Bella Kita Mountain Retreat & Spa

A beautiful isolated mountain getaway. The staff were extra friendly and ready to assist. The infinity pool for guests was perfect. I could’ve floated in it all day long listening to the forest birds and animals, watching across the jungle to the ocean. Tip: bring some cash to pay at the restaurant, the staff buy all their produce fresh from the local village and appreciate cash as there is no card facilities. Yes the meal prices in the restaurant might be little higher than you’ll get in more popular towns, average au$10-15 mains, but come on, it’s still cheap! We also did a day trip to Gembleng waterfall and Sidemen rice fields, which was 40 minute drive away - highly recommend it.

Unfortunately the steep road to the location has sustained some damage recently from the heavy rains and one of our Grab drivers couldn’t make it up, leaving us the walk the final 150m. Hopefully this will be repaired soon

World class views and coffee at Monkey Bar, wonderful jungle sounds, nice pools, good quality food for all meals. We actually never left for 5 days. The friendly Monkey Bar staff speak great english and were super friendly.

Some people were previously complaining about the stairs- not an issue at all there's like 20 of them! There was occasionally some neighbour noise but it was not an issue for us either- when you look out onto a jungle bowl for 40km expect to have some neighbours, those most are jungle friends. The road up at the end after recent rains was in need of repair, but you can still get up there.

A quiet location in a lovely pool and breakfast facilities

Not really a complaint, but there is a lot of stairs and Hill climbs around the property

- amazing, spacious apartment - excellent restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast; several choices for breakfast-takeaway (as we had to leave early) - very friendly staff at restaurant with good English language skills

- communication prior to arrival difficult/ time-taking via email and booking; better via WhatsApp

The swimming pool is brilliant. The rooms were spacious and super clean and the hotel’s location is marvellous.

Had to pay in cash at restaurant No Grab/Gojek in area so have to use private driver or resort driver (be prepared to pay extra for this)

The hotel did not inform us until we checked in at 10pm that the infinity pool was undergoing repairs. It was a major reason for choosing this hotel.

One of the most amazing accommodations I stayed it during my life: the view, the room (size, cleanliness, bathroom,...), the swimming pool. Everything is top class and built with a lot of taste for design.

Absolutely nothing. It's a fair way up the mountain but it's worth it.

We had a wonderful stay at Bella Kita. The setting is beautiful, the rooms are clean and well-designed, and the food and drinks were amazing : fresh, flavorful, and great value for the price. The included continental breakfast was enough, but you can easily add more if you want. A 30-minute massage is also included, which was a lovely bonus. A huge thank you to Ketut, Ari, and all the other staff whose names I didn’t catch... They were incredibly kind and welcoming, especially with our baby. They often played with him or took him for a short walk so I could eat in peace. It made such a difference. Access is a bit uphill but manageable, and you can hire a driver externally for a better rate. I would definitely come back.

Location. Views amazing. Just a shame 2 days of rain. One night so heavy I was worried my driver would not get up the mountain. However sunshine in the morning

No hand rails on the stairs. Very dangerous. Never got my eggs cooked the way I like them “soft “. Minor detail Neither tv worked. Frustrating when you are stuck inside

The villas are superb! They are clean and well maintained.

The restaurant food was not great and there are no other dining options close by.

We liked the size of the villa and the private pool. It was clean and the staff was super friendly. The food in the restaurant was great. The views from the pools are amazing. It’s a serene setting away from traffic and loud noises. The bed was also very comfortable and it has a mosquito net.the outdoor shower was great, too.

Some towels were a bit dated and stained. I’m sure if we had mentioned it, we would have gotten new ones. Keep in mind there is only one restaurant so you don’t have options to eat somewhere else. Although the food was exquisite, it’s on the more expensive side in comparison.

The pool is amazing. Staff were very friendly and the suites are very spacious. Nice touch having a large drinking water dispenser in the room. Loved the semi-open air shower with a jungle view as well. Also appreciated the massage voucher.

I didn’t anticipate how reluctant regular taxi drivers are to come up or down, it’s only a few km from Padang Bai and other busy areas but they don’t like the mountain roads. Ordering a taxi via the hotel is incredibly expensive. Just something to bear in mind logistically - you won’t be nipping up and down for dinner etc even if it shows as a few km on the map. However there is a restaurant there which has a nice view. Staff were a bit pushy sometimes, in the space of one hour they whatsapped me, called me, and knocked on my door to disturb me and ask if I’d come to the restaurant for dinner even though I’d answered the first time…maybe they interpreted this as hospitable but I felt uncomfortable being asked over and over. The main reason I’ve not scored this place higher: the wooden bed frame in my room was infested with termites :( the bed was full of them. The hotel responded quickly by changing the sheets and spraying some repellent, but an infestation is a bigger issue and so by morning they were back. Hundreds of them. A room change would have been more appropriate, had they done that I wouldn’t have mentioned it here. I know it’s the jungle so you expect some insects but not a colony living in the furniture…especially the bed. Hope the hotel will rectify this with a professional because it unfortunately really affected the comfort of what was otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Upon our first payment with Visa credit card, the machine gave no receipt and the manager said they did not receive the money for our 2 night stay. He said they cannot collect via booking. When the position was still on reserved status on my credit card account after 5 days, I agreed to pay again with Mastercard. Two days later when we were back in Europe the visa payment got collected. So we have paid a huge amount twice and the management was unwilling to resolve this. They never react to messages via booking dot com. They said via WhatsApp they would check but never did. We feel scammed.

Pool was fantastic. Our villa & terrace were spacious and comfortable.

Nothing we did not like. This property is not suitable for anyone with problems walking. This is since the property has many steps and the restaurant requires walking up a steep slope.

The views from the pool were sublime and the Monkey Bar restaurant had a great selection and all the food we had was delicious. Both our rooms had great balconies overlooking the rainforest and all the staff were super friendly.

This place was amazing. Quiet clean and just what we needed. Away from the hustle and bustle. Would definitely recommend it if you need to get away from it all for rest. The monkey bar was also amazing and the food was fabulous. Staff at both places were also amazing. Will definitely be going back. Just remember there are no shops nearby. .

Ran out of warm water very fast with showering. But nothing bad so say at all about the stay!

This place was amazing with jungle all around, big rooms and balconies, very peaceful, would go back again. Monkey Bar is where you eat and only a minute walk away up a hill.

On the property their was no hot water, Acknowledged to Reception, they didn't took seriously and told us to wait for until 5pm which reception finish their job at that time, later we waited for hours we been told they will book technician, but unfortunately it was not been fixed till next day till time to leave the property. The next day in the morning, I noticed that water was completely gone. The swimming pool was not cleaned well. In the kitchen, rooms and other areas, lots of Red Ant's. We have to ask for Insect spray, and we sprayed everywhere, but still Red ANT'S are keep coming, due to that we didn't have a proper sleep. All croceries are not cleaned well. Very dirty..

The room, the location

Beautiful private villa, amazing views across the rainforest and the sounds of the rainforest at night were amazing. Everything was lovely! Very comfy bed! Also enjoyed hanging out at the Monkey Bar. Our booking included complementary 30min spa treatment which was a real treat!

As expected in the mountains and with such views... there are quite a few steps up/down to the villa which made it hard for me with injuries. If stairs are problematic for you I suggest asking for a villa closer to the entrance. Noting this... But it's definitely not a downfall of this beautiful place. The road in from the coast was a little bit rough in sections... But it was fine for our driver. Monkey Bar prices are a little higher than expected but not really an issue.
