Solo Girl holidays

The hostel it’s beautiful from outside, great customer service from the hostel staff, good and entertaining activities. Good location. Swimming pool.

the room for 6 people it wasn’t clean at all and it has not key so it was unlocked the whole day. People who were not staying in the room came in during the night to use the bathroom. The shower always moulded and the toilets were dirty al the time. Also we’ve been without water for hours during several days and without hot water also.

Cool place to stay in Uluwatu!

The staff were attentive and friendly! The hostel only for 6 person and its comfortable enough, with good AC, good bed, great swimming pool! The common area and the vibe was amazing! They have whatsapp group that they update all the activities happening at the place! Recommended for solo and couple traveler! Great location!!!

1. The coffee is not included in the breakfast served, you gotta pay extra for a coffee. 2. I would suggest the bar near the pool can put on more volume of the speaker, would be great to chill by the pool with music they play.

Super friendly vibe in a tropical paradise

The staff were super friendly, as were many of the guests. The breakfast was great. I chose the Indonesian option, Nasi Goreng or Mie Goreng, with fresh melon, granola and yogurt, and a freshly blended fruit juice. The restaurant overlooked the beautiful courtyard pool, with lots of flowering trees. There was a skate park on the property also. (Please ignore the last 3 photos, I'm not sure where those came from)

The only minor annoyance was a restaurant nearby which had off-tune singing most nights, I could hear it from my room. Fortunately it didn't go too late. The one night Kala Surf Camp had their own live band (which was excellent) it drowned it out. And I wish the room had a safe so I could lock up my passport.

Best place to stay in Uluwatu

Staff are amazing, great vibe, easy to meet people, close to everything, a lot of opportunities to do socialise if you want to. Did I say the staff were amazing!?!? Really relaxed and chill atmosphere. I was meant to stay one night but kept extending. Not a party hostel but really social and you leave with a lot of friends. Free gym classes and water was amazing.

The pool & gym area are nice.

The room was riddled with mosquitoes, I was awoken by mosquitoes frequently and in the morning I had multiple bite marks. Also, the bathroom had a leaking hose & fitting, which resulted in water spraying all over. I got salmonella from the restaurant on site which resulted in hospitalisation.

The staff! Alya and Wira are caring and loving, they make you feel like at home! Actually, even better! This is my second time here and I came back for them! Also, I have improved my surfing skills thanks to the surf coaches Jack, Rafi, Richard and Adit. Thank you guys!

Loved the hostel activities, wished the amenities were better.

I loved the pool, walking distance to ulu cliff house, & single fins club.

The shower drain wasn’t draining properly. I brought this up to their attention and it still hasn’t been fixed and now it smells like urine in the shower. I showered with cold water, brought it up to their attention and they fixed that but the shower heads are broken and the water pressure is weak. So my showers smelt like urine, dribbling water to shower with, and was cold :/.

Kala is a beautiful and friendly place with a relaxed vibe

Kala is a beautiful place with a really relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and everything is very well organized. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer, they offer great guidance for all levels. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, meet nice people, and enjoy the laid-back Uluwatu vibe. Highly recommend!

There was a big construction site right next to the hostel, which made it hard to enjoy the pool area because of the constant noise. Of course, this is not something the hostel can prevent, and it’s probably not great for them either, but it’s good to know if you’re planning to book a stay.

Good vibes and excellent location, though a few things could be improved.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The camp is in a great location—walking distance or a short Grab ride to all the good restaurants and cool spots. It’s a great place to meet like-minded people, with a lovely pool to cool off in, skate bowl to practice in and good breakfast from the restaurant. Nice spacious cupboards in the room to store your things.

Bathroom: The bathroom in the rooms felt a bit run down. With no ventilation, it was often damp, and a proper separation between the shower and toilet area would make it much more comfortable. This was the one space in the camp that could really use some improvement. Video Recording of Surf Session: The website says video is included with surf guiding, but in reality you have to pay extra, which many guests didn’t expect. One of my sessions was recorded, but I was never shown the footage and was later told, after I left the camp the next day, I’d have to pay to receive it - unfair given how it was handled. Also, I'm not going to pay for something I havent seen yet. Also, if you miss the scheduled video analysis, you can’t review it later with the guide. The surf guide’s explanation was basically that they're off the clock, so if you snooze, you lose which felt unprofessional and disappointing. This was probably the issue that frustrated most of us guests. Video recording should be included in the package as advertised and shared with guests, as it’s an essential tool for improving your surfing. Surf Skating: Having a skate bowl in the camp was a highlight. There is a scheduled weekly surf skating session with a trainer, but during my stay the trainer never showed up. Instead, we guests practiced together, with the more experienced skaters helping the beginners. When we asked the staff about the instructor, we were ignored. It left me wondering if there was ever actually a trainer, so I’m not sure why it was advertised. Having one would make a big difference, especially for beginners who benefit from proper guidance. That said, one of the staff kindly helped me after I asked, and I’m really grateful - he skated so well, and his tips genuinely helped me improve. It would be great if daily yoga classes were included in the package, as they really support and complement surfing.

Great place to learn to surf

The surf staff is soo friendly and funny. They're great teachers. The pool is beautiful and a great place to relax. The restaurant is also tasty but if you don't feel like eating there theres a ton of restaurants around to go eat at.

The bathroom wasn't y favorite. Theres no separation between the sink, shower, and toilet, but i've learned that's not uncommon in South East Asia. However the water smells so it made the bathroom and room as a whole smell bad.

Perfect location!

I was pleasantly surprised that when a few issues arose with my room, the staff made the necessary arrangements and upgraded my booking for free to make up for them. Very nice and accommodating staff. And overall, the vibes are really nice. The location is perfect!

Salt weather pool and shower :(( no coffee/tea for breakfast (only if you pay additionally)

The hotel was aesthetic which is nice, the staff is friendly and the location is realy good

The pool and the shower just had salt wather which is an absolute no go in my opinion. Like imagine your out there surfing in the salt weather all day and then get back to the hotel to shower litterly in ocean weather?? Also if you have a breakfast added to the room they will still charge you for tea/coffe which definitly should be included regarding the very very high price the hotel has. I was realy not happy there at all :((

Great place to stay

The room was large, aesthetically pleasing, very clean, and pleasant. bed were very confortable and big. The bathroom was very clean (there was no hot water, but I think that's the case in most accommodations in Bali). The camp facilities are very good, clean, and pleasant. The pool is very nice and has plenty of lounge chairs. The restaurant was very good. There are many activity options, but I didn't participate. There are events to connect with the guests, and I really liked that.

Beds, rooms, showers. The noise and the service. Huge room but no functional furniture. Expensive bikes rental in front. One night without AC in 30°C and the only compensation - one free coffee in the morning. Very bad night sleep. Poor internet. Too expensive for value.

The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the location was good

I’ve been placed in 6 dorms female(not for what I paid initially) and no personal locker, only shared with another random girl, no table for the stuff next to bed, only one rack for 2 bed/person. No keys for entering door, the door always was open anyone could enter. One sink for 6 people, the bathroom was smelly, and one of the shower was full of water.

Really welcoming place in a great location within walking distance of Uluwatu beach.

Extremely friendly staff, very professional place, great surf camp setup with good instructors. The rooms are particularly good.

The only thing that could be improved is maybe the food (breakfast is OK but limited). It's not bad, only not quite up to scratch of all other aspects.

The facilities and the pool is the best price of property, location is good too.

Check in was supposed to be 2pm, couldn’t give me a room until 4.30pm so was waiting around for hours with no real ETA. For how expensive the price is, the actual rooms are not great. Mainly bathrooms. Bathroom always flooding from shower.

Good potential but fell short

This place has great potential but I found it to be expensive for what it was. If you book through booking.com you don't get the surf lessons included. The breakfast was great, the beds were comfortable and the pool area was nice. I heard great things about the surf lessons too.

The dorm rooms are nice and spacious but are let down by the bathrooms which need upgrading. I think I was unlucky that the accommodation was not full while I was there so I didn't get the opportunity to meet people as I would have liked.
