Lovely Port Sunlight Cottage

This is a lovely, historic, yet modern and comfortable house. It has all amenities you could need and more, and a decor that is full of personality. Excellent location to explore the village and galleries and a only few minutes walk from Port Sunlight train station. The host was friendly, accommodating and great with communication.

A lovely stay

A lovely cottage fitted out to a very high standard. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Amazing location within minutes of the Lady Lever gallery and the friendly litlr train station which took us straight to Lime Street James was an incredibly helpful host.

Great Port Sunlight find!

Location was perfect for our requirements. Communication from the host excellent with full details of how to enter the property & use all the amenities clearly explained. The cottage was immaculately presented with every comfort catered for. The bed was very comfortable & the shower fabulous 👌 We only needed to stay one night on this occasion but would definitely stay again for longer on our next visits to Port Sunlight.

It was quirky and a little gem. It was clean and so comfortable. Everything inside was thoughtfully curated and the colours were just lovely.

Beautiful, quirky and perfect to visit Liverpool & surrounding area

The property was exactly as advertised. It was exceptionally clean but not like a show home, you felt like you could live there and use the facilities. The host, James provided excellent communication from the outset. The Metro goes into Liverpool about every 10 mins until midnight and it’s cheap to travel so it was ideal for our first trip to the area. There is an enormous bath to soak away pounding the city streets, which made our trip even lovelier. Lots of crisp, freshly washed towels and even some robes provided. It’s brilliant to stay in someone’s home as you have everything you could possibly need but you have the entire place to yourself. We loved it here. Thank you James

Excellent comfortable stay. well worth a visit

Location excellent. 2 minutes walk from the railway station and 5 minutes walk to the Gladstone theatre which was the purpose of my visit. Plenty to see in the lovely village- the art gallery and the museum- and for outings on the excellent Merseyrail line to Chester, Liverpool, Birkenhead and West Kirby. James provided comprehensive notes regarding the accommodation and responded promptly to messages

The property has lots of character, with many original features kept but modernised sympathetically. Very well equipped with everything you would need for a short or long stay. Perfectly situated in Port Sunlight to explore this charming village on foot.

An excellent property in a wonderful area.

The whole house was fantastic. great wi-fi, an enormous tv, really comfortable bed, and an excellent bathroom with a great shower and a large bath. The kitchen had everything you need for eating in. The house was beautifully decorated throughout with a wonderful collection of books and interesting pictures. Our visit to Port Sunlight was enhance by the reference to the village in the house. The host provided excellent information. We would thoroughly recommend the property.

I am really struggling to think of anything I didn't like however a bedside light on both sides would be good.

If you are looking for a short stay with historical interest I would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed having the opportunity to stay in a period property which had many of the original features. The cottage had been thoughtfully furnished and decorated. It was well equipped and clean. The communication from James was very good and getting into the property was easy. Staying on the Port Sunlight estate was interesting with the museum and Lever Art Gallery all within easy walking distance. The parking space was a bonus and a courtyard outside to enjoy the sunshine. We enjoyed visiting West Kirby for the coast and New Brighton for views across to Liverpool. Also, it is easy to get to Liverpool by car or train.

Excellent stay in old worker's cottage

Comfortable period property with tasteful modern additions. Everything you need for a relaxing self catering stay. Comfortable bed....loads of space in property. Fantastic big screen television with all the internet channels. Close to train and buses...half an hour from Liverpool and trains go to Chester from there also. Highly recommend...owner very helpful and good communication. Plenty of things to see and do in village...museum, art gallery, guided and self guided walks, pubs, cafes and restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

A hugely enjoyable stay in a beautiful property

A wonderful place to relax and to see the area in a beautiful worker’s cottage in a stunning, historic, village with the benefit of a carefully upgraded kitchen and bathroom. I found the way that the owner had integrated the history of the area into the property while it remaining very personal to them made it quite special.

There was nothing I didn’t like. I appreciated that the owner pointed out suitable parking as the road can be busy.

Calming and luxurious

Everything. Everything required and extremely comfortable and welcoming. Very tastefully decorated. Wished we could stay longer. I had to change from my partner to a friend at last minute and she was absolutely thrilled to join me as we had been to Port Sunlight last year. Felt very privileged to be trusted in staying in someone's private home . Highly recommend.

Great stay in a Port Sunlight cottage with all the modern conveniences.

We liked staying in a conservation village, a few minutes walk to the metro train station, and the sights in Port Sunlight. There were many kitchen consumables provided although we didn't use them. The outside courtyard area was a plus, and it was useful to have a car parking space outside. We didn't use the car at all during our break. The metro train was great for getting to Liverpool. This takes 20 minutes. In the other direction is Chester, which takes half an hour.

The constant traffic noise from the bedroom. We would recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Personally, we prefer a firmer mattress than what is provided.
