location was good and we were able to check in a little earlier. Check in and out was easy.

There is significant damage around the property. The photos are very misleading. The apartment was very small for 5 adults. Some of the doors didn’t open properly. There is holes in the wall. The aircon doesn’t properly work, it doesn’t blow cold air. There is only two mirrors in the property. Bed rooms are tiny. Windows don’t close properly. No extra toilet roll, there was very little provided. Beds are small.

This is only for people who don‘t care very much about charme or anything like that. I asked for more toilet paper because we stayed 6 nights, but i didn‘t get an answer. But for sure the company reminded me to checkout the latest at 11am and if i leave earlier i should please let them know. For that they could communicate. The Appartement smells a bit out if the bathroom. So all in all it was not worth the price , only ok. As you see on the fotos, they don‘t really care…half the price would have been reasonable.

What I didn’t like:

The apartment had no natural light, which wasn’t clear from the photos — they gave the impression that it was brighter. Also, it’s not mentioned that on Fridays, groups of teenagers gather there and throw loud parties that last until morning. It made it very difficult to relax or sleep.

Disappointing stay

Good location was about the only positive.

Charged extra for early check in with a baby to which we agreed as there didnt seem to be any other option to leave luggage. When we arrived the apartment was not what was advertised in the photos on the booking (warning). No lift and steep stairs which is not mentioned in the information.The apartment was also dirty and dusty - there was bad smell outside the toilet and stained flooring. The cot which we had been promised for early check in was not there. It arrived an hour later broken and there was no mattress. Due to all the above we complained and we were told we would be moved to the other apartment which was alot nicer. Funnily enough this was the apartment in the photos for the one we had booked. Wasted almost the whole afternoon as we had to wait until later to enter. A new cot was in the apartment which was appreciated but it hadn't even been opened so we had to set up and there was also no cot mattress so I had to improvise with the spare duvet in the room. After that things were OK and the new apartment worked fine. There was even a lift to the new apartment but because of everything that happened we wasted a day of our holiday and to be honest we had limited time which was very disappointing. I would not return.

Great place to stay, location is perfect

Location was amazing, the cleaning woman needed extra time to clean the apartment however they have a great luggage locker that I left my luggage in. Comfortable beds and couch. Elevator worked great, you could hear the subway so bring a noise machine. I also had a different room that what is in the photos, however it was very nice, stylish and comfortable.

Could have used a blanket/throw for the couch, the old flowers needed to be refreshed or disposed of, the listing does mention that there is a free shuttle - which there isn't - you have to pay extra for that. There isn't a light outside the door - which is scary for a single gal to try and unlock the door. The safe also isn't connected to anything and needs batteries. It also smelt like cigarette and pot smoke, which wasn't my favorite - but I aired out the apartment and it was ok.

Beautiful property, fabulous location, met all our needs as a family with older children

Clean, spacious and immaculately presented property. Three large double bedrooms, two bathrooms and two separate toilets- more than met our needs as a family with older children who love their own space. The host was brilliant. Clear communication from start to finish and easy to locate and enter property with a keycode being provided nearer the time. The area was very good- lots of lovely restaurants, bakerys and shops nearby and we walked to the Louvre in 15 minutes.
