This was an amazing experience. Such a beautiful quiet place, stunning views. The room was large, had a water filter so you constantly had drinking water and hot water for tea and coffee. despite being in the middle of farmland the stay was very clean, very tidy. The towels and sheets smelled fresh of fabric softener. The hosts were amazing, always friendly and helpful.
Nothing, honestly, I'll go back for sure.

Amazing location on the top of the rice paddies, we loved the openness of the villa and the view out of the bed and a breakfast table. Villa was completely made out of bamboos and was surrounded by the nice small garden. Everything needed was available at the facility, staff organized a scooter and some drinks. Breakfast was basic but delivered directly to villa.
For the sensitive sleepers this could be a great challenge! Directly at the nature, the whole night you can hear the insects, frogs and hecos. You should always go to the WC with the light as never know :) In the morning locals start to work at 5-6 am on their fields. But we were just 2 days there and were prepared to such experience, overall happy for that stay.

Amazing staff and beautiful place, my favourite place I have stayed in Bali. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were beyond helpful, they helped with our bags and providing dinner when we arrived late ! Thank you so much

Everything is wonderful here - if you want to be in the middle of the nature, this is the place. The view is great, the bamboo house is lovely and the people are so nice
Food is ok, but not amazing, you can find better options in the area

What a unique and beautiful experience. Once I arrived in Sandag I loved it so much I instantly booked another night.
The views are magical, being fully immersed in nature, and the bamboo house was cozy, beautifully designed with an eye for detail.
Obviously this is a complete open house and I expected to have more “jungle” companions but there weren’t that many insects or other animal friends. For sure some mosquito bites are unavoidable, but the net around the bed gave all proper protection at night.
At night I fully enjoyed the sound of nature and the morning comes with the wake up calls from some of the chicken and birds in the area.
This might not be for everyone, but I truly enjoyed the experience.
I also enjoyed the tours the Sandag team organized for me.
Breakfast and other food options were delicious as well and I all in all had an amazing stay.
I felt safe, comfortable and relaxed at all times.

Staying in the bamboo cottage was an absolutely unforgettable experience! The hut itself is beautifully designed, with every detail carefully thought out, and it offers exceptional comfort – a perfect place to truly relax. Surrounded by the jungle and stunning views, every moment spent there felt magical.
The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and having breakfast delivered straight to the hut was a wonderful touch that made the mornings even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique experience in the heart of nature!

The room was amazing, as were the views. The partially outdoor bathroom was fun! Just the overall concept was fun and a departure from the ordinary. The hammock off the bedroom was a great place for an afternoon nap! The location is both a positive and a negative. Positive because you're out in the middle of nowhere and negative as it's far from everything! However, they were kind enough to find us a driver Kadek whom we used throughout our stay and we would recommend. Everyone has to try living in a tree house once in their life!
We didn't really enjoy the breakfast or the order in dinner. Cold and ordinary. Only one coffee pod per day per person. The very early roosters! Ear plugs are a must. Gede was helpful on arrival and took our heavy suitcase to our room but never really saw her or heard from her again. We weren't sure if we were to use the pool (?) / tub at our entry or not?

This place is absolutely stunning. Like more beautiful than you could even imagine. Waking up to sunrise over the mountain with a view from the bed was breathtaking. The staff were so beautiful and friendly, always willing to help whenever you needed something. The breakfast included was basic but nice.
The location was fine for me because I have a scooter, but if you don't have your own scooter or transport, it can be a little far to get to Sidemen centre. It's also worth mentioning the short walk along the stream to get to the accommodation, I loved this - it felt like a little bit of an adventure! The staff were super helpful with helping me and my luggage here.
Honestly everything was perfect

We loved the design of the property - a real slice of serenity tucked away on the Sidemen hillside. They provide plenty of amenities, so you can just enjoy the tranquility and nature. The staff are available via WhatsApp and we found them to be very responsive. Breakfast was tasty and seeing fireflies in the evening was a real bonus!
Nothing - we enjoyed everything about it

A sticky smell of a cheap musquito repellant, fires and smoke around the property, bad breakfast. It's not 4 stars - more like 2

Very spacious
Hut is completely open and there was a lot of wind, which was cold and stressful for me. It is too expensive for what it is. Very far away from Sidemen, so don’t book this place, if you are not comfortable driving a scooter.

The view is mesmerizing! I booked this place for this view only. Loved this experience of staying in an open hut with fresh air. If you’re afraid of bugs and other representatives of the wild life, I wouldn’t recommend to stay there. It’s like sleeping in the tent somewhere in the woods
Food was not good. Example, we ordered papaya salad hoping to have something like thai spicy salad made of grated green papaya. But no. We’ve got ripe sweet papaya pieces covered with mayonnaise. It’s better to eat in other places. There’s no parking for a car, or a bike. You’ll need to drop it on the road. It’s better to have earplugs to be able to sleep

A unique experience, in the middle of the rice fields, outside of the classic hotels. Super relaxing. All the comfort and necessary equipment in a charming bamboo room with a beautiful view.
Very confortable bed. Welcoming staff.
Well, unfortunately, the food was not good. Privacy is a bit tricky in that kind of open rooms where you can hear your neighbors but it's ok for 1 or 2 nights. Otherwise, you will enjoy the sound of the nature around you and make you sleep well.

To stay at Sandag is more than a hotel it is a unique experience, a truly wonderful experience. Our bamboo villa was spotlessly clean with open views of the countryside where you can just immerse yourself in nature. The staff were amazing and brought our food up to our villa. It was one of our best stays in Bali definitely recommend to stay here
The walk to the villas was an adventure in itself and although it is not something I personally disliked (as the whole experience was wonderful) the walk could be tricky to navigate if you had mobility issues

The host and staff were awesome. They were available 24/7. One morning, we had to get up at 3:30 a.m. and were shocked that there was no water supply. We contacted Gede, and he was on it immediately. 10-15 mins later, the water is back on. The Wifi is very strong and fast despite being in the middle of paddy fields and near a forest. The place is very clean. The view of the mountains and the rice field directly from our stay is second to none. The walk from the main road to the villa can be quite narrow in some areas, and you must be careful. But we enjoyed the experience of walking back along the stream to our villa and enjoying the view of the rice fields. The walk to Sandar Villa takes about 4 minutes from the main road, and it can be rather slippery and muddy after rain. And the speaker provided in the villa was a nice thought.
Here's a snippet of the walk from the main road to the villa to give you a better idea of what you will be experiencing at this stay: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSjxfXnAk/
TIPS:
1) Pack a small torchlight to take with you if you return after 6.30 pm. The walk along the stream back to your villa is not well-lit. Some areas are in total darkness, and you can barely see your feet. The last thing you want is to miss a step and hurt yourself. Though the torch from your phone may help, it may not be bright enough. The villa provides a torch, but it's a tad too big to take it with you in your handbag.
2) Always keep the netting to cover your bed to avoid tiny insects and dust from the roof and dirty your bed linen.
3) Off all lights just before sunrise to avoid any bugs and insects flying in - especially those attracted to lights.
4) Wake up early and enjoy the sunrise.
5) Stay is NOT Recommended for families with young kids
A little bit more privacy in the shower area would be great, so we wouldn't need to put on any covering during showers as passersby/staff can see you through the bamboo pole used as walls/screen in the shower area.

Location directly in a rice terrace with a stunning view. Very peaceful setting full of character and natural beauty. Service from Gede and his wife were exceptional, and were always at hand to advise, support, and answer any queries. Gede organised everything for us, delivering meals to our door so we could enjoy our brilliant bamboo chalet. Could not recommend enough for people to stay here for the experience
It is an open aired property, so bugs can get into the property, but that’s all part of the properties charm! One night a fire fly found its self in our room which was a crazy and amazing experience! Big nets to surround the bed so no need to worry as much when you’re sleeping.
Also, wildlife can get noisy on the night, so do bring earplugs if you struggle with nighttime noise!

Gede was an excellent host, including his wife Ayu and brother Putu. The villa was spotless each day and food was wonderful. We hope this remains a beautiful little secret spot for us in Sidemen. Wish we had more days enjoying the property.

Amazing place to stay. The units are unique. I would have loved to stay for longer. Sidemen is still keeping its authenticity and is a lot calmer than other parts of Bali. I visited in raining season and this unit is the best place to stay while listening to the rain. You also have electricity and good internet connection. And it was clean.

New bamboo bungalow with stunning view.
No windows, no doors, full connection to a nature
Small waterfall sound, next to the bungalow.
Great attention to details.
Amazing host, great breakfast.
Calm atmosphere
If you have a lot of staff, you might be uncomfortable to leave it at the place without doors, come here without redundant staff, to calm down and relax.

The view is just AMAZING! The villa is located in the middle of rice fields, so you wake up with an impressive view, surrounded by nature and local farmers (very friendly and nice). It's definitely a great experience. The hosts are very nice and friendly and they took care of offering a nice experience for us.

It was such an amazing experience to stay there, the view was breathtaking, the bed was comfortable, and the service was excellent. The place is as beautiful as I expected, I really recommend everyone to stay here if you’re looking for serenity, tranquility, and the ‘other side’ of Bali experience. You’ll wake up feeling awesome with the beautiful sunrise too!
- The amount of bugs might bother some people, but I personally don’t think it’s a big deal. They also provide mosquito net & lotion so you’ll be okay!
- The outdoor bathroom is beautiful but adding some cover would definitely make it more comfortable to shower.

We had a lovely stay in Sandag Hill! Gede and his wife are very kind. They will help you with everything you need. In the morning they bring you breakfast at the bamboo hut, so you can eat with an amazing view!
Sandag Hill is really beautiful! They thought about every single detail. The shower is also made of bamboo and is outside. But with warm water and a beautiful view, you will definetly like it! You can watch the sunrise from your bed. We will come again!

It’s possibly the most unique property I’ve ever stayed in. The bamboo palace sits atop a terraced chilli plantation and it’s open-fronted view offers a stunning panorama of the landscape in the distance. The place is incredibly secluded.
The water is warm and has amazing pressure considering the location! The toilet has possibly the best view of any bathroom in bali. There is a small kitchenette with a sink, a kettle, a fridge, tea, coffee and biscuits and we were even provided with fresh oranges, bananas and snake fruit.
When we arrived there were fresh flowers in every room. Everything was perfect, clean, tidy… absolutely beautiful.
We had dinner down at the restaurant, the food was good and the coconuts were cool and fresh! They brought our breakfast up to the villa so we could enjoy the view whilst we ate.
Gede looked after us amazingly throughout our stay. He is such a lovely person and was incredibly helpful!
We didn’t have any problems with bugs or mosquitos, the open plan nature of the building keeps the air circulating well inside so the bugs stay away. The linen mosquito net around the incredibly comfy king-size bed also did the job well overnight. Relaxing in bed with the stars right in front of you is an amazing feeling!
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the Sideman area! I will 100% be going back at some point! Everything about the stay was perfect!

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic stay in this beautiful property for our anniversary. The team were so welcoming and helpful both on arrival and throughout our stay, even helping to arrange transport. We booked this pretty last minute and were fortunate to be of the first guests to stay in this brand new property.
This stay is an absolute must for anyone travelling to Sidemen. The views are breathtaking and the setting is genuinely magical. The photos truly do not do this place justice. Access to the property is via the waterway supplying the rice terraces, among which the villa is perched. The villa provides panoramic views across the valley and allows for a breathing sunrise view from bed.
The villa is really well equipped with sockets and lighting and the toilet and shower facilities felt brand new. Given the open plan nature of the building, a mosquito/insect net is necessary around the bed. This is provided and worked great.
Collectively, we could not recommend Sandag Bamboo Villa enough. An absolutely beautiful new property in Sidemen that will doubtlessly become very popular.
Nil. Fantastic stay.
