Certosa di Pontignano Residenza d'Epoca - Place of Charme

We came here after two nights elsewhere in Tuscany, and the place earns its reputation - a former monastery you're free to wander, with a few separate gardens that each have their own feel. We spent a while just walking them, stopping to take photos, finding corners we hadn't seen the first time around. Breakfast was good, and we headed out afterward for a morning walk in the fields nearby. The staff struck the balance you want - warm without hovering, and quick when we needed something. Two nights in, it was the kind of stop that made us slow down.

The room was the smallest we had on the whole trip! cramped enough that you notice it. And we'd pictured somewhere more romantic than it turned out to be; there was a group of academics staying at the same time, and the couples' feel we were after wasn't really there.

Best breakfast in northern Italy! Grounds were beautiful. Facility super special. Dinner was lovely.

Sleeping in an ancient monastery with such a wonderful story and facilities is a lifetime experience. Staff is very skilled and helpful, rooms are renovated and clean, pet friendly policies saved us the day. Will definitely stay here again.

Nothing.

Rooms small but expected as was a monastery in the past. Bathroom was growing mould ( like a science experiment). Food delicious and restaurant staff great. Bar was never open unless you were a corporate or in a function. And when asked were I could get a drink staff were rude. I felt like an inconvenience… This place has all the ingredients of being great, charming and fascinating with its history and all but it has list its way… disappointing
