Beware - Pest Infestation- Health Hazard!

Beware - Pest Infestation Issues ! On the stench hit me on opening the front door. I hadn't smelt anything that heavy and strong since discovering a neighbours week long dead body. As I explored the rooms I began to see evidence of a previous pest infestation, confirmed by the state of the washing machine sludge that was not just in the front but all around the rim so thick it was a health hazard. All the windows were open to try & mask the smell but had zero impact. The bin outside contained an exact match of the same shower curtain which looked very new yet thrown out and the same over powering stench came from the bin suggesting the source and had been discarded not due to age but to reduce the smell but no attempt to treat the cause of the stench ..a pest infestation. I have unfortunately had experience with mould mites and mould gnats infestations and recognised it instantly. I could feel them entering from the loft space and halll light outside the bathroom door making the light bulb flicker. Lucky for me as I am moving house I had insecticide in the car and able to spray to keep them at bay but didbt sleep much. I called A&S who were completely unprofessional & in denial that they knew about a pest infestation despite evidence that the property showed otherwise & had not been cleaned in 6 months. I booked 2 nights but no way was I staying another night in this health hazard so I asked for a refund. I was bribed by the owner of the property not post reviews sharing this information if he refunded me my money. I have insect traps as evidence and will notify the public health department of Environmental Health.

The property was ok for a one night stay. However, at '6:30am on the Sunday morning' the neighbours were playing music at volumes you would expect at a night club. This woke us up, also several cars were revving their engines at 7am ... this was followed by a full on domestic dispute in the street from the neighbours, to the point my wife would not leave the property until I had loaded the car and she could just run out and get in the car .. I am not blaming the hosts as this is out of their control, but something worth bearing in mind. The property is secure and acceptable for the price if you want somewhere to sleep.

Wouldnt stay again

The toilet was leaking which was alrdy knows since there was a container underneath the toilet. The carpet was messy in the living room the front door and stairs where filthy and the cleaner lady was extreamly rude

There were no kitchen tools, and there was a vape in the kitchen draw. There was no heating and the control was clearly broken as it was either too hot or too cold. The owners clearly were in the property whilst I was out and turned the heating off …

It was a quiet, comfortable place.

The property was self catering. It was cosy and quiet. The bed was comfortable. It was well furnished. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was good. I think it was good value for money.

The central heating system could have been better. The control on the radiator in the bedroom was broken. So the radiator in the bedroom could only be full on, or off. This meant the heat in the bedroom could quickly become unpleasantly high. The central heating control box had apparently not been programmed. So the heating came on once unpredictably in the middle of the night. However the owner told me how to make the heating work.
