Comfortable, quirky retreat
We liked the excellent location. It was right in the middle of the town, close to all the shops, bars, and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. The accommodation was comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The TV is huge. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The showers were powerful, and water was hot. The secret room was a welcome surprise, and the outdoor seating area was a nice added touch. The keysafe worked well, so check in and out was a breeze.
The staircase was steep, so it was not really suitable for people with disabilities. The smaller of the three bedrooms was tiny with a double bed squeezed in. It was a single bed room at best. Some DIY skills were quirky, to say the least, or not quite finished in the bathrooms, but everything worked as it should. The corner sofa definitely needs replacing as it's extremely soft the one end by the entrance, and the whole thing is very low, which makes it difficult to get out of. The chubb lock was tight to use, so we didn't use it. The lack of natural light downstairs was a shame, so we had lights on all the time we were there.
